Melinda is the very best not to have made it, could she have brought back Motown or a stylised version? Maybe not but what a better option than the talentless sorts we've seen for a long while..
Why nowadays Idol contestants dont show the same stage performances......these were the inspirational Idol years, (1) when there were 3 judges( who could actually judge), (2) When Paula was still here to make us laugh, (3) When We thought Simon would stay on Idol to be with his buds Randy and Paula

I think Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are the only real winners that have done well. American Idol needs to hang it up. Paula Abdul is a space cadet.

I agree with you her voice isn't special but still beautiful. however what sets her apart is her almost flawles technique and consistent delivery and interpretation of the music. I guess that can be attributed to her studying music at college

Anybody who enjoys a real singer who can stand the test of a capella performances and does not NEED all the studio touching up to make them sound good , buy her CD and support her .
