they played this song also with qotsa... nice guys they were, awesome scene... not several bands battling against each other but a big family of musicians creating together, that's the way it should be
nick and josh split up to early - i was just 18!! :)
...at least that got dave to play drums for them. I really think Nick needs to kiss josh's ass and go back to Queen of the...I really wish they would reunite. The first, second and third albums kick ass. Damn! They r still in heavy rotation for me. Mark Lonegan...i love u!
nick couldn't get back in with Josh no matter how much ass kissing he offered up - besides, Josh is in the band to kick all their asses including Queens which is Them Crooked Vultures
@irondaddymac I saw them live before the album and I was so moved by the performance. I went around telling everyone how great they were and getting all excited.... then the album came out and I changed my mind completely
But wasn't it Josh who kicked Nick out of Queens because of his abuse to his current girlfriend? Yeah... he may be a slammin guy, but you don't mill woman, hell no.
This show was VERY close to the QOTSA show at The Troubadour during the SFTD era. I was lucky enough to be there. Was standing outside the Troubadour and Grohl walked by and just thought, "Wow I get to see him play drums twice, this is awesome". Then Josh comes out to play guitar. Great show!!
Not quite - this song is from the "Rated R" era. They played this song a lot love and when they toured for a month with Dave with SFTD came out. Ode to Clarissa was a B-side on Rated R
hell yeah.. just like old queens: homme, oliveri, grohl, lanegan.. legends of (not so mainstream) rock.. i love it, a great monster mixture of great bands: kyuss, nirvana, screaming trees all on one stage
