"Making little girls grow up too fast" Seriously? Them MOTHERING A BABY DOLL is acting grown up, not acting out the healthiest way to nurture and feed the baby. I really wish that we could get over our fear of breasts so that more women wouldn't think that bottle-feeding is the norm, or get shamed into it because of the negative stigma, and we'd have happier, healthier children. It's the same problem as shaming women for breastfeeding in public. Grow the hell up.

People with these kinds of superstitious fears of breast-feeding, are the ones with the actual issues to work out ;-) Not the mothers who are simply doing what mothers do ;-) Maybe the whole point of this product is to try to combat all the ignorance starting from an early age? Not sure, but I'd say that is as good a reason as any for this "toy" :-) It's just too bad that so many people have their priorities so mixed up...

Is there anything people WON'T get pissed off about? I'll admit I was scratching my head when I found out what this was, but I certainly wasn't angry.... Breastfeeding was supposed to be why humans evolved breasts in the first place. It's no different than the kid pretending to change the doll's diaper or something. I think the doll is stupid, however, it's no different than using any other doll to pretend to breastfeed. When I was a little kid I pretended to breastfeed my dolls all the time because that's what I saw my mother doing. I've seen other small girls do the same thing. Some businessperson somewhere just had the great idea of selling it right back to kids.

I'm 100% behind the idea of giving positive education about breastfeeding. I think it should happen in a parenthood class with this device/toy/whatever it should be called

i believe that a lot of the outrage over this comes from the section of society that views breastfeeding as icky, disgusting or just plain wrong.. same people who abused me when i discreetly breastfed my twins out in public.. shrug they were hungry, get over it.. I agree with aftoncaslow's statement that a lot of that attitude comes from viewing breasts as purely secondary sexual characteristics.. and yes ladyturtle5366 it is well overdue

@l4dyh4wk agreed!! are these from parents that actually breastfeed that find it wrong or parents that went the formula way.? i cant see a mom who breastfeeds and has a already toddler come into the room while its lunchtime and tell the child to leave making it seem that its something that she is doing is wrong.. and yeah if they made a doll that taught them about contractions that wuld be wrong lol but you dont hear ppl getting upset over bottle/formula feeding of other baby dolls

why do they even say its for girls?! i know many guys thats been playing with dolls when they were little and girls playing with cars and stuff, why should girls always learn about growing up and being a mom when all guys do is play with cars and action figures? why dont they get a doll to learn how to be dads? this is stupid.

C'mon, people! You're really going to flip out considering that this is only human nature? I'd rather have my child breast-fed than use formula, so the fact that it's a good method of teaching a good way to nurture and feed the baby, has me all for it. The method has several advantages over using formula, including quality time for the child and mother to bond, as well as most, if not all essential nutrients that the baby needs. of course, the latter can be affected by the mother's diet.

I would rather see my daughter pretend breastfeeding then bottle feeding. I have a feeling she will when my husband and I have our next baby.

We give these type of toys to our children (barbie dolls w/ kids, kitchen sets, baby dolls, grocery shopping toys), then we complain that that's not what a woman is only useful for..

@nakita1210 Would you give your daughter a baby doll that comes with a bottle? How is feeding a baby the way god and nature intended "disgusting"? This is a positive way of encouraging a return to the normal way a baby is supposed to be fed. This country has done a good job convincing our women that we can't birth or feed our babies over the last few decades. It's time to reverse that trend with things like this that re-normalize natural nutrition for babies.

This is fantastic. I have three children. My first I had a c-section and did not nurse because my husband at the time said that is was gross and I listened to his immature and narrow minded opinion. Two home births later, I am currently nursing my son who is two months old. Human bodies were designed to digest human milk, not any other mammal. You don't see cats or dogs using human milk to feed their young. Our sons and daughters need to know that nursing is a normal and natural part of life.

Pull the stick out people! When you're that age a doll is your baby. How do you take care of a baby? You feed it! Sorry if human nature is such a horrible thing. How many females out there 'breastfed' their dolls when they were young? My sisters and I did and there wasn't anything sinister about it. It's not like clothes are coming off or anything, it's just 'mum' taking care of her 'baby'. I thought we were all for family and caring an stuff like that?

We are so uptight in America. We view breasts as strictly sexual when really this is what they are for!! Anything that helps children understand that breastfeeding is positive and normal is great! There are pictures of my sister and I "breastfeeding" our baby dolls while my mom fed my brother on our couch....we wanted to be like our mom so it is bound to happen with this doll or another which again, is a good thing!

It's beyond time for our little girls to have a true model of what feeding an infant looks like. Babies drink milk from their mother. This is real life. Plastic bottles filled with crap is not what I want my kids to learn.
