My god they changed this level SO MUCH. Like the basic idea is the same, but almost the entire level design has changed entirely. From the layout of the mansion, to the location of guards. They took out the stalls in the streets. I wonder why they changed it so drastically...

Hey I got a question here...... When i play story mode in conviction, when i am running in the missions the screen shakes a little bit.....its worse when i run up and down the stairs. in the multiplayer modes, like hunter, it does not shake at all except when you throw grenades and stuff but that looks normal. is this like a frame rate issue in story mode?

The trick in games like this is to make things as realistic as possible while making the experience fun. More realism means more immersion, which is how you get the player to feel cool, scared and give a shit about Fisher's daughter. Realism, immersion are A HUGE PART OF THE GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE.

I'd have to say, this looks alot different than any splinter cell I've seen, but different isn't always bad. It kinda feels they've taken too much from other "console" games as you people are talking about, for example it reminds me of both assasins creed 2 and heavy rain.

But until I've played it I'm not critize it more than that.

It's not that it's "unrealistic," it's that they basically took EVERYTHING GOOD about the original Splinter Cells, took them out, and substituted them for half-baked shitty console action bullshit. I remember getting SC1 when I was in like middle school and being astounded at the level of maturity and innovation in the game.

Conviction is basically an action game for stupid console fags.

In my opinion, Chaos Theory was the best of the bunch in gameplay terms, but nothing beats the original Splinter Cell as far as awesome goes.

@pajamies4567 They got rid of that in Chaos Theory and replaced it with 4 alarms. With each alarm, the enemy adds a piece of armor (stage 1: all are alerted intead of relaxed, stage 2: helmets on, stage 3: body armor on, stage 4: fortified positions) in Double Agent they got rid of them completely

Metal Gear Solid made the stealth genre we know today (at least I read, don't play stealth)BUT I think this game is the best stealth game! And stop whining when you see an easy game. It's Sam going rogue, which is probably the best fuckin idea! This game's made for a huge audience - it's supposed to be full of opportunities! Now, even though Sam is much older, you just feel like a freako speedy super human. Using stealth is not only way too easy but completely pointless when you can just go guns ablazing with no consequence. I think what I'll miss the most is being able to go through a mission without killing anyone or being spotted.. After playing the demo.. It's nothing like the previous games. But it's still good imo. Do I agree with the way they went with it? no. But it's fun going from ninja mode to Jason Bourne badass mode. its different.. but it's still funny

yeah thats what i miss-the whole complete evasion aspect (how i liked to play every level) and carefully hiding any evidence of your presence (ie moving bodies of unconscious guards) is what im guna miss most. Plus the game was just more difficult! i beat the demo on the hardest difficulty on my first attempt with no challenge by just shooting everyone in my path.

In the demo it shows that you're in D.C. stopping an EMP bomb from being made, and in the launch trailer it shows Sam walking through the White House with dead bodies all over the place, but they never say that it was him who did it. So I guess it turns into something bigger?.. Let's just hope the story isn't as stupid as we think it is... i mean many people have already said that at first its for the daughter but it turns into something bigger. so.. we'll see.

Fisher needs to move much slower, loose the ability to perfectly mark and execute multiple targets with single miraculous shots, lower his health, and actually have guards respond to decent visual detection of Fisher or sounds he makes sliding, climbing, walking, etc

okay maybe not mark and execute but moving faster?? yeah! hes much older and hes moving faster than ever- look at 4:20, his hands barely move and he just zips along the edge as if hes weightless. Theres no way anybody could move that fast at the age and weight of fisher. And things like at 5:35, 6:50, and 8:45 are really unrealistic too-the gaurds didnt even react! Again i wana wait till the game fully comes out to give final judgement but right now it just seems pretty stupid

I agree the controls were weird the first play throughs of the demo, but after a while I realized the old controls were hard to get used to at first too. I think once you start playing the game the new controls will be much more intuitive. If you think of the layout of the controls they're similar to the way Mirror's Edge did theirs. I thought the controls for that game once you got used to how different they were they became second nature. I'm tired of the same controls for e/ game.
