I was talking to one of my SD instructors once and he told me this story. He had just landed and he was rolling up his "chute. As he was standing there he heard a loud pop behind him. He turned around and this guys feet were just off the ground when his reserve opened !
Seeing something like that is a good lesson to learn. When i did my AFF stage 7 i watched as a student i was learning with, had a cyprus fire at the same time he pulled his chute. (750ft) landed in a creek under one and a half canopies. Last time he ever jumped.
