1980: great the best Irish entry 1981: totally annoying one of the worst winner 1982: charming not amazing 1983: her voice is a bit annoying here 1984: AMAZING SO COOL!! :D 1985: cheesy and boring 1986: a bit old fashioned but still charming 1987: Great but prefer 1980 1988: AMAZING VOICE 1989: The best winner :D
Wow, I so disagree with you. Corinne's voice sounded strained, and her face looked strained as well. Ofra Haza and Carola were both more talented and more beautiful than her, and I have no idea how she beat both of them. But there were three years in a row there ('82, '83 and '84), when Luxembourg just kept being overrated by those jury groups. I have to say though, that "Si la vie est cadeau" would have been a good song (though still not as good as "Chai" or "Främling") with a better singer.
В очередной раз, эта ретроспектива показала, всю убогость этого конкурса....Кроме АББА, никого достойного. Да и задолбал этот, ущербный французский язык!
Johnny Logan wrote Hold me now and also Why Me. Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan wrote The Rock 'n roll kids. Ireland had the best winners EVER!
@rocky3141 It's a common mistake to assume its the singers are contestants here but its a song contest not a singer contest. So actual winners are the composers. That being said even composers can be foreginers.
hahahahahahahah the song rock me baby hahahahaha its a joke how was the rest of the song that year must be joke the hole competition!!What a crap song hahahahahahah lots of the 80. song is shit compare to 70.s and the 90.s is worse exept the swedens song they are good!!
I agree, the most colourful years of eurovision ... and those years the competition was really felt!
Although I was born in 1984 in Albania which didn't compete those years, people watched Eurovision and expected every year.. Though 1989 and 1990 are the first years i have memories of a show on tv..
Also, Luxembourg's 1983 victory was their last, and 'Ne partez pas sans moi' is thus far the last French-language song to win Eurovision. Also, Morocco participated for the first and only time in 1980 with 'Bitaqat khub', still the only Eurovision entry entirely in Arabic.
1980 Nothing special
1981 Perfect!!!
1982 Reaches perfectness!!!
1983 Very touching song
1984 Amazing
1985 Nothing special
1986 Awesome!!!

1988 Extraordinary song!!!

Luxembourg gave always very good singers like baccara, France Gall
Perhaps Corrine is strained because her song is very tragic.
But her face is very full of sincerity and her voice wonderful

1987: Johnny Logan is good, but Italy should have won this year, with "Gente di mare" by Umberto & Raf.
1988: Celine Dion is good, but Luxembourg should have won this year, with "Croire" by Lara Fabian.
1989: This was a weak year, with no clear winner in my opinion. So I'm okay with Yugoslavia winning, even if "Rock me" is decent, but nothing more.
And by the way, where are the 90s?
Furienna 2 years ago 2
1980, 1981 and 1982: Three good winners in a row. There's nothing more to say here.
1983: This must be the most overrated winner of the 80s. Israel should have won in 1983, with "Chai" by Ofra Haza.
1984, 1985 and 1986: Another three good winners in a row. Enough said.
