My Interpretation of the Song:

There are a lot of things in this song that ring true. It describes how someone can even come to terms with the end of their life when faced with it, a truly scary scenario. It talks about the regrets and hopes that someone passing on has for those that are still living. The song shows how the greatest hope for people grieving a lost one comes from the dead themselves, not the person grieving. The deceased are always the bravest and wisest; only in their passing.
