Nike+iPod design flaw?

i've had my nano for over 4 years. it worked fine up until i started using nike plus. after about 400k (40 hours), i get similar problems. theres no problem with the sensor and i reset the ipod. the connection to the computer is solid, however the usb cord has fewer metal teeth than the nike receiver. i have had pretty good experience with apple's cheap chinese crap, so i'm inclined to hold nike responsible. however, shouldn't apple be responsible for doing exclusive business with nike and att?

I fixed my nano with a squirt of WD40 and a scrub with a toothbrush. You could use switch cleaner.

thats lame that apple wouldnt replace it. but apple for sure puts out awesome stuff. ive had 3 nanos a fith gen noow, the others broke because they went through the wash...twice each

I have a 3rd Gen iPod and the Nike Plus and alos have problems. Often fails to register the reciever, when it does it often fails to register the transmitter, and on the occasions it actually starts working often cuts out part way through a workout.

Unreliable junk.

Nike+Ipod is supposed to be for Ipod nano 3rd gen only

i accidently put my nano into my pocket, only to later realise as i took it out for some music that i had rammed it into a pot of vaseline o.o i had to pull the vaseline out of the connector and headphone socket.....it still works though so im happy (i would be if today i hadnt pulled it out my pocket to find the headphone socket filled with breadcrumbs from my sandwiches).....im still sorting that one....

u can have any generation of ipod nano to use it. But u must have an ipod nano. u cant use any other type of ipod though.

it's probably in Extras. How about going into settings and clicking main menu. Then find nike = iPod and click on. It will be there and recognise ur iPod nano.

Dude you have to actually run with the transmitter in your shoe, and run around for it to accurately give you pace value, waving your shoe in the air IS NOT running... that's why it says pace 0`00". Also you should get some kind of case to protect it from your sweat, and maybe look into getting a 2nd generation Nano, yours looks like it's at the end of its life.

that's probably cuz a 60GB has a hard disk, the nano has a flash memory. Flash memories have no problems with shaking. :)

Well I was going to suggest extra vitamins LOL. But I would think cleaning the contacts with some metal polish such as Brasso applied to a cotton bud should work. The contacts look very tarnished in the video.
