have any self taught artist had the same experiences i have been having, where as you draw you continue to try different things until you find what looks to be the most realistic? and then from that point on (unless you find a better way) you continue to use that in your drawings of whatever it was

im impressed that you could draw that with just one pencil!! something like that would have me using at least two pencils (HB and 4B), a mouldable eraser, a soft eraser, a hard eraser, a tissue, and a colour shaper XD

haha Palmer well done again. Thanx for showing all those anime people how its done. Now they wont have to hide their mouths. Humans have mouths you know. You getting 49,000 hits just means the artist community is in need for actual skills. Anime is just a standardized way of hiding physical mistakes and weakeness in the artist by oversimplifying the human form.

lol i have to disagree on that. u probally havent seen all the drawing styles yet. remember that anime is more like cartoons with more of a human body structre (correct me if im wrong on this one) anyway hiding thoes parts make it easier. remember that anime was formed after people from japan were inspired by american cartoons such as bambi. lol im just sayin :) anime ppl do have mouths. it also shows the lips in most drawing styles. *getting to the point* lol i have nothing against u.

That's just absurd, Anime has a certain standard to it and if it exaggerates certain features, it's part of the image. It's a whole different branch of figure drawing, while also being a cartoon in a way. Not simple my friend, but more complex than Bambi or other English cartoons.
