  • What year was this?

  • Thanks so much for the up. It's fun seeing them in retrospective, what was and what was to come for SM.

  • J.K.'s accent was noticeable different back them

  • Thanks for uploading. Great mood! Absolutely lovely barely intelligible accents, must have been some laughs in homes. :-) The video is lovely, with Derek drumming.

  • I'm a little confused, if that video was shown on the same show as that interivew, then does that mean "Promised You A Miracle" was recorded well over a year before it was released? Becasue they were talking abotu "Empires and Dance" which was nearly two years before "PYAM" came out wasn't it?

  • If this was the time of "Empires and dance" sep 1980 then JIm would have been 21 years old. so cute. Simple Minds 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th albums are worth checking out - they are very good and nothing like their pomp stadium rock of 90s

  • Real to Reel, Empire and Dance and New gold Dream are my fav. albums

  • @starbuck125 You forget Life in a Day and Sons and fascination&Sister feelings call

  • The Minds sold out Toronto that early?? wow amazing

  • Yup. I grew up in NS, and the Minds were huge in certain circles there in the early 80s. My brothers and I really got into them when "Love Song" was released.

  • I want Derek's Tshirt badly.

  • Me Too!

  • Excellent, thank you! :) ...

  • I've just realises - MICHAEL MACINTYRE

  • simple minds best band of the 80's...they're still a great band!!

ps great band with the best drummer ever MEL GAYNOR!!

  • Great interview! Richard Berle contributed so much to cultivate the Montreal music scene and to our appreciation of diverse international musicians/bands. It's great to hear Richard's sexy voice again and to see his gorgeous face! Thanks Richard!

  • Love their song from the Breakfast Club soundtrack "Don't You Forget About Me." Also the song I Travel.

  • but promised you a miracle was from new gold dream which was after Epires ..?

  • @chefblanc Empires and dance was released in 1980

  • @MrDemilord mm i knew that .. ; ] cant think from 3 yrs ago why i made that comment .. .. promised you a miracle 1982..?
