  • oh of course that is how this devices use is justified. Some idiot will be instrumentalised by govt agents or govt agents will, from within a riot situation, covertly use a 'home made' one on cops.

There is documented evidence of how the petrol bombs used in the Paris 1968 demonstration were supplied by government agents.

    How it is done.

  • ...and when the 'mob' wheels on its own home made one in? what then?

  • get a concave mirror bounced right back!!!

  • 100% PURE AWESOMENESS. Now soldiers will have to do this once a year as well as the gas chamber. I can't wait to see it used on an actual riot. The last one I had in South Korea we were using shields and no clubs. That sucked.

  • Just proves the military, by use of its weapons at first, are slowly starting to be the ones to eventually police U.S. citizens.

  • 2001, the USMC announced a new weapon, “active denial technology”. It produces enormous pain by allegedly boiling the molecules of water in the human skin without damaging the skin itself. An article published in New Scientist, it employs pulsed electromagnetic radiation at a frequency of 95 GHz with a range of about 600 meters. The ADS weapon’s beam was reported to cause pain within 2 to 3 seconds, and becomes “intolerable after less than 5 seconds”.

  • they need omniheat

  • hahaha, those two were perfect for the job!

  • I see. What I meant is a honest test should be for them to stand there and not know when they will get zapped !

  • In the USMC you are allowed to shoot officers with heat rays?. I take it this is their next recruitment vid for non-commissioned ranks?

  • @WEAJonesy i dont know if you are allowed but if i was in the army and an officer tell me i can try a new non lethal weapon like this if i want, i would...

I would not test a tazer but this looks nice...

  • nothing like a shot gun to disperse a crowd

  • Normal people don't riot

  • Dont you mean cowards and sheep dont riot?

  • true dat.

  • @kb7ydu Normal people riot when they have a good cause. Who wouldn't when their lives and lives of their children are at stake.

If you are a sheep like the powers to be want you to be then yea, you won't riot never ever. You got your coke, tv, pc, burger and you are happy. Fra*k liberty and everything else that is good in life.

  • NOTICE THEY BOTH KEEP THEIR EYES CLOSED ! Normal rioting people wouldn't know when to do that.

  • then we should shot them roses

  • Rioters are criminals by definition. We could always use old fashioned methods like batons & gas. And if you have intact reflexes, then you will close your eyes whether you want to or not. Within less than 2 10ths of a second, your eyes will be shut.

  • human eyelid response protects the eyes.

  • It is for RIOT control. Read the definition of riot if you missed it. A peaceful protest is not a riot. Riots are where people are hurt & property damage is committed.

Then the ADS would be perfect. Unless you would prefer the traditional methods of batons, tear gas, dogs, water cannons, rubber bullets & tasers.

    So your bullshit is called.

Personally, I think when riot crosses the line to hurting people, deadly force should be used.

  • i agree and this should help because it is long distance so it will stop riot police getting involved with the crowd which is usually how people get hurt because the police get angry and become too violent and the rioters do the same, but the only danger is someone making the ray too focused so it can actually burn quickly and eventually go though walls which could happen, sorry about spelling

  • "Farraday-cage Clothing©" protect yourself from the coming surge of electonic weapons.

Upgrade to the solar powered model, complete with battery back up. Protest all day, loot all night!

  • Faraday cages are passive, they don't need power..

  • Right the only two choices are violence, or violence. There is always a way. Why do riots happen? I don't mean pissed off kids at a Motley Cru concert, but political demonstrations that go south. They are goaded, driven to a few making violent acts to justify your "only" way. See Montreal-spp, greece -cops break shop windows.

  • ogrishTWO - Why they happen is a question for the politicians to address. WHEN they happen is the situation the police are there to address.

And quite frankly when they start hurting people, I don't give a damn why they are rioting. Once they cross that line they are worthy of being stopped by force.

To put it on a personal level, if a man walked up to you and started beating you up for no reason, you are within your rights to shoot and kill him in self defense.

  • A riot is a personal assault writ large. And the ADS is a remarkably gentle way of saying "stop that." Much less dangerous than the traditional methods of water cannons, dogs, truncheons, tear gas, rubber bullets, bean bags, stingballs, flash-bangs, etc.

But if you would prefer that the police be limited to those traditional methods, then that is fine by me. Personally I think we are far to gentle to criminals these days anyway. Time to bring back the hanging judges.

  • just like tasers the intended use of these "tool" will become to enforce compliance.

"It gets in the cruiser or it gets the pain ray, again"

  • If "it" was rioting, then more power to them. It would be better if we stopped being so gentle to criminals. You throw a brick at the police, get a bullet in the head.

  • wow. you are a good sheep. acab. Why, power corrupts, you know these tools in the hands of hateful pricks will cause bigger problems. Like inspire someone to make thier own microwave cannon. simple cheap effective. Got Cancer?

  • ogrishTWO - Lol this "sheep" carries a pistol.

And please explain to me how a microwave is going to cause cancer.

    Ignoramous.

  • Hahhaa microwaves use concentrated radiation to heat an object. The process starts with water molecules absorbing the radiation causing them to move rapidly and heat your food. For humans, it would be similar but you need highly ionising radiation which would cause tumors and cancer. So if you were to take a microwave and concentrate the radiation into lets say a crowd of people it could cause long term problems if the person was only hit for about a minute.

  • Millimeter not microwave. Check the introduction. Signficant difference in effects. Also, check reaction time. No reason to every expose anyone for more than a couple of seconds.

  • Ouch, my sperm.

  • I'm selling chain mail and foil undies

    get them while stocks last!

no longer will your whilly need to be warm!

  • 2009 ADS is implemented. 2010 it breaks up a riot. Yay. 2011 due to positive PR, establishment begins referring to ADS as "crowd control". 2014 ADS is used to break up a "riot" of 40,000 protestors who broke a window. (example: WTO 1999 Seattle classified as "riot") Complacent turd #1 "Hey, I thought ADS was for real riot control" Complacent turd #2 "No, remember its for crowd control". "Oh." both go back to sipping slurpies. Your bullshit called. Riot is already a nebulous term. & the future?

  • Gee. I'm totally enthused about this technology. God knows people in positions of power never take a technology originally devised for one purpose and apply it in a totally different way. Riot control my ass. Soon any group doing something the establishment doesn't like is a "riot". Well, if I can't shoot 'em, I'll douse 'em with my hell hose! Agony anywhere I point it !

  • It is for RIOT control. Read the definition of riot if you missed it. A peaceful protest is not a riot. Riots are where people are hurt & property damage is committed.

  • Read my post again. The whole point is, the definition of riot will change. I actually acknowledged and emphasized bridging the difference between riots and protests. I'll call you Mr. Reading-comprehension.

Your illiterate bullshit has been called.

Know an opinion piece when you see one.

  • It is for RIOT control. Read the definition of riot if you missed it. A peaceful protest is not a riot. Riots are where people are hurt & property damage is committed.

  • Is it true that American standards of microwave safety considers solely heat effect, not CNS consequences ? I'm not about to suggest possible reasons for this, but... :]

  • morons

  • i think the people who invented this device that most likeley costs billions of dollars is a wee little bit smarter than all of you retards and i think that maybe a half a decade if not more of reasearch and testing just might have been done to make sure that these things are absoluteley safe. but oh wait you guys sitting at your computers who have like no phds and no billions of dollars are probably smarter. LOL!!

  • Oh, yes. Invention of Snake Oil was a truly genial idea. I agree. But how it's related to being Ph.D. ?..

  • Oh, yeah, sure I trust the safety testing. Its just the US military. We've already got insect genes in our tomatoes, and insecticide bred into our corn, and now the FDA is saying there's no reason to monitor clone-offspring meat in our food supply. Not to mention approx. 100,000 chemicals in our foods and products that have never been tested individually, no less for combined synergistic effects. But an energy weapon using high-powered radiation being tested for safety. Of course I trust them.

  • .... they must have turned it off Really fast seeing as how she walked back into the ray at the end......

  • no she was outside the circle

  • hahahahaha

  • Sorry but what struck me was the nervous waiting, then the amused "heh heh heh" at the end.. I bet they love demos like this.

  • compliance machine ..the police will get this and start to use it instead of talking. The stun gun was suppose to replace fire arms it actually replaced the arrest technic training and nightstick training so as soon as they get this oh yeah loads of fun..lets go make the grannys move i freaking hate bird feeders!

  • that's so weird
