just a thought. the tractors that run multiple aircraft piston engines must be able to haul some ass down a drag strip cause a rolls royce merlin or griffon engine can knock out around 2500bhp without breaking a sweat. and these guys are using 2 or 3!!
it is not about speed or anything like that it is about how big of motors u got. I should know because i pull these things. it also has to do with if u have weights and every thing like that in the right.
My uncle just sold his, the round front ones are helicopter engines, some as you see had 4. He ran 1 but they are junk for pulling, they break down all the time, loud as hell, burn tons of fuel, and require like 5 batteries to start the darn thing. He instead went to 4 Blown Big Block Alcohol Injected 468 cubic inch chevy's. His name is James Martell and his mods name was Boss Hogg. I am proud of him and it was something we watched him doing througout my childhood years.
well, they do usually have either 3 regular engines or 1 drag engine, so they'd probably do pretty good off the line. don't know about top speeds, though.

These things are not dragsters. A diesel/elecric locomotive has lots of power , however it is a poor choice for the drags.

probably not all that fast ..
for 1 it looks like theyd flip
secondly they are built for TORQUE not horsepower or top speed .. i doubt they are tuned for high speed at all

A Chevy chevette would be faster than these on the drag strip, but one of these could pull 50 chevettes in a line up a hill.
