Very nice set up & key is rotating the foods as you purchase while in the store check the dates & put those items in the storage pantry while bringing up the food items that you need - trying to teach that to hubby & grandson while we're getting the food stores set up
I have a dehydrator the round style That I'm just getting started using & I picked up a used vac-sealer but have to find the instructions online because I'm not quite certain how to set it up, pressure canner is on my wish lis
Don't forget you can dehydrate canned foods as well, should they approach their exp. dates. My family loves dehyd. canned fruit - pineapple, papaya, peaches, pears, etc. but try dehyd. refried beans, diced tom, etc. Anyone know if you can dehyr. canned tuna, salmon? Never seen anyone cover that . . .
i used coupons for stockpiling... use coupons with a sale ... i just bought 10 boxes of cheerios for less than 4 bucks... im just saying.. but you have great tips... thanx for sharing...ps i have 4 kids so cereal does not last in my house lol
it's definetely worth it! I have an issue with all the heavy lifting too, but I'm so glad I did it. Now I vacuum or mylar everything with a box or paper bag, since the bugs like the glue in the box.
I'm happy with my "little store in the basement" though.

I hear you :) Mylar is a great invention! I notice the packaged foods in mylar are fresher much longer than regular plastic.
