question for prius owners: how do you decide when to use each mode? does it really make that much difference? why is there even a choice in modes? why can't the car just automatically react and switch "modes" without driver input?
toyota is the best brand ever! this prius is like a move to the future when you will be able to have 1000 cars into one and with a button change from a simple car to a pickup truck then to an SUV and then to a CrossOver.
@marshallhenderson81 You might want to wait. They're planning a plug-in Prius, a larger Prius, and a cooler-looking and least expensive Prius. Of course, there will still be the normal Prius. The larger Prius is coming this summer. The cheap, futuristic-looking Prius comes early next year, along with the plug-in Prius. And, of course, the normal Prius is available now.
Congratulations Toyota!! This new prius certaintly is something. What I wouldnt do to have one of those, and such a low base price too! Im definatly going to have to consider this, i was thinking about the insight, but compare this to the insight and the insight looks like it came from the stone age!
Hi there! Pricing for the 2010 Prius was just announced today. The third-generation Prius will be available in one grade with a starting MSRP of $21,000. If you'd like more info about pricing, check out the Toyota Prius Pricing Q and A. Group Vice President-Toyota Division Bob Carter gives some details.
@ToyotaUSA Having all these modes are just a waste! EV mode can only be used for 1.5 mile? Are u kidding me! And you have to be within very particular parameters to use it! And why have a power mode which wastes gas in a hybrid, no one buys a hybrid for power. JUst have one normal mode that is the most efficient! I don't want to have to constantly worry about modes while i'm driving! Also the plug in's 12 miles is a joke! Increase that to at least 50 miles and then the charging is worth it
@jonnosaurus the $21,000 in honestly does not get you any cool features they show you here. You are better off getting the prius 4 modle which is just under $30,000

is there really a need for EV mode? it looks like everyone will drive in ECO or PWR.

they forgot one more mode... free hand mode, which allow driver to take a nape while the car driving itself.
