I bought this when the N64 first came out. I was severely disappointed as I expected something that was eventually delivered by Zelda:Ocarina of Time. I finished this game, as it was the only one of it's kind on the system. It was super easy and the final boss was a push over. Nonetheless, for some reason good memories.

@Machammerballs Well, It's not to late you can always play any N64 games on your PC and it's free, all you need to do is download a Emulator named Project 64 (and the version you want 1.5, 1.6 or 1.7) then you download the rom of the game Paper Mario, Super Mario 64, Zelda.

@YourEternalSmile Actually the wind skills are the most useful in this game. If you want to give it a try do this : Start a new game and put all spirits you collect on wind attribute and beat the 1st boss. Then tdo the same with any other attribute and notice the difference.
@YourEternalSmile Oh and forgot to mention use Wind Cutters 2 or 3 if you have. Trust me you will see the difference you're gonna do at least 16-20 more damage than you will do if by using fire or anything else.
Also, the girl you talk to in the end is Shannon, the girl that's in every inn in the game (he he, I said Inn in :)) and at the end of the game she tells you that she's a puppet made my mammon (the final boss) and that she will die when the battle is over. Or something like that :).

Only a little more than halfway there! If you didn't cheat you should post your game play.
That guy cheated cause with max element you should have HP N MP way up... I have wind 50/50 water 40/50 earth 27/50 and fire 25/50 and my (HP 371 89%)
@masterpimpshinchan Unless you plan on leveling up til hair grows on your tongue. you cannot max out all elements in this game. It even says so on the strategy guide. You need GS to do that.

If you have 50/50/50/50 in your elements the woman tell you something else.
I remember playing this, and I found out what did the most damage to the final boss was just hitting him with your stick it did more damage then any of the spells you could cast.
This actually depends on your ATK level. The more you rely on your staff for attacking the enemies, the stronger your staff attack grows with every level up. The same goes for enduring damage. The more you take, the greater your DEF will be.
Easy way to kill him is using avalancha , that rock attack , and also the barrier it has , he bearly took life away from me when i fought him , hehehe

I can't believe people say this game was "failed!" Sure, it was hard as hell, but... It was really fun. I played it many years ago, and it was one of the ONLY games I played.
Word of advice. You will go ABSOLUTELY INSANE in this one ridiculously long cave. It has an enemy called Wyvern in it. It's CRAZY strong and can easily rape you.

At Angel: Shamwood is easy to get to. Go to the desert and go to the south. On the map, its te giant patch of whitespace. Go to the middle and head south. When you see a green crystal, go under it to find a stone platform. Go into the middle and you are in Shamwood. There are numerous spirits, items and a story filler character there.
true gamers dont cheat -_-. It's impossible to fill al 4 elements to 50 unless you plan on fighting til hair grows on ur tongue. U obviously used a built in GS options with the emu.
wow you replied to that quickly, but I have played DragonQuest III, and I thought it was good. But I still liked Quest 64 more. then again I was 6-7 years old when I first played quest, so I might just like it a lot becuase it was my first RPG. plus I loved the music in Quest.
Lol I did another Quest 64 challenge. This time I only use healing, magic drain, and wind lvl 3. No items or other spells. It only took me 16 minutes to kill him with 25 wind gems. Since I only have 29/30/50/25 fire, earth, water, and wind. I wanna do a Quest 64 run, but you wanna do a run together like a race. I like to see which one of us is faster beat. XD
I've beat Mammon today! Gotta love using evade, spirit armor, and power staff to boost everything. I'm only 327 hp and 68 mp, but 330 hp when I'm up against Mammon due to having hit a lot increases my hp lvl. Plus I'd used magic drain to steal mp. Also healing spell at the beginning of the game. Save some hp and mp potions. I don't have magic barrier spell. Fire pillar walk is easy to dodge, same with his missile spell just run around in circle, and his last attack is impossible to dodge. XD
I got him! Use Evade2s and run to the opposite side of my range then W cutter3. Took a bit, and I only healed once with item heal lvl 2 did the rest. I just killed Mammon not long ago, about 5 min actually.(290hp 77mp 36 fire 1 earth 32 water 50 wind) never healed used heal lvl 2 when needed, only used 1 dragon potion i hit around 70-80 ea attack. King B was hard though used 1 hon bread and 3 sac waters. His green beam hurt and i couldnt avoid it. lots Evade2s and L. Cutters (140+ damage ea hit)
DUDE! USE LARGE CUTTER WHEN UR CLOSE!!! WIND CUTTER LVL 3! WHEN UR NOT! AND as for all of yall, lvl 50 is possible, but it takes forever to lvl once u reach around lvl 60 or so...but it is possible. And dude, no offence, but ur MP sox...mine is like...55 and im only past 3rd boss

Dude! At least use MAgic Barrier! I took almost no hits! And for an attack, I drowned that boss with LV3 water pillar! I would have used Avalanche but that kept on missing for some reason...rocks fell AWAY from the demon...btw all I got was 50 water/earth...wind and fire are kinda useless
Actually, you can get every spirit up to level fifty. So total you can get 200. I know because I'm not using cheats, and my elements are at 42 and 43.
The game gets a lot easier if you pump up your water element in the beginning to get healing really early. It takes away the need for healing items since your MP recovers fast. Plus if you use melee attacks for normal enemies in the beginning you can save all of your MP for healing.

I don't know if that did anything but i waited untill very late in the game before starting to take the spirits that are everywhere in the game.
Maybe that helped me?
But yes i did use a code to give myself ten more spirits that i was missing before the final boss.
My elements we're 40/50/50/50 before i cheat myself.

You can save in the inn.
In each town.
But you need a memory card.
Or you can download a emulator and with a emulator you can save and load anytime you want only by pressing f1 or f3 i think.
Like that you can save and before a boss and if you die you can reload. ^^

DUDE! USE LARGE CUTTER WHEN UR CLOSE!!! WIND CUTTER LVL 3! WHEN UR NOT! AND as for all of yall, lvl 50 is possible, but it takes forever to lvl once u reach around lvl 60 or so...but it is possible. And dude, no offence, but ur MP sox...mine is like...55 and im only past 3rd boss

Arf I wanted a hard fight if i wanted i could just kill him in 3 attack and with 0 damage. =D
So thats why i used some stupid attack like wind cutter lvl 1 or 2 and healing lvl 1.
Is just i hate all the video where the dude kill the final boss with always the same move or with no damage or in 1 little minute.
But thx for the comment you are right XD i was a noob in this video but go see my other video of Tales Of Eternia i am better in those.

Looks challenging...lol. Im stuck on...o, i forget his name..the dude with 1800 hp, guillty or something. I have almost 230hp and 75mp, lvl 30 water, 32 fire, 1 earth, and 50 wind...and I can't kill him, getting me frusterated.

hehe :) once you know the good magic the game is extremely easy. i bet anyone can kill him with only 1 point in fire magic with a lv1 fireball...that'd take 4ever thou :)

Dude! At least use MAgic Barrier! I took almost no hits! And for an attack, I drowned that boss with LV3 water pillar! I would have used Avalanche but that kept on missing for some reason...rocks fell AWAY from the demon...btw all I got was 50 water/earth...wind and fire are kinda useless

o lol, i only got past the 2nd boss, but my sister got past the third, then the game broke or something. she assumed it was his dad lol

i never see people do what i did. Use the fire power staff move and melee. At the end of the game i was hitting things in the 300-500 with the staff.

...did u use cheats? cuz the maximum spirits u can have is about 150 which equals 50-50-50-0....

I done this game so many time maybe what more that 20 time?.
So i used only 2 cheat to make the game more fun.
Cheat.
1: exp x10 so that why i have 50 to all.
2: alot of heal items.

Actually, you can get every spirit up to level fifty. So total you can get 200. I know because I'm not using cheats, and my elements are at 42 and 43.

The game gets a lot easier if you pump up your water element in the beginning to get healing really early. It takes away the need for healing items since your MP recovers fast. Plus if you use melee attacks for normal enemies in the beginning you can save all of your MP for healing.

alot of Training *yeah shit load of train* or if you dont want to train alot you can use gameshark codes. ;)
*If you play on a emulator* is super easy to play with codes
