@cokebabies Yeah! The 1st time we stayed at the Contemporary we were totally unaware of this show. Very tired with jet-lag and in bed by 10 only to be woken up by the EWP!
Absolutely wonderful! What great memories that brings back! I first saw it back in 1973 when I was eleven years old and again in 1997 when I was thirty-something. I never get tired of it and the delight and awe it still brings me! I can't wait to see it again some day.
I came to youtube just to hear the music from this parade. The synthesizer that was used creates a whimsical theme to this parade for me. When you hear it live and are close enough, it makes your body shake! Some of these songs are newer than the original music. I wonder if they used the same synthesizer through the years? At any rate I love this parade. Thanks for posting.
@tanimab nope this version (the 4th one for the show was recorded by adifferent person. the First version was tghe Jean-Jeaque Perrey Gershon Kingsley recorded version of Baroque Hoedown. in '72 Disney tunes were layered over the track . in '77 when the Main Street Electrical Parade debuted inm Florida (as well as returned from hiatus in CA, Don Dorsey recorded new sountracks for both the MSEP & EWP,. it is believed the version heard here was recorded by Steve Skorjia
For me, this is six minutes of therapy. It brings back great memories. The first time we saw the show, we had just walked out of the luau at the Polynesian and it started right in front of us. It is a standard part of our Disney vacation to be sure and see this.
Ah, the memories of being tired after getting up for Magic Hours, and just as you are about to sleep, hearing this music blasted at volume level 100.
