The germans never paniced not even in 1945 ... propaganda like all warmovies made in england america and so on ... moral was always high even confronted with certain defeat
If the Dutch got her she would have ended up losing that red hair for having a German boyfriend, of course I'm also wondering if any of them might have been support personel from German, I'm completely ignorant if the Germans ever bothered to use civilians in support roles.
I have only visited Holland once but I found it to be a lovely country with very fine people. I have nothing but admiration for the Dutch. They and other European nations invaded by the Germans had a very rough time. They haven't forgotten and neither should we.
I'm just curious how brutal was the occupation? the concentration camps were never disclosed to the public, and considering that German soldiers dated local women, it does not seem to be brutal enough to be beating up your own women on the streets, unless i'm missing something, (i'm not trying to offend anyone, i really do not know)
Hitler saw us Dutch as a lost part of Germany, large procentage of the Dutch belongs to the Arian race, so we had it quite well. Though in the west in winter 1944 there was great need of food and people starve to death. The Slavic people had a other time because they didn't belong to the superior race.
Yes it is a real shame that our ancestors did that.. we should have been better in our manners then our enemy was.
C'mon these girls just had the bad luck of falling in love with a German. It would have been an offense if they had betrayed people, I don't think that most of these girls did that.

@herbertusgayerus This movie is such propaganda that it portrays an embarrassing Allied defeat...
I'm sorry you just discovered Germany has an arm of flesh like any other nation in the world. Have a good day.

Germany went mad in the 1930s but you're right, the ones who didn't run for their lives from the Nazis never panicked.

A shameful chapter of our past, indeed.
We Dutch are civilised people so we should have acted in a better way. Even after 5 years of brutal occupation.
