    1985 Nothing special

  • In 1983 Israel should have won!

  • 1980-1989 decade= Eurovision Shit Contest. Exept Dion.

  • 1981 = cute =P

  • The eigthies: When you could win Eurovision without a sense of fashion.

In my opinion, the best decade so far.

Except for... well, I know many people are gonna hate me for this, but except for Johnny Logan. I find him boring.

  • Johnny Logan is a KING !!!!!! He deserved those winnings

  • making your mind up!

  • Belgium: 12 points

  • I freaked out when I saw Celine Dion since it said Sweden. Haha, then I read the description and was like "oooohh..."

  • 1987......the best song ever in E.S.C <3

  • what a shit ESC decade

  • Celine Dion was the best Eurovision winner!

  • 1) Hold me now

    2) J'aime la vie

  • 1987 best :D

  • 1980: great the best Irish entry 1981: totally annoying one of the worst winner 1982: charming not amazing 1983: her voice is a bit annoying here 1984: AMAZING SO COOL!! :D 1985: cheesy and boring 1986: a bit old fashioned but still charming 1987: Great but prefer 1980 1988: AMAZING VOICE 1989: The best winner :D
  • 1989 the best riva rock me yea...

  • Luxembourg gave always very good singers like baccara, France Gall

Perhaps Corrine is strained because her song is very tragic.

But her face is very full of sincerity and her voice wonderful

  • Wonderful Corinne Hermes, with a powerful voice and a an intrepretation full a mix emotions....

  • Wow, I so disagree with you. Corinne's voice sounded strained, and her face looked strained as well. Ofra Haza and Carola were both more talented and more beautiful than her, and I have no idea how she beat both of them. But there were three years in a row there ('82, '83 and '84), when Luxembourg just kept being overrated by those jury groups. I have to say though, that "Si la vie est cadeau" would have been a good song (though still not as good as "Chai" or "Främling") with a better singer.

  • @Furienna

    It's not a top it's a recap of winners :D

  • В очередной раз, эта ретроспектива показала, всю убогость этого конкурса....Кроме АББА, никого достойного.

  • Whoa Johnny won 2 times that's something, he's very talent and very good.

  • 1980..johnny i love you

  • I LOVE Nicole, she was my first girlfriend, and she didnt even know :(

  • wait 1982, WHICH germany?

  • @MutantNinjaFly Think about it... East Germany was behind the Iron Curtain.. no way they could have performed..

  • 1982, the best. <3

  • LOL - when the UK won the comp in 1981, they hosted the following year's ceremony in Harrogate. Seriously, WTF?!

  • Johnny Logan wrote Hold me now and also Why Me. Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan wrote The Rock 'n roll kids. Ireland had the best winners EVER!

  • La det Svinge!

  • What a voice from 1986 :) Impressive.

  • oh gott, wie schlecht muss die Konkurrenz gewesen sein, wenn selbst viele der Gewinner-Songs so mies klingen.

  • 1989 supreme winners! Croatian group Riva!

  • Now eurovision is pure shit...

  • CÉLiNE DiON!!!!! Elle est magnifiquement incroyable. Pas étonnant qu'elle est gagné. (L)

  • GO CELINE!!! :D

  • i don't even remember the 1983 one! The others are all classic eurovion but 83??? Never heard it before

  • Isn't celine dion canadian? why was she singing for switzerland?

  • @rocky3141

Because that was the year we had had enough. The Swiss took her in exchange for some clocks and a wheel of cheese.

  • @rocky3141 It's a common mistake to assume its the singers are contestants here but its a song contest not a singer contest. So actual winners are the composers. That being said even composers can be foreginers.

  • Johnny Logan is the best.

  • 1987 and 1989 the greatest songs! They deserved their wins, especially Rock me baby, awesome!!!

  • hahahahahahahah the song rock me baby hahahahaha its a joke how was the rest of the song that year must be joke the hole competition!!What a crap song hahahahahahah lots of the 80. song is shit compare to 70.s and the 90.s is worse exept the swedens song they are good!!

  • 1980 the best easily.

  • Rock Me Baby. I can't believe I'd forgotten that one, it's SO bad.

  • en 1983 CORINNE HERMES ETAIT LA MEILLEURE

  • Israel part of Europe? I thought they are in Mid East, after stealing land from Palestine.

  • Ireland...most successful eurovision country ever!!! come on Ireland!!

  • You're welcome to it!

  • Celine Dion from Switzerland!!!???

  • Celine Dion? She's from my home town of Repentigny just outside of Montreal. Last time I looked it was still in Canada.

  • That was an awesome compilation of all the 1980s winners of the EuroVision contest. Thank you for sharing this video you made and great job !

  • Awesome, 80's rock!

  • Rock me!!!!!!!!!! Ponos Hrvatske!

  • bivše jugoslavije ;)

  • I jedno i drugo :)

  • I agree, the most colourful years of eurovision ... and those years the competition was really felt!

Although I was born in 1984 in Albania which didn't compete those years, people watched Eurovision and expected every year.. Though 1989 and 1990 are the first years i have memories of a show on tv..

  • HOLD ME NOW is the best song ever...thank you for this video.....

  • Those were real Eurovision songs! Nice to have youtube to remember :)

  • 1988 the best!

  • I totally agree with you!!

  • Man, Luxembourg is a victory machine in Eurovision! Entertainment must be their No. 1 export.

  • Go Norwaaaaaaaaaaaaay! :-D

  • Also, Luxembourg's 1983 victory was their last, and 'Ne partez pas sans moi' is thus far the last French-language song to win Eurovision. Also, Morocco participated for the first and only time in 1980 with 'Bitaqat khub', still the only Eurovision entry entirely in Arabic.

  • 2nd best decade(behind 00s)

    3 Switzerland 1986

    2 Yugoslavia 1989

    1 United Kingdom 1988

  • 1987: Johnny Logan is good, but Italy should have won this year, with "Gente di mare" by Umberto & Raf.

1988: Celine Dion is good, but Luxembourg should have won this year, with "Croire" by Lara Fabian.

1989: This was a weak year, with no clear winner in my opinion. So I'm okay with Yugoslavia winning, even if "Rock me" is decent, but nothing more.

And by the way, where are the 90s?

  • 1980, 1981 and 1982: Three good winners in a row. There's nothing more to say here.

1983: This must be the most overrated winner of the 80s. Israel should have won in 1983, with "Chai" by Ofra Haza.

1984, 1985 and 1986: Another three good winners in a row. Enough said.

  • @Furienna CHAI should have won 1983??? You are delusional!!!

  • Nope, I'm not.

  • @Furienna

yes you are.. that song, performer, and performance all sucked donkee dikk

  • Wow, I totally disagree.

  • @Furienna in your very humble opinion

  • I don't want to 'complain' but the Contests in 1980 en 1976 were held in The Hague (or even better 'Den Haag'), not in 'Hague.'

    I love the idea though...

  • Yay!The next part!
