@worricktheweak Don't get me wrong, I love Ferry's sense of style, the artistry in each song and he was an admirer of the Beatles, Davies was obviously an admirer of Ferry and paid homage to this style of music, but Icehouse is genuinely brilliant in it's own right with the members being uniquely creative, not exactly mimics.
@worricktheweak I tipify them as pop groups with not so great vocalists. Icehouse like many Aussie groups preferred to stay home with the difficulty of distance, also few can lay claim to the musical talents of Icehouse and Icehouse is still performing, you probably have never heard of Cold Chisel either yet they are the premier group in Oz and still performing 40 years later.
@worricktheweak I know Roxy music from the 70's because I'm old enough but you need to listen to Icehouse/Flowers music from the 70's/80's, this was a band that composed it's own music, Davies is Conservatorium trained Oboeist, find "Man of Colours" composed, sung & played by Iva.
@worricktheweak You are obviously ignorant of the fact that Iva Davies is one of the most accomplished composer/performers you'll ever see, Sydney Conservatorium trained musician/composer with a multitude of songs, an accomplished Oboe player whom you unfairly lump with promotional hacks.
@Zzyyxxyyxx A Mullet? you are obviously BALD!! wanna see my so called Mullet!! fuckin stunning!! without my hair my life would have taken a totally different path!! thank GOD it didn't leave me!! WAHOOO!! keep rockin! BALDY!
@memorylane1980s I was referring to Iva Davies from ICEHOUSE! How the hell would I know what YOU look like!? And I got a full head of hair THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
Listening to this now, It sounds like Japan at the beginning, I never noticed that before. He sounds so much like David Sylvian.

12" extended mix of this is superb. (Not the U.S remix).

There is a really nice cover version of this song from 2001 by a german singer called Sven Schumacher.

A very young Guy Pratt on Bass, who has been with Pink Floyd for many years now. Great video, spooky keyboard player though :D

Great song, but Iva looks a little too Rick Astleyish in this one. I never thought I'd say this about a mullet, but it was a good idea in his case.
