I remember hiring out the MK VHS tape from the Video store and I remember seeing this KMFDM song spliced with scenes from the movie prior to the actual movie playing, it was then I was totally mesmerized by this Rock Industrial stuff at age 11. Some other Good song from the movie which didn't make it on the movie soundtrack was Stabbing Westward's Lies and Can't Happen Here.

The Mortal Kombat "Annihilation" OST changed my life. It was the first album/cassette I ever bought, my first taste of ROCK and it also introduced me to my favorite band of all times Megadeth and another favorite Rammstein. Not to mention the other amazing stuff by Scooter, Pitchshifter, and all the others I don't remember.

I'm sorry but Christopher Lambert was the best Raiden ever. Mortal Kombat 2 movie sucked mega-balls IMHO. The First movie was the best and so far all attempts to remake it or "re-envision" it have failed. Nothing will top the first one.

@lordfirefox I hope the third film will be even better than the first one - if it ever gets made, that is. :) But yeah, "Annihilation" sucks a big one. And even more so if you watch it in HD - you can clearly see sloppy green screen processing, with masks either revealing the background, or covering the actors. :) Oh well, at least the music was still good.

@lkirkup I beg to differ, I like the entire soundtrack. It may not be as good as the OST to the first film, but standing on its own it's still pretty good. IMO.

A Chris Nolan Mortal Kombat? BLEH, no thanks. It'll be 2 hours of boring, pretentious dialogue and maybe 10 minutes worth of fighting, with all the fun taken out and replaced with 'gritty realism'.

If you're basing that statement on his Batman movies or Memento, get a fucking clue. Batman isn't Mortal Kombat - the comics themselves have been more psychological thrillers than cartoony action beat-em-up's since 1986 (Frank Miller's TDK). He made the truest Batman films EVER, and if those are any indictation, then his take on Mortal Kombat should be equally as loyal.

Buddy!!! What? Oh, please...who almost buried Batman was that Joel Schumacher, with those carnival-party flicks, named "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". Man, when I watched "Batman Begins" back in 2005, by a mistake(I tried to watch Fantastic Four at that day, but I couldn't...Thanks God!!!) I got out from the movies ultra-excited, with my "chin down"(Open mouth...), wondered how Mr. Nolan did the best-ever hero movie in history! Couldn't expect the sequence...which was even beyond!

Oh, so cool! Mortal Kombat still has everything to be great again in Cinema, if it falls on the hands of centered and intelligent directors, such as Christopher Nolan, Guillermo del Toro, etc. The video and the score are great! The movie too. The problem is that it should be remade due to distortions in the story itself, more clear after you read the real stoyline in the games(Wikipedia too...). Wish it became a franchise, following the games's storyline. Yet, this movie's so entertaining!!!

No, Street Fighter was lame. This movie kicks ass. The second movie sucks, hardcore. A new MK movie, Devastation is coming with the actors who played Rayden Liu Kang Johnny Cage and Scorpion all reprising their roles :)
