  • I am lookin for a graphic designer for my CSS clan. Please add me skype to talk! I can also pay if ur work is good.

  • I think she did a good job at telling exactly what one does before the final logo is finished with the client. Simple is always better.

  • You know these videos are old when she tells about how the work can be done on a computer...now everything is done on a computer.

  • She's telling the ri8 process, ri8 approach 2 design a Logo. Doesn't matter which year she did that Logo. It's simple and effective.

  • a 10 year old logo... don't you have any more recent ones?

  • Does she really design on that thing? That computer seriously has to be from the early 90s. I'm confued.

  • wat does she keep lookin at?

  • This videos old, but take it from me, im a pro gamer, website designer, AND graphic designer. Im pro at video games, but amature in html/website design and graphic design. I use adobe photoshop cs5. I design logos for people on craigslist!

  • More responses from the untalented.

  • hahahahaha

All of her client's need a major refund.

and an apology for posing as a graphic designer!!

  • this isn't useful...

  • it is, what she sais is that its good if you make a few examples for your client, and that the logo should have a simple look, telling right on what its about.

  • what you desinging an atari game in the backgorund...get real.

  • I feel it really sucks for people with no talent to be so call designer or artist. Over the years I've seen too many designs that was done by the computer more that the person posing as a designer or artist. It seems the computer does 70% of the work and the designer do 30%. How can you tell a designer with true talent? Computers made it too easy for anyone to become a Graphic Designer. Well if you a true artist you will inner-stand this comment. Creativity is scarce these days. What Happen?

  • the sound for your computer is distracting

  • is that a virtual fish tank?lolz

  • If by "variety" she means "different colors of swirl," then yeah. Definitely. Wow. I'm amazed.

  • How much would you charge or how do you determine your prices for your clients?

  • Just because the logo's been used for 10 years, doesn't make it a timeless design. That "swoop" was beat, even 10 years ago. Also, learn about the company, do your market research and identify your client's competition BEFORE you go into your meeting. Potential clients appreciate your interest and extra effort.

  • and how many people did she answered? there are a lot of posts and no respond from the video owner

  • maybe i should do a design vid considering my work's a zillion times better....just hope she doesnt come looking for me haha she looks like a bodybuilder!

  • That computer looks 10 years old. I

  • joshrouwhorst 10?!? 1999 was 10-Years Ago...that was Pentium 3 800 MHZ Days...That looks like it's an intel Pentium (1) Processor with 133 MHZ Processor, & we're talking 1993 for that Processor....that was 16-Years Ago...

  • If it works why fix it. I have a PC with a MSI K8 mainboard, I still use for sound simply because the mainboard is so damned stable it never crashes. I have a far more modern PC with a year old mother board in it and its a bag of s*** and is forever crashing on me. I hate it. I always fall back to the MSI. They might be getting faster, but their getting worse. I don't even use Vista yet and a lot of companies I know are still running windows 95.

  • my local news paper still uses 98 because the software wont work n any other version.

  • because she might be able to rise beyond basic gradients and poorly rasterized typefaces

  • @intentionallyidiotic

Umm dudes its not a PC its a Mac, PowerPC, that is the fishtank from OS 8

  • It's a Power Macintosh G3. 1997-1999 timeframe.

And no, 800MHz was around 2001-2002.

  • I admire her knowledge in design elements... but all the "umms" and awkward pauses in middle of words and sentences are so aggravating!

  • I don't see her presenting her ideas to a corporate mogal do you, I hope her jobs not PR. Cough!!!

Logos should be everywhere you look.

  • What's wrong with these people ?

    Who is she?

Look at her arm, looks like Conans!

    Logo Sucks,

    She's a hot foxy lady!

  • your very beautiful i love your work i am a graphic arts to.

  • omg, not all companies want flashy logo's you know. ._.

she even mentioned that the company wanted just a SIMPLE logo...

  • Comment removed

  • summer 1997 bitches

  • Yeah, the video is much older than YouTube. That's a Macintosh PowerPC, a G3 version. You probably can't run Adobe CS2 on it. The logo styles also imply the video's age.

  • I can't tell if shes a MILF or a Cougar

  • Cougar...

  • This woman is a bodybulider.

Google her name - terri sileno

  • Upon further Googling, she works for the marketing dept. at a local Gold's Gym so she kinda mixed both her graphic design and kickboxing interests

  • it looks like that computer is from the early 90's

  • well DUH r u stupid? this is common sense moron, and wtfs with the lag. shes ugly. id rather see a blank screen wti ha voice over. real difficult design! i cud do that and ive only taken one year of graphics. thats pathetic. i mean, i no simple designs are sometimes better, but cmon. shes getting paid for THAT?!

  • When you are working as a designer, it's not about the things you can do. It's not about how advanced you are.

Companies don't want advanced, they want a design that someone can see, understand, and identify.

The fact that you've only taken one year of graphics explains you're misunderstanding of what a DESIGNER is.

  • if you didnt read what i actually wrote, i said logos should be simple. "ur misunderstanding what a designer is." dont think so. if u think that all designs HAVE to be simple, then ur the one thats misunderstanding

  • no, what you said was "logos should be simple, BUT even i can do that"

my point is its not what you can do, you don't know what she CAN do, other than produce and effective logo, which is obvious, as it was used for more than a decade.

    lets see you do that.

  • well, if someone asked me to make them a logo, i wud try. itd be easy. i dont care wut SHE can do. i was pointing out that she probably went to college, took courses on how to do this stuff, how to cooperate w/ the company to make the logo, and for what? whats the use? im still in high skool and i could do that. other than recognition and a degree, whats the point in all of that if ur just gunna make simple logos....

  • my point exactly!

no one is asking you to make a logo, because you didn't go to college for it, you don't know how to cooperate with a company, you aren't making CORPORATE money off of it, all you know how to do is cool things with software.

it's more than that. WAY more.

a real designer KNOWS it's not about what you can do. it's about the end result and how effective it is.

she obviously knows its effective because its been in use for over 10 years. but i already said that.

    get that?

  • i NO its way more. i take graphics seriosuly. im not just some stupid ass idiot who has no other clases to take. i want it to be my career. she knows NOW (or wen she made this video) that its effective. just becuz a company likes a logo and uses it for a while, theres no definite ammount of time to say that its effective forever, which it wont be.

  • if you want to have a career in graphic design, first thing to learn is quit trashing other designers. it makes you look extremely immature.

your argument is losing its punch by the way.

my point is she's successful, so shes obviously doing something right, correct?

  • i havnt slept in nearly 3 days, and i left that first comment a few days ago after i had a bad day. im over it. thats y i rly dont feel lik arguing with u.

  • That's such a copout... lol

  • WOW! I don't mean to be rude or anything.. but all you haters are like soo retarded! If you were smart enough then maybe you could look up and see that this video was added in 2009!! HOLY SHIT! Who cares what kind of computer it is!!

  • omg ami older then that computer, or younger(15 turning 16) it looks so old, i know they were like that in the 90s but wow the 98s at school looked better then that

  • doesn't matter what a pc looks like, also CRT monitors are wayy cheaper than those flat and shiny LCDs and for all we know that old case could be harboring an Intel Quad-Core and 2 nVidia 8800 GTXs

  • It's not.

  • Whow. How old is that computer? I'm not an Apple guy but I know they've come a long way from that. Congratulations for getting graphics work done on that thing lady. I wonder if she's into gymnastics(she looks in shape).

  • This is an old video, predates YouTube by years.

  • LOL u can hear the fish bubbles from the screen

  • I thought this would tell me step by step what to type into the computer what programs are used! Well hmmmm!!!

  • nice comp lol

  • thats the apple II isnt it?

  • no lol

  • what ever!! this is such!!

  • But how many hours did you expend for a simple logo? How can you make any money?

  • How to Design a Logo??? I didn't understand when she talked about that ...

  • I like the pc in the background. When was this video taken, 1995?

  • lol, no, they are just too poor to buy good stuff...

  • welcome to graphic design. lol

  • Well... atleast we know you made a logo for one company! whoever Central Hudson Electric is...

  • yeah, that really tells me how to design a logo...not

  • uhh....good one?

  • gradients in logos. never ever ever ever. it's a rule!!!!

    but good explanation

  • And um

  • It's the result that counts, not the age of the computer. You think you are more creative with a new computer or with pen and paper?

    MORON!

  • Coming up with the idea is much harder than doing the practical work. If you want to see someone designing a logo, have a look at Adobe InDesign or Illustrator Tutorials. Theres plenty of them on the net. She explaining more of the thinking and whats involved in designing a logo and thats a very important part.

  • she has nice muscles

    LOOOOOL

  • do you get paid one off, or do you get royalties?

  • first rate
