thank you for this video. I tried it without hot water and I could not remove the gas pedal ... but my friend will help me when I drive to his garage. I do not have the tools... I thought it can be made from hand and with a screwdriver. ;)
i found it very difficult to get the top right corner on the brake and clutch so i took a knife and trimmed some of the rubber off around that corner. worked excellent made it a lot easier to get on and it still holds very firmly just like it would with the excess rubber :)
@AutoHowTV i have a question. i want to black out my tailights and headlights with the covers from american muscle for my 02 stang. but they aren't removable. where can i find some? or can you give me a tip on what to use for the tailight 'tape' so i can reuse them and remove them as much as i want and reapply them?
LOL im so sorry for this but i had to stop watching cuz when u first said 2 nuts my mind fell in the gutter and i started laughing then through the rest of the video it felt like u kept sayin nut lol SORRY nuts is a funny word (no homo)
I just ordered a set of these. My concern is the accelerator pedal...What size are those nuts? I don't have access to a vice, how can I hammer that pin out? How hard is it to get the cable out of/back in from the the top of the bracket?
Cable: Easy to remove (try filming at the same time though!)
Nuts: also easy. Should be 13mm
Pin: You'll have to use a hammer and punch and without a vice you should still be fine. Just hold it steady on the ground. Use a cloth underneath your new pedals when reinstalling the pin to keep them from being scratched.

Thanks for the guidance. I know I speak for all Mustang owners when I say that your videos are a big help. Now if only you did a Steeda Tri-Ax install vid....I'm about to tackle that project soon.
I found it easyer to boil a pot of water super hott and soak the brake/clutch in there for 10-15 mins and the rubber becomes real easy to manipulate..the heat is key it needs to really be hott though and i didnt need windex but i might have used a few curse words lol
it was about 25 degrees F in that garage...the pedals cooled in the 5 seconds I carried them from the pot to the car! Definitely made it more difficult
yeah drzflyest is right. When I say "wrestle with the pedal" I should have said "time to start cursing at the pedals". The Windex is key: it is slick but doesn't stay slippery for very long so your pedals stay put. Find the right angles and it becomes a lot easier...
how do u install lighted pedals

The brake and clutch covers were a pain but using a heat gun to soften the rubber made it a little easier.

Does any1 know what the pedal is for? the one to the very far left next to the clutch. Cause I have know idea. Can some1 pleze tell me!
TheMatstrike 2 years ago
It's called a 'dead pedal' and you are supposed to rest your foot on it when you are not pressing the clutch pedal.
AutoHowTV 2 years ago
Gas and Dead Petal, no problem.... 2 mins to install.
Brake and Clutch.... PAIN IN THE ARSE! Took me 30 mins to get those bastards on.

GREAT VIDEO, i have 2003 Ford Mustang GT and all you videos are great. Good thing you are not working on really new cards like 05+ .
gtvapsamtik 2 years ago
all the videos are great but any chance you'll be doing 2005 + mustangs? That will be a big help, great videos though

At some point in the near future I would like to move to the 05+ cars.

@FordsBetter516 if you plan to swap it out a lot it may be easiest to buy a separate set of tail lights...just a random thought!
