I appreciate this video for what it is. However, the focus for too long has been on what we see and not how it affects us... Who we are... This video is a montage of truly unfortunate human tragedy and deserves to be acknowledged for what it is. Thank you all for what you do.
"I think that, as life is passion and action, it is required of a man that he should share the passion and action of his time at peril of being judged not to have lived."
You should do your job because of your knowledge, skillset, ability and the fact you are able to do that job and you love it, you shouldnt do a job looking at it for recognition or what benefit you will receive from it. If you do you may need to consider a different occupation. You are not "JUST" medical providers, you are my fellow brothers and sisters.
Hey man. Great video. Helping others, helping yourself, getting credit or just the satisfaction.. the ladies. We all have our reasons why we want a job that involves meeting hurt people every day. I'm not even sure why I like it, but I do.
i am a junior firefighter hoping to get accepted into the emt-i program at the college i just got accepted to and use them skills to assist my department on medical calls
Anyone who doesn't show their appreciation to EMT's or Paramedics need a substantial beating!
I'm in school now, changing my major from Nutritional Science to a Paramedic degree track because my First Aid class helped me to realize my desire to be that first responder.
EMS crews have to put up with attitudes from unstable patients, assorted body fluids, potential violence from people other than the patient & not even mentioning whatever the weather/road conditions are at the given time.
@lolpranksta or a doctor. never once does my aunt (a paramedic) gets thanked. little do the people know that if it wasn't her rushing there in the critical 12 min of a hear attack, that loved one would never survive. She gets yelled at, spat at, bled on, vommitted on, urinated on even. yet, she gets no appreciation, low pay, long hours. its not fair.
@CrazyForPianosGirl God bless her soul then. She's willing to save lives regardless because she's compassionate and brave. Tell your aunt that the world is a better place because of people like her who put up with ignorant humans. She's truly a hero.
Thank you for uploading this. I was an EMTFR for three years until moving north and I don't think people ever really understood what we saw on a daily basis.
@whitephaux I RESPECT both PARAMEDICS and EMTS im in a magnet high school for teens that want to be firefighters, cops or medics and i see the hard work you guys do and i give you guys props and respect
Paramedic,s???? great people and we are going to need every one of them and more in this way too fast, careless stupid society we live in, i hope their pay goes up by 50% and they have a right to carry shoot and kill any asshole who ever wants to hurt them whilst doing their job...thats about were it is today with assults on these life saver,s,,cheer,s!!
Appreciate the comments. 2:29 was a tragic event that left a person feeling that suicide by train was his only answer and is not ment to be depicted as harsh or disrespectful in any way, shape or form. Unfortunately its the reality of the things that we, as EMS Providers, deal with both physically and emotionally on a day to day basis.
@dnotae I'm an on-call firefighter, been on for almost a year. I've made a decision to continue with it and get my EMT-Basic. Our town has had some pretty bad calls, one was a suicide involving a train. I was not on at the time but the stories I hear make me look up to the guys I work with, with pride and respect. Nobody wants to walk along the tracks and pick up body parts. We don't get nearly as much respect as we should, but it's something we have to live with everyday.
@jalen77232 Neither do firefighters. After all paramedics and firefighters are the one who actually save peoples lives on scene. They stabilize the people to get to the hospital. Both deserve way more credit...
@supersurferdude36 how do you like the shower of praise and glory every sept 11th? i can assure you that we medics dont get that kind of recognition. I respect my FF's on my shift, but you guys are basically retired on active duty.

@lolpranksta yeah, she is a hero. but none of my family thinks like that. She's seen no more than a "truck" driver. which is sad.
