@SuperQuickStick I would say black because there will always be some algaes growing and dirt floating around. Black would cover that better than light blue. I'm afraid that the light blue will only be like that for a short period.
@dognrunn I know people who have plants in their pond together with the Koi and they are fine with it. Koi like to digg around for food so it could be that the water becomes cloudy when they do that. Another option would be to use floating plant islands.
how many gallons is this pond and what size pump are you using, I have a 1500 gallon pond and the pump we bought is too small, along with the filitration system. I love your pond.
@pippie00044 This is a 2600 gallon pond (around 3000 gallons when including filter and plant filter area) with a Messner Delta 24000 filter and Messner Eco-Tec 13000 pump.
That's a nice project right there. Looks good. The only thing I would change would be to cover up the pump and skimmer but that's merely for aesthetic reasons. Good job!

I like your new koi pond... would it be safe to put plants in the water like were you would see the koi fish? Waterlilies?
