  • Can't wait to get some 6 meter equipment . Looks like a lot of fun. 73

  • @usnerdoc Have you tried the VX-8 with the 6m dipole? If so, I would LOVE to see a video!

  • @stingray743 - VX-8 doesn't do USB unfortunately ;-(

  • @USNERDOC Haha I know that :-p I meant on FM.

  • @stingray743 - understood . . . well as you know there are mixed modes on 6m . . . I sure do wish the VX-8 did have USB mode as that would be a nice package. Just between you and I, that is how I figured out that the VX-8 did not have USB. I had it hooked up to my little dipole but could not make contacts . . . ONLY THEN did I read the manual to figure out there was no USB!

  • Howdy US NERD OC, I wish it was 44F here, but instead it's 84F today, glad to see you're posting vids again

  • @edarotag84 - Howdy! Thanks ;-)

  • I'm envious of you. I've tried to contact the ISS multiple times with no luck. I think my only problem is they arent ever on when they are passing over. Thanks so much for your videos though! They are very helpful. I've had my license since march of 2011 (Rough guess) and am just now getting over the fear of pressing that little PTT button. Thanks again for the videos and your interest in Amateur Radio!

  • @jasonization1 - I think the bigger problem is that they are not on the radio except for scheduled school contacts ;-(

I still listen, however until they decide to use some of there off time for guys like us ISS / NA1SS will remain silent.

  • Goes to show how the public doesnt really understand what amateur radio is. The neighbor needs to be given an intro course, and maybe we will gain one more for the cause.

  • @wcgems - Well said!

  • I look forward to see your video on mfg the dipole antenna!

  • No action today.
