Go to the ZOOM site, it'll have a download for the Handy Share wih instructions, click and drag it or copy and paste.

Handy Share is not compatible with Mac's that run older Power PC processors or anything other than the latest Mac processor, so if you have an older Mac, or Power PC processor (like I do) handy share won't work.

ok, is it me or does the Handyshare editing software that comes with the camera suck?? I record a video with my band, and then when I'm done editing I can only save audio and video separately. I mean, why the fuck can't I just save the whole thing (audio and video) at once and upload it?? And why when I try to take my video straight from the camera to Movie Maker can I not hear any sound? I really think the Zoom Q3 itself is great, but I would just like to know if I am doing something wrong.

the q3 video is in the Mov format...when you want to load the videos on youtube or facebook it takes too much time because file size is about 150 Mb for a 3 minutes video!! i try to convert the video with total video converter (as i always do for every video) but it doesn't work! so i ask you..there's a way to convert the zoom q3 videos to MPEG videos???

Im using the H2 with a kodak Zi8...perfect audio and video...too bad they havent found a way yet to make it in to combo that would be that powerful and practical...720p 60fps...with a real mic array like zoom can build.

But it is just as well...the mic positioning for optimal recording of a piano isnt always in the same place that would get the best shot of the player...but excellent idea...the mics in all camcorders seem to stink big time.

Ive seen one of these in action, and i own a Flip HD, if the two were combined it would be better, if one day Zoom can develop this to have a better battry life (2 hours in video mode/ dont know just audio mode) with the HD 16:9 stuff it would be fantastic.

Reason why they havent developed it is that HD has a H.263/4 (never knw last digit) which uses AAC audio, while this uses MP3 audio with the MPEG4-SP codec. Future codecs please solve this!!!

I would buy one except for the fact it only shoots in 4:3 and not 16:9, they could have at least made it so it could have done WVGA (wide screen Standard Def).

Im really quite shocked that they choose to make the camera in 4:3,,, nothing is in 4:3 anymore, what was this company NOT thinking.

EVERYTHING is in 16:9 these days, even YouTube.

When they make a next generation that shoots in 16:9 I will buy one.

Ya cant even fit a whole band in a 4:3 video frame size.

The Q3 could have been a great idea, but the 4:3, 640x480 ruined it for me and IM sure many others that might have bought it.

What a stupid decission for Zoom to have made !!!!

Hmm.. it was released August 25th 2009. It was only just then that HD had hit YouTube and users wanted it more.

So maybe they developed it without realizing that there was a turn to HD.

you would think questions like that would be found on the website your uploading.... like youtube I havn't uploaded a video in a long time but I don't see why mov, mp4, wmv, wouldn't work. Mp3 for anything on the web I know for sure but wav is the best quality.

and it says you need tiger or leopard. Im thinking this is only for the software and I could get the q3 and edit the movies in imovie 4 which is what i use and upload to Ytube in the normal manner. thanks........paul

ZOOMs gives you their 'Handy Share' editing software on a 2 gig card, though change the SD card and you have to download Handy Share off the web onto the new card--SUCKS!

Only certain SD cards/comps can handle HS and I've never been able to get it to work on any new (compatible) SD card(s), its a nightmare. Its the current drag with the Q3.

Call the ZOOM tech dept. and bitch please!

Better solution; buy a Zoom H2 or H4N and a video recorder seperately and sync the audio and video together later.

This is what I think!

1st thing to come to mind is why anybody would want the mike attached to the camera to start with RE: too much noise! I think this camera is a piece of junk. Save your money and wait for something better to come a long, you will be glad you did. This was a quick made camra made to take your money in a hurry don't let it happen to you.

If you guys are going to come out with video wait until you can release HD video combined with 4 channel input and two onboard condenser mic's. Price it at $10000. Make sure it comes with wide angle lens and zoom lens 10X. Store everything on high bit rate/second 32GB flash cards. If I can videotape a band from my mixing console and use the 4 channel inputs to take in two separate stereo mixes from the mixer and live ambience, well.... You will have made the best product on Earth. "Zoom6nHD"

I'll also say that since I also have the zoom h2,,,I'll use that with the Q3. There is not always room to put the q3 in a location that gets good video AND good audio. I'll put the h2 in the good location, and dub it's audio onto the q3 later. (unless the q3 does a good enuf job on the audio) AVS Video editor 4 can accomplish that. And I repeat,,,this company's video sucks azz

well those statements are more tolerable. hehe. glad you got it figured out. it's not the best video for sure.. but for $250 and the sound.. still pretty sweet. Q3s audio is perfect.. just use it as your audio recorder if you need and grab an HD video camera. Their software is lame. Use Pinnacle 14 and Adobe Audition for fine tuning of audio and video. ...both completely free, if you find the right torrent site. ;)

lol.. you dumbass. you put an sd card in and press + to format or - to not format. That's it!!! the software is easy enough that a 1st grader could do it. Why are you having problems with this?!! You can also go to the zoom site and download the .pdf for free, which explains it on a kindergarten level.

Yes,,I am a dumbazz,,but I already formatted the disc,,but the download new sd card file doesnt work and gives me an error. Zoom in Japan emailed me back and said the Handyshare software is of minimal use,,,and other video editing software works much better,,so I am using other video editing software (AVS video editor 4) that works fine. I stand behind my original statement,,,this video is lame.
