We didn't get this music here in the States back in the 80's. I was lucky to have a few Vietnamese friends who knew about it from Vietnamese music stores in Orlando who imported it from Europe. Heard this sound as early as '82. They called it "new wave" so that's what I've always called it. Still dig it. 30 years later and I'm engaged to a 26 yr old Vietnamese girl who knows this music...awesome!!!!

Same here ;) There's been a huge amount of very talented artists during whole the 80' s . I think that Europe had given Italo Disco because of Italy, and later other artists ( which are not necessary from Italy) were called as Italodisco . Hmm.. some people used to say that even Modern Talking and Bad Boys Blue were Italodisco. My way of thinking would be slightly different. I've never called such a them as Italo disco. It's just too far despite they sounded in similar way
