  • Firstly 1/4 inch is not old school it is high quality like xlr 1/8 inch is also known as computer sound cables or an audio mini a lot of false facts

  • this didnt help at all... :( how can I get my capture card device to show up on justintv/twitch?

  • @unholydeath123 It wasn't meant to be a full tutorial, only give you an idea of hardware at a budget price and still have great quality. If you need more help feel free to message me.

  • does the mixer bring the line in cable?

  • @XxvirtualXaldoxX Mixer only comes with power cable, nothing else.

  • @skatingpianist2611 Definitely worth it, I'm not sure if I mention it in this video but it's a great low budget setup/equipment and if you have a good computer and the right settings you can easily fool people to thinking it's almost HD.

  • whats that tv tuner called?

  • @eliteace117 ATI TV Wonder 600 USB

  • Quit saying "obviously" we obviously don't know if were watching this

  • @TheXBLWoody My bad haha don't take it personal

  • You can get those adapters and any store that sells electronics like radio shack.

  • @xXxGamerKidxXx Yes you can

  • Yeah, 480p as opposed to 1080p. Not really much difference right?

  • How come you didn't plug the 360 RCA audio cables to the RCA inputs on the mixer?

  • @NUReviews The RCA inputs on the mixer are for mediocre, less control, music input. I wanted to have full control over sound input therefore I bought the adapters and connect it directly via a line feed into the mixer.

  • @IluvVideogames me either...perhaps @Alec693 should help us by giving us a tutorial on the mixer?

  • im using a camcorder that uses firewire should it all sync up or will there be a lot of lag, thanks

  • I can't get any sound.

  • @IluvVideogames me either...perhaps @Alec693 should help us by giving us a tutorial on the mixer?

  • p.s. can u record games to or is this stream only?

  • @mikejclark You can record with this sure but there are better recording capture devices in that case...

  • @Alec693 trying to buy the best product that can do both with good quality at at a decent price lol ty for all the responses.

  • nvm :)

  • any chanc u can give us links to all that equipment to buy?

  • 1/4" jacks are the industry standard for professional audio just fyi.

  • I just bought this mixer it is brand new. For some reason the Mic input does not seem to want to work, any ideas i might be missing? This is the last thing that i need for my stream blarg lol..

  • @TheVintageGamer For some reason I had difficulties finding a microphone that working with the device. I tried using a headset microphone at first and it never worked no matter what. The lapel microphone you see in this video from Radioshack is the only one I purchased and luckily it worked.

  • Now days can't u just use a Dazzle?

  • @mikejclark Dazzle has far worse quality than the ATI TV Wonder 600 USB

  • so the only reason you have the mixer is to be able to talk in your stream. but if you just want to have audio from the game you dont need to the mixer right?

  • @zipper978 Correct

  • @Alec693 This is an older video. Would you still recommend this combo or a new setup for someone starting?

  • @mikejclark I still use it and works great if you don't want to spend money on an integrated graphics card, etc.

  • So pretty much this is the list that I need in order to broadcast live on ustream or justin?

Visiontek TV Wonder 600 HD 600 USB

ATI TV Wonder HD 600 USB

TV Wonder 600 USB on Ebay

I am only using a regular old TV with me btw. And do they have to be the same ones that you have? I am looking for good deals that runs good but not that expensive and where I can get them I need some suggestions. And lastly does this whole thing work for PS3?

  • what's your ustream

  • If the yellow cable goes straight from the xbox to the USB capture unit then how to you see the game you are playing on the TV?

  • @hlmem Iwas thinking the exact same thing.

  • Well obviously, there is obviously obviously obviously. So what you want to obviously do is obviously make it obviously sound obviously. So now obviously, my xbox is obviously, money obviously, and thats how i obviously stream on obviously jtv obviously.

There I just saved you 25 mins.

  • Not a bad video but I don't know how much of a tutorial it is, rather just a little summary/demonstration. At least that's how I feel because I have many unanswered questions by watching. Such as -

What if you have the new 360? It comes with a component cable only (green, blue red, white, red) what do you do then?

You only plug the video cable (yellow) into the coupler? No other ones, and you still get sound?

Also, a software run through would have been great.

  • @BoxOfMoons you need to get a intensity pro by black magic thats what I have I am just watching this video because I have to get my mic to work with game sound need the mixer to do that? you can stream in HD with th intensity pro 189 new at amazon I bought mine used on ebay for 140 with shipping

  • I thought Live Stream had the option to use a microphone on it's own over whatever is streaming, which would cancel the need of the mixer. Don't they?

  • Fresh of the Boat?

  • for the mic input on the mixer, do you use XLR or TRS 3.5mm to 1/4 adapter? im using a TRS gold plated and i dont know if its the type of mic im using or the mixer/ adapter? im trying to get the mic from my Trittion ax 720 to mix.

also, my sound works fine from my ps3, im using XLR adapters for that. where did you buy your mic adapter from?

  • its not a old mixer the xenyx line of mixers are the newest line. I just got a brand new Behringer xenyx 1204usb with the 1/4in jacks

  • Would I be able to use the XLR connector and the 6.3mm Line 1 connector at the same time? I want to be able to connect my laptop's audio in the 6.3mm input in Line 1 below the XLR, and mix them together with audio from my console in Line 3/4? so i can have my microphone, laptop for music and the consoles audio.?

  • Everything in this vid was pretty obvious... Obviously.

  • what kind of microphone do you use?

  • So i could put my microphone into line1, what about the RCA in the middle right? can i put my xbox into RCA Input and output to my capture card.. will that work and still mix them together?

  • @TVHighjacker Yes that will work only you won't have control of the soud output/input of your Xbox 360 if you use the "CD" labeled input/output.

  • agjgkfajdfg

  • Just so you guys know, you can get cheap versions of everything here for like, under 30 bucks pretty much.

  • hi i will my ps2 console streaming to justin.tv

what for tools and which adapter need it????

pls name from tools and adapter i will buying

    thx so much...

  • lol that's obviously hehe..

  • A.) YES THEY ARE USUALLY SEEN VERRYYY OFTEN! because it is a MUSIC recording music hahaha that's the #1 most common jack and

B.) Just get a dazzel man....woulda been SO MUCH EASIER

  • Wouldn't you be able to stream HD using a Hauppage HD DVR recorder?

  • what kind of connectors are you using on your mixer that let the red and white cables go into those jacks?

  • @bupkiss24 RCA to 1/4 inch jack you can find them at Radioshack or Best Buy

  • obviously

  • If you got the money and a beefy desktop, you can stream HD using a Blackmagic capture card... =D HDMI inputs are <3

  • the jackson the mixer are not old and not used anymore, 6,3mm are used for connecting instruments to mixers in proffesional equipment

  • Just had to point out that the inputs on your mixer aren't 'huge' because it's old. 1/4" inputs and standard on most mixers.

  • What websites can stream from a computers audio video input?

  • @XxIronManxX1 I don't know the answer to that off the top of my head and the only way to find out is to most likely try it for yourself on websites like justin.tv ustream stickam etc.

  • @Alec693 Nevermind, I downloaded ManyCam then opened Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 then select a region then go to justin.TV

  • why are you pluggin the xbox audio into the mixer.

  • @iPaSooN Because I want to mix the Xbox 360 sound with my voice and anything else going into the mixer before outputting it all onto my laptop

  • Where is your accent from?

  • @PabloDarioLi I'm Cuban and Venezuelan

  • OBVIOUSLY

  • This was by far the best setup video I have seen, very straight forward

  • @batman4pres Thank you

  • lmfao cos u dont see them anymore XD

    hahaha nooooooooooooooooooooooooob :P

  • but i dont have 70 dollars. i want to simply run the fuckin usb FROM THE FUCKIN XBOX to the fuckin LAPTOPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DO THEY MAKE LIFE SO HARD!

  • @flaresideg you can get a capture card for about 8 bucks now. called easycaps, not the best quality but definitely usable. go check them out.

  • @flaresideg Cause life isn't easy, get over it n00b

  • @Alec693 Obviously

  • Very good video man... but i can see your weerd wrist...maybe the camera angle glitch and do an optical ilusion. But thank for do this video and maybe im gonna use that. but i have the dazzle... poor quality but just 35$ for the setup. so, have a nice day.

  • @carltheshooter No weird wrist I'm not anorexic or anything it's just the camera and the light lol

  • is there a easy and cheap way but it still good looking??

  • @galvezhotboy this is the cheapest way, at least if you want to transmit your console and voice or anything else at the same time

  • 200 Doll Hairs

  • After you bought the cap card what are the materails you need in order to capture. like i have the software downloaded. and i dont what to do from there what are the additional parts i need. Im trying to capture halo 3 gameplay. my computer is like 5 ft. from my 360

  • Thanks for the info! ;)

  • HD PVR is high quality streaming (:

  • lol it's not an old mixer and those are 1/4" jacks, which is a jack for better quality sound because it can stream more. It's not oldschool at all lol. It's a music industrystandard

  • It's not "old school" or for the quality, it's just the standard most mixers, instruments, and other audio equipment ended up with.

Also, why not send the output from the mixer into the capture device instead of the mic jack? The RCA on that is going to be higher quality than your mic jack. There's also a chance that because the capture device has to process video that the audio from the mic jack won't sync with the video capture.

  • @seanjames777 Everything syncs fine and like I've mentioned in other comment replies the reason I don't have it going to the capture card is because, for some reason, Flash Media Encoder doesn't detect the sound RCAs on the capture card only the video connection

  • @seanjames777 It all syncs perfectly find and I can't run it into the capture card unfortunately because for some reason Flash Media Encoder (which is what I use to broadcast to justin.tv for example) does read the capture card as a sound input but it doesn't work, either thing is missing some support for the other object so there is no communication

  • how do you get the tv wonder to stream ? does it require software or...

  • I would very much appreciate if I can get information in regards to the cable connecting from the computer to the mixer, and where I can purchase. thanks!

  • @Earthbound12 musiciansfriend(dot)com

  • @Earthbound12 you can purchase the cable at Best Buy or even Radioshack it's an RCA to Mini cable

  • I'm thinking of buying an ATI 600 USB just to capture gameplay as I play on my 360. So would I just follow your setup except the audio cables would go to the capture card instead of the mixer?

  • @ShiNoTenchi17 Im selling my ATi between 40-50$

  • @ShiNoTenchi17 If you want to record gameplay you can connect everything directly to the capture card and just use the ATI Catalyst program to record gameplay. If you want to stream live to a website however you need to connect the sound separately (ie directly into a line in jack on your computer/laptop sound card)

  • @Alec693 You should be able to use the capture card's audio as an input. You just would need to setup your OS to use it as the audio input device.

  • why didn't you use the tape IN and OUT(behringer)? why didn't you use the beringer for audio, instead of your usb tunner?

    good video btw

ps: record your HD TV with a HD camera, way simplier

  • @felipebrasil5 he did use it for audio, the usb uses only the yellow cable as you can see, which is video.

  • i got all the things that he has in this video i just dont know got to set it up i dont hv a HD tv yet an i only hv to ports and video an audio an someone help me out i have a ps3 if u can help my i would appreciate it

  • @kenster545 You don't need to have an HDTV considering this USB capture card requires you to play in Standard Definition

  • @Alec693 ok ya i know but im talking about the red white an yellow ports i only have 2 an that white an yellow unlike a HD tv they hv more you know can you tell me how to set it up cuz i got all the stuff he has an i wanna know how to use my mixer with me ps3

  • @Alec693 cuz i spent like 200$ on the stuff an i dont wanna hav it an dont use it u know

  • Is it possible to just use the ATI wonder for both audio and video? Or do you really need a second device for the audio?

  • @FenixAiur For some reason the audio doesn't transmit through FME, the ATI does show up as a sound device but I got a mixer regardless to be able to control volume separately. Also having a mixer lets you do many more things while you're broadcasting when it comes to transmitting sound (ie speaking to audience or playing sounds from computer)

  • Thank you. I hope i get it right this time!!!

  • what's a dazzle do you really need one?

  • obviously you think everything is obvious

  • @trueshinchan Yes, yes I do

  • Whoa dude this is a great video on how to mix the voice and the audio from the 360 to hear your voice and the gameplay at the same time. Some videos you just dont know what they are talking about, but you did an excellent job! im favoriting and subscribeing and watching u stream and favoriteing your channel. This helped me alot.

  • im going to try it on my mac.... ive been looking for this video for a while... i had found it one day then lost it

  • all you fuckin need is a $10 easy cap and boom your live

  • @Flawrey True but that's why this video is for people that want to be able to do more

  • So when you say i need a capture card for my computer you mean that i need a program that allows me to record the video?

  • @TheToastedProduction No no, a capture card is a physical hardware, like what I'm using that connects through USB

  • So when you say i need a capture card for my computer you mean that i need a program that allows me to record the video?

  • So when you say i need a capture card for my computer you mean that i need a program that allows me to record the video?

  • lol bought mine ATI wonder for 10.00$ just dont know how to set it up to my 360 and get it to view on my computer help if u can

  • @LightNinjaboy09 Pretty much connect it the way I did in this video and it should all work perfectly fine.

  • I've watched but like it talks about the mixer. u should make a vid telling ppl step by step on just connecting the ati to the 360 and showing it connect on your laptop

  • @LightNinjaboy09 I will make additional videos VERY soon

  • That is not an "old school" mixer. It is actually a very modern analog mixer. You will see those "big holes" on even some of the most modern thousand dollar plus mixers. You will even find those "big holes" on electric guitars.

  • @kc9qyb I realize that now especially since I work at Best Buy as well. When I first purchased this mixer it came in a box that looked like it was dug up from Egypt so I thought it was actually old with the huge jacks and all but I was wrong haha

  • obviously! ;-)

  • Can we use any Mic for the input? Is there any suggestions?

  • Only suggestion I have is try using any mics you have lying around in your house by chance. I do know that for me at least I had to buy my lapel mic anyway because for some reason a pc mic didn't work.

  • @Alec693 ya i have two mics that they work for the PC but not my mixer. I have the adapter, 3.5mm one. But they don't work its like they don't get power or something. I can tell because my Logitech headset i can hear myself talk when it works when it doesn't i don't. Swiftor uses a battery powered one so maybe thats what i need.

  • not an oldschool mixer.. and those jacks arent reall old.. quarter inch jacks are popular when u work with stage microphones that dont need phantom power.

  • man, you are a very clear speaker, and laid it out very logically, enjoyed this tutorial

  • this is pretty helpful with the main idea of what is necessary, I'm going to try and find some cheaper equipment, but one thing that you didn't explain was what program you use to stream the incoming audio/video

  • media encoder is the program...it is the one that JTV uses.

  • Comment removed

  • it actually has a really good sound quality

  • Yeah it's cheap, price wise, but it gets the job done for me. It's not like I'm getting paid for running my JTV channel and all.

  • Yea man i do agree though you could get a great sound out of it its just how you run it etc. But good luck :D

  • could i do this by attaching a dazzle capture card for the video and use a microphone in the line in jack w/out the mixer

  • yes reaction my younger brother and i did a lot of vidios with a dazzle usb capture card as for the mic i would guess yes.

  • oh but then you wouldn't get game sound along with the mic...

  • This setup lets you use any capture card because all you're connecting to it is the video feed, all sound runs to the mixer which then goes to your computer mic jack.

  • yeah i knew that but i dont know why i posted that lol

  • Alec Nice vid.

My question is about the XENYX 502:

With this mixer can i have 2 MICs (example 1 with XLR and one with 1/8) ?

Can i control the volume for each of them?

  • Yes and yes.

  • @Alec693 name of console????

  • Thanks for the tutorial, have been really helpful. I have exact same mixer which I want to set up for a home karaoke using a laptop and a pair of active speakers. Can you help with the setup

  • I can help, just contact me.

  • thanks, i am trying to hook up my xenyx 502, with uca202, laptop, microphone and external speakers for a home karaoke system. on the flip side, I would like to use them for recording on laptop too. Appreciate your help

  • It's better if you message me here on YouTube or via somewhere else, having a conversation here is just going to fill it up with unnecessary comments. :)

  • obviously ure using obviously too muc,and some things are not obvious :P

  • So you're saying that you can play in sd with the hd cables hooked on your tv, and still output video through the composite cable? which allows you to play on the tv but also stream whats coming out of the yelow cable? how come you dont just plug the yellow one in your tv and use the composite out instread of taking an extra step?

  • @IRRULE or is it so you can switch to hd when your not streaming

  • So I can switch easily when not streaming, just gotta flip the SD/HD switch on the Xbox 360 AV Cable :)

  • lol yeah bro, 1/4 inch inputs have been around for a long time. You've just never messed with any real music equipment i guess.

  • You're right, I didn't know that heh and I bought it on eBay and came in the original box which looked like they dug it up in Africa or something.

  • hahaha yeah they come like that unfortuately =/ nice setup though , i just got this tihng called the phonic firefly 202 for firewire, checkit out its great, better than behringer

  • Oh, thanks for the heads up will definitely check it out, there's a lot of demand from my viewers to buy the actual setup I use right from me so I can sell it at any moment and upgrade

  • "obviously"

  • hey got a question, can you play in HD on your hdtv and still stream in SD on justintv at the same time? cause i wanna play in HD but also wanna stream at the same time.

  • This is a very comprehensive guide. Thanks for the video alec :)

  • hey man thankz for the video... no one on Jtv has a video made showing how everything is connected. I just bought the 502 for 80 bucks and all the connectors for 10... so under 100 for the mixer

  • Hi Alec693,

I cannot get Justin to work with my HD 600. I have not tried the RCA input but is giving me a hard time using the antenna any advice?

  • I've never tried using the antenna so unfortunately I can't help you with that, sorry.

  • 1/4 inch jack.. i see it everyone.. it's not old.

  • We've established that thank you.

  • You can stream w/ 3 mbps, probably a minimum though.

  • why do you run your audio through your tv? why not do it directly for better quality

  • Because I also need it to run to my tv if I want to listen to the game myself...without using headphones at least

  • Drinking Game Time!

For every time he says "Obviously", take one shot!

  • is 20mb broadband good enough to stream my ps3?

  • yes

  • yah pretty much in broadband is

  • im on 2mb broadband atm im using flash encoder and broadcasting at 232kbps lol. im hoping to get a better capture card only got easycap atm which means i need better internet.

  • I have a Behringer EURORACK UB802 I use for streaming, I get audio fine on my channel but can't hear my mic. Any suggestions?

  • hi, what are the av jacks called? so I can put them into my sound-mixer (mine has giant holes as well)

  • Can i use any mic for the behringer?

aND ALSO CAN I USE ANY MIC JACK OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE ONE LIKE YOURS?

  • I got my mixer (same one) at a Guitar Store for 45$

    long island guitar center

  • When i stream i cannot get my microphone audio to come through ive tried everything from messing with the audio knobs on the mixer to using different mics and 1/4" adapters is there anything that i might be doing wrong such as fme settings? Im currently using the windows xp operating system.

  • I have exactly the same problem
