Does anyone know of an episode where a women buys a gift for her husband and it is a deadly snake. She gives the box to him and thinks he is dead but the snake escapes and hides. She goes in to take a bath and finds it. Maybe in night gallery of another tv show.
Can ANYONE, and I mean anyone tell me which series contained an episode when a wealthy, miserly old bastard woke up and he was the only man on earth, and went insane in his loneliness ... Night Gallery, Alfred Hitchcock, The Twilight Zone. Anyone? I've been looking all over for this one episode; I must've seen it when I was like 10, and it scared the hell out of me more than 20 years later. Thanks!
@GODDESSKARENBLACK Yeah, 94. But I liked Eva better. How's this for a sitcom idea? Eva slaps another policeman in the face and ends up in the same prison cell as Martha Stewart, who just robbed another "Bed & Bath" store in order to steal all the soap and sell it at a profit on the black market. A silky terrier shows up and wriggles in, and they have to hide it. (The "mystery" element of the show.) It could be a sort of "Golden Girls" behind bars. Betty White could guest star.
this is one of my favorites. plus the contrast of a eerie mirror with an improbable ancient jungle behind it--and the greedy shop keeper--who wins? the dinosaurs-- in delicious irony.
I wonder if that construction footage @ :55 was of the World Trade Center since it was around that era. That would have been the making of the giant bath tub basement.
^ And now that I watch it again, I guess it's sort of a comment on 'urban blight'. That's why the clip opens with lots of traffic noise and construction. When Ms. Gabor gets trapped in the mirror, all the prehistoric animals are there to represent how nature will always win in the end... Or, something like that,...
I never realized that until now. The character Gabor played, being an enemy to all that is old and outdated. New doorbells. New this. New music. And thus lost out to the dinosaurs, so to speak. Nicely done.
My Lord ! This is some brilliant TV ! I remember watching old of 'Night Gallery' when I was a kid... I think it changed me for life. There's an odd, LSD-influenced vibe to these episodes... If something like this was aired today, it would be dismissed as nonsense. But, 'nonsense' is relative, isn't it ?
Josh, you are sooo right. I remember commenting on another episode the same way. It's like I get a "high" when I learn of the ending. I always try to guess the ending each time. I was only right a couple of times, but I still enjoyed them sooo much.
I agree also Joshua! They don't make TV like this anymore! I used to love watching Night Gallery when I was a kid and when they had it on the Sci-Fi channel many years ago. Rod Serling was amazing

Zsa Zsa Gabor once said she wishes she could have made a better Lisa Douglas than her sister, Eva, on Green Acres-

Arthur O'Connell was a great stage, movie and TV actor. Twice nominated for an Academy Award.
My favorite of all his roles was as the Chaplain in The Poseidon Adventure (1972)

Aurthur O'Cconnel, was very successful as a senior citizen in television.
He was most famous for advertising CREST tooth paste on television.
CREST is what I use today.
He also appeared in a number of movies to include the Hiding Place, which was another 1970's film about World War Two in Holland.
The Gabor sisters were also famous, with the other sister as a main star in GREEN ACRES.
