In pop music where sounds are compressed I wouldn't have anything to say about using the Grand III.... but in certain acoustic jazz or classical music, Ivory, with the large amount of sampling by velocity, would kill it. Sorry, but I stick to Synthogy for pianos all the way
Hello Chris, I am using The Grand 3 with a Kawai CS3 Piano. I was wondering how I can wire the audio output back to the piano's built in speaker. Do I need an extra software, or does this have to do with the midi control? I am using mac os leopard.
choosing the right sound is so difficult there are so many virtual pianos the one ur playing is nice but can it stand up to other instruments playing with it in styles like hip hop or dance where u need bass and drums what do u think
thanks for comparing it to the ivory, i was especially looking for that! akoustik sounds pretty bad at least on my speakers, i can't make out why! ivory sounds very nice but the lower keys are too quiet when i play some upper keys, even with an eq i dont get it to sound right...
if i ever get the money together i'll get the grand 3!
I find the Ivory's, dark, subtle tones make it ideal for Jazz...and akoustik is nice for folk & classical music. Steinberg is great. But, I won't really put any of these pianos above the other, including Pianoteq, TruePianos and Pianissimo. They are all tweakable and have their own unique sounds that can all be placed into respective mixes. Nice review! Is it possible that you all can do a comparison review of Novation's SL MK II and M-Audio's Axiom Pro? I appreciate your opinions Chris. Thanks
that being said...that sounded nice ...but really like someone said.how many grand pianos can one person get? ..every year they coming out with new grand pianos..at some point you just gotta go..yeah its alright..

Really nice pianos. Akoustik have the different sound but it sounds good too. So I have to free up 32 GB. Again! :(
:) Thanks for the review.

You can sort out the difference in volume between velocities in Ivory, by lowering the dynamic range value.
