Ten years ago today(september 1 2001)....I was at this gig. I will never forget this day. What a fantastic experience. The sad thing is, that ten days later the world would be shook to the core by the worst terrorist attack ever. Happy and sad times indeed.
This is the best concert I've ever seen in my life. The "500 pounds" part is very touching:) The guys were in great shape at this concert, despite the fact that Bob Hewson died just before the concert. It felt a little bit on Bono.
I would hope people would learn the difference between "dodging taxes" and "minimizing your tax liability". I'm sure Bono deducts his mortgage interest (ok, i'm sure he doesn't actually have a mortgage but you get my point). Should we give him static for that? If Ireland wants U2 to keep all their business there, LOWER YOUR TAXES! It's like all the European tennis players going to Monaco. Why blame them?

Incredible day,Ireland beat Holland 1-0 to qualify for World Cup 2002 which was shown live on the screens.Then Moby turned the place into a giant rave whilst pausing for a moment to invite Ardal O'Hanlon (Fr Dougal Maguire) onstage for a beautiful rendition of My Lovely Horse! U2 came out and played an astonishing gig on the back of one of their great albums.
The whole day was just a big party.I was on a high for ten days after and then 9/11 happened...

I love this video, man. Excellent performance. Especially at 4:43, when Bono tells Edge to hold and wait for the build up. It's like waiting for a cork to pop out of the champagne bottle. Perfect timing and musicianship. Well played!

What a lot of remeberances they lived when they played tihs song...it was like coming back to that first time...if you don't feel it that way, then take a look at Larry Mullen Jr (1:58- 2:09) he simply doesn't smile, but here you could see the lot of emotions and great feelings that moved him to play the way he played the drums.
Man the whole band is on fire in this version! Bono sounds so freaking great! Brilliant vocals, also Edge lends a beautiful backing vocal as well. This version is a bit slower than the album version but this one packs more energy. This is why I love U2 so much. Their songs and the passion they have in their performances. Best version of "Out Of Control" !

You are truly right. I've seen a lot of live performances, but this is my favourite one, from beginning 'till the end. But this is not random: they're on home soil and, as i know, Bono's dad had been dead only for couple of days at the time they performed. At one point in the concert (Where the streets have no name, 0:53'), a lot of people share the opinnion that Bono yells "Father!".

@ndh2600 No man, that's an amazing moment. The kind of chemistry they have is incredible. The way Bono's able to signal when the song needs to come up and they all just feel the moment every time.
But whenever I get like that, I listen( and scream madly along with the lyrics ) to U2 because there is allways a song, that will allways make me feel a little bit better.
I've spend well above 500 on there product's and they are worth every penny of it.
@onewithu2 Brought my soon to be wife to this concert. It was her first time seeing U2 and her first Slane Concert. She says she has never seen anything like it since. Bono`s father had just died a few days before and they still did the show. Everyone there saw something special that night.

@onewithu2 Brought my soon to be wife to this concert. It was her first time seeing U2 and her first Slane Concert. She says she has never seen anything like it since. Bono`s father had just died a few days before and they still did the show. Everyone there saw something special that night.

Reading some of the Comments on here makes me laugh...All this stuff about Snow Patrol being shite and Rush wiping the floor .....It does my head in...If you dont like the Video then don't watch it or if you don't like U2 then why are you watching it....
Your turning Music into Politics...If it "Floats your Boat" then Happy days ...if not then that's your choice....just cos you may not like it,it doesn't mean a certain band or Singer is Shit...There's more things to worry about than Music.
