The saddest part is that one of his innocent victims was is so much pain during being tortured to death that he said ' just get it over and done with already'. That is what really just 'got' me. :( :( :( Check out the other music video of this song, some of the comments have the best explaination of the meaning of the song. Which is going deeper into the problem and to find some sort of understanding or realisation to prevent future issues such as these.
this is my favorite song but i don't fully understand what it means yet. i'm really stupid :o can someone help me. i got a little bit of it but it just hasn't clicked yet. great video btw :3
@Spice938 it's simply about one of America's notorious serial killers. He killed several young boys and literally buried them under his house. And this was back when America was still "innocent" so it came as even more of a shock. Just wiki his name and there's all the info u need.
@yellowsneakers234 oh thank you sooo much dude. yeah after i left this comment in a few hours i finally figured out it was about a serial killer but you finally cleared up for me that the check underneath the floorboards actually meant the bodies were down there. thank you very much dude.
I could see this being used in a serial killer film playing over the opening credits. Like a bio film about Gacy himself or the Night Stalker or someone else. It's so haunting and pretty that you get sucked in and then you realize what he's really singing about.
I guess (for me at least) I'm fascinated by madness and a type of mind I cannot fathom ever feeling or having. Maybe that's why people are fascinated by Manson and Gacy and Dahmer and the others. Because they were human and lived and breathed like we did, but they had something inside them that was evil and we didn't. Can you tell I took psychology in college ;-)
I remember first hearing this on Nip/Tuck when they talked to the serial killer who stitched bodies together. Such a haunting song but very creepy too.
@erinXtra, I know..its so twisted and evil and sick, but it is so shocking, its almost fascinating. that someone could go to that level of evil..like Jeffery Dahmer
i love this song. the story is scary i mean ugh. idk why, but im always interested in things like this not that i think they're good but their just so .. scary and .. interesting and ,unbelievable. and strange. and evil :(
@erinXtra Same, I thought I was fuckin' sadistic being interested in stuff like this and Charles Manson and stuff, turned out a lot of people on Youtube are! Pheeeew! :')
Yes, stay away from that Gacy movie. It is a horrible movie. Go see Dear Mr. Gacy in theaters. I think it's comimg out in March. Be prepared it's a very depressing story
gorgeous but i think you could've done a lot more work on metaphors, extending themes and motifs, esp with the whole 27 idea and the impermanence of life which is quite prevalenttt
regardless some really good stuff, the candle was very good
the video is a bit too didactic in parts i guess.. e.g. the glass and the swing set at the beginning.. they give it a kind of an amateur feeling.. you should go maybe a bit deeper in motions and metaphores.. by he way nice job..

Anyone see the Oprah episode earlier this year where she interviewed Gacy's sister and the only surviving son of Jim Jones?

This is a decent song, but it makes me so bitter when I listen to it. Ugh...his poor victims.

This doesn't do the song justice. Too many obvious visuals. But I'm glad you took a stab at it.
vergiggles 1 year ago
@vergiggles lol what's wrong with obvious visuals? The song isn't that metaphorical itself.

How do you do that pencil thing were u shade in and the number shows up?
Bsbeatty 2 years ago
you just need to put a raised object underneath. people do it of famous people's gravestones all the time.

It's 'he'd kill 10,000 people with the sleight of his hand', just a lil different
an amazing line, nonetheless
frankthetank99991 2 years ago
actually it is..." slight " not " sleight "
YacubH2961 2 years ago
sleight (n): Skillfulness in the use of the hands or body
whereas
slight (n): an act of slighting, a snub
