Ask a atheist how can mutations(recombing of the genetic code) create any new improved varieties. When, where and how did life come from non-living mater! The genetic code is predetermind in the cell and it can't be taken apart and put back togather to make a new species. If we are here by natural selection then how come scientist have to keep our cells in a lab and not in the dirt if it was natural selection! These questions stump them every time!
2. Abiogensis, is handled in the Miller-Urey experiement
3. The genetic code is not predetermined in the manner you seem to believe
4. Taking genes apart and putting them back together to make something new is the whole point of meiosis (Sex)
5. Scientists keep their lab samples away from dirt to keep them from getting dirty. This fact has nothing to do with natural selection. You flaunt your ignorance by asking this question.
@SagaciousNJ Sorry but no mutation has prove that a animal can change into a human. The genetic code is predetermind if it is a human or animal I didn't say sex hello. The fact that scientist can't replicate the big bang or change a animal into a human proves that evolution didn't happen. Even if a scientist manipulate cells proves design not natural selection
@ada2step We are animals, the only thing that we can do that animals cant is discrete mathematics. You sir are arguing from ignorance...We are made up of the same materials as every animal on this planet...and evolution doesnt say that one animal changed into a different type. It has never said that a primate can change into something that isn't a primate....read, educate yourself, then type...
@gsusreloded No we are not animals! Animals can't build computers, drive cars, debate, practice medicine. You are agueing from ignorance!!! Just because we have eyes, skin, ear ect doesn't mean that we came from animals. What were we supposed to be made of rubber, steal! That is a dumb aguement! I have proof in my life that god is real and there isn't anything that you have said to convince me other wise
@ada2step you can believe what you would like, but the science is clear. It doesnt mean that you cant believe in god, but your science is utterly wrong. And if youre trying to find "scientific" evidence for gods existence then your faith has become meaningless. It can still be real to you but its not scientifically real, and there is no "scientific" proof that your god is real. In science we are primates and its a classification nothing more.
@ada2step You ask "what were we supposed to be made of rubber, steel?"
And I ask: Why not?: Only one of us is putting forward the existence of a limitlessly powerful being, such a being would not need to be lazy and use carbon based life every instance, nor would such a being be obligated to leave copies of useless ancestral DNA inside of us from earlier species of animals.
These things make sense from an evolutionary perspective, but they pose issues for your clown-car deity based universe.
@ada2step I respond At the risk of beating a dead horse. Members of one species can become a new species, they won't turn into one that already exists. If we we broaden ourselves to seek person-hood then we can find mutations that confer an emergent "humanity" in: African Grey parrots, Other Great Apes, elephants and dolphins. In these cases single members of a species have uncommon mutations that make them bright enough to do simple math, and understand their own existence.
Good job. I think though you can change the title to:
"Random Questions Theists will look stupid in just asking such drivel"
Almost all creationists have no idea about science. Those that actually do are the ones raking in the cash writing books for the ignorant to feel good about believing and not thinking and checking things out and learning for themselves
Great opening! THAT'S how you set up an argument against a theist.
His video backfired...there are a number of people answering well on his questions. His talking points were pretty much pointless and all made out of ignorance. Good answers despite his claims.
Futhermore, with all due respect, your explaination for denying the existence of God is devoid of any theological understanding. That is to say, that your knowledge of the Judeo-Christian Bible is (or seems to be) very limited. Therefore, I would only ask that you practice what you preach, and educate yourself on the topic before you engage in an intellectual discourse.
@gsusreloded I apologize, but you have misunderstood me. I never said you haven't read the bible. I simply stated that you knowledge of the Bible is very limited in terms of a Judeo-Christian Theological standpoint. For ex, your comment about creation & the pillar of salt. In actuality the two have nothing to do with each other. Also, comparing God to a modern day engineer is completely devoid of any theological understanding. Simply because you read the Bible, it does not mean you understood it
@gsusreloded Also, I noticed you replied to my second comment, but ignored my first. I'm very interested to hear your views on the topics & issues I raised; at your earliest convenience ofcoarse.
@gsusreloded: Very Interesting. Do you believe that evolution can explain the origin of life? If so, what are your thoughts on Rudolf Ludwig Karl Virchow's Theory of Biogentics? You also stated that organisms are still (currently) evolving; is that to say that you are a Phyletic gradualist (like Richard Dawkins) or do you agree with S.J. Gould's theory of Punctuated Equilibrium? Also, you stated that the universe is always moving; if so, what are your thoughts on Thomas Aquinas's 5 Way's?
@JustS1611 first evolution doesn't explain lifes origin, just how to changes (abiogenisis) second Rudolf info was outdated. 3rd dawkins and gould dont disagree so this doesn't make any sense and the universe is always expanding, movement is relative, so Im not sure what you're getting at. And 5 ways are mostly intellectual dishonesty, or fallicies
@gsusreloded 1) Please tell me which Scientist says Virchow's theory is outdated. A theory that is still used everyday in genetic research (i.e. In vitro fertilisation). Any scientist who would state that it is outdated would have a lot of explaining to do. 2) Dawkins made several comments about his disagreement with S.J. Gould's theory (in books & Interviews) 3) What Logical fallicies exist in the 5 ways? U do know every fallicy has name? So which logical principle does it violate?
@gsusreloded That would be greatly appreciated. However, I must ask that you cite your sources when responding. I only ask because I have studied various evolutionary sciences, as well as philosophical writings & principles; & I have never come across any acedemic resource that would refer to Virchow's theory as outdated or Aquinas's 5 Ways as logical fallacies.
@JustS1611 Im not saying Virchow was wrong, he founded a science, but his opinions on biology would be outdated because he didnt know what we know now.
And Aquinas constantly shifts from science to philosophy, the biggest fallacy here is
the conclusion are not supported by the premises...
@gsusreloded As far as Virchow is concerned; Yes, his research was a long time ago. Nevertheless, the results of that research (i.e. his theory on biogenetics) are just as true today as they were during his career. Don't you agree? Furthermore, I must disagree with your critique of Aquinas's 5 ways, but why argue when we can yield to the experts? Can you produce an acedemic source that can support your analysis of his treatise? Or is it just your opinion?
but OK im done filling up your page with my blah blah blah and typos though LOL good videos and i'm glad you are inciteful with your responses i keep an open mind i like to learn/listen.
One more point and im talking way to much but this is it. When you quote the bible please get it all.. He was never mad at "?"s wife when she turned into a pillow of salt while(supposedly) fleeing Sodom and Gamorrah. It was a warning to not look back at the place while God attempted to save there's lives while that place was being destroyed. But disobedient looked back and didn't follow God's instruction so her fault When U tell a child not to touch a stop top when it s hot. her fault
1. True or false: Lot's wife would not have turned into a pillar of salt without God taking direct action.
2. What is the morally relevant difference between God's action (or inaction) and the "why do you gotta make me hit you, baby" mentality of spouse abusers?
First answer : False God didn't take any action on Lot's wife read the story again in all versions of the bible it was stated that the action of looking back would cause her to turn into a pillar of salt... It's that same thing as if there is a stove turned on and you don't remove your hand immediately you are likely to get burned... 2nd: there is no moral difference but a basic difference as an abuser makes that statement to ease his mind of the wrong reaction he takes when angry
continuing any version of the bible(which is the only source not found untrue yet that gives us incite into God) it says God never takes pleasure or relief in causing us pain or death he was in fact hurt emotionally by it which was the whole reason for Christ and salvation Ok no more spiritual talk but this I say...Life we have choices all of which we react to that bring either negative or positive consequences. If you wanna take God out of the equation fine then its fact more so
@JMAdvocatusD lastly, We wanna take God out of ever equation but as soon as we can't figure Out something we stick him in the equation again to have someone to blame for evil stuff that "WE DO AS HUMAN BEINGS to each other" Free will , and Choice if these are our Ultimates even if they were given by GOD its Freedom to choose so who should be blamed Ourselves .. Im a Christian but Christian or not IM Bias of all things like you but i will defend a GOD/Person who only has tried to help us live
@JMAdvocatusD Man i am not trying to win anything i just wanted to answer the questions you gave me from my view and info into it...You can be the winner but as soon as youtube start giving out trophies though then I'm going to want my win back :P
Finally just to kinda clear up my last point its not he everything we do was planned...Because unlike animals who act on instinct alone(FACT) we act with instinct and choice we can choose to do whatever whatever we want good or bad. SO back to the point the God (that he says he is) knew what was going to happen so he planned according that's all. he didntn't cause or interfere(tough fact) with our actions it would have been pointless.
@gsusreloded my point was not that we make rational or intellectual choices or if most or some humans did it but you provide my point that we have choice and instinct. Animals just do out instinct there is no morality or other means of having a decision they react to the situation. We get to choose how we act to a situation. Example an animal will not for any reason kill itself willingly or knowingly. May naw a leg off to "live" maybe
@marclee82 and dying to protect its offspring is just instinct as well the situation is the animal will put itself in harms way but death is not in the hands of the animal but the predator or harmful event unfolding so unless they kill her she wil protect them and herself as well. I just think its sad that we can choose to be destructive to ourselves or each other which is why our histories are full of so much bloodshed for greed or jealousy or whatever
@gsusreloded Okay so ppl don't get the wrong idea this is just my view of things i don't think I know remotely everything quiet little actually but from what i study and my conclusion this what i give so anywho..... instinct is defined basically as the determined reaction to any given situation... Humans are rarely rational and intellectual yes true but the reason why seems to be how we choose we based on feelings not the logical or rational choice but how it makes us feel from it ment/phys
@gsusreloded Not only that, but research on the morality of animals has been turning up some interesting findings lately. To say that ALL animals act ALWAYS on instinct is pretty premature and ignorant.
Here's my point the only time in the bible when everything GOD saw was good was at the beginning of what he says is the days of creation...Through the bible it states we fell away from him numerous and if we are not with Good(God) we are Bad left/right yin/yang um soo him still being God (as he states in the bible) yes he planned for what happened to try and save us from or yourselves in the end(as it states: Im trying to be bias for parties sake) But yes that means we are in his plan.....
Okay first no religious battle here i believe in God though i believe in created evolution because nobody can just say it just happened because energy is always transfered am i correct can't be created or destroyed is the law right. Anywho, your point "If everything is in God's plan and God is the greatest good then isn't everything good." What does good mean. Okay don't know your knowledge of God and the Bible but if your going to talk on God i hoped you studied just as much of GOD.......
My Dog keeps trying to have sex with my leg, could you please explain to him that My leg and Him are not the same species. If only someone had told him this earlier it would have saved us both a lot of embarrassment.
I think he also believes the Postman is the Anti-Christ. That's not such a problem because the Postman is always on strike these days. Is he deluded?
Hey gsus : I've watched 3 of your responses so far, and just wanted to say,"keep those responses coming!!" Your doing a great job. It's a hard thing to try and explain to someone that they are ignorant...in a nice way. : )
Theist's fear evolution because the Bible says the earth was created in 6 days. What they miss is that the author of Genisis wrote the book 2000 years after the events of Genisis. This means it must've been written poetically. It still can be God inspired as much poetry and metaphorical writing is, or so I believe it is. They also neglect 2 Peter 3:8 - "With God one day is a thousand years and a thousand years is one day." Christains have to look at context and timing of Biblical writings.
Yeah, but....Occam's Razor. WHy have a big morass of Biblical stuff that is only metaphorical when naturalistic explanations work just as well, and actually produce usable results?
So if someone 6000 years from now read the poem by Robert Frost, "The road not taken", where he uses imagery for two roads that someone could take to make a point about choosing the road of life that most people dont... it would be easier for them to aaume that the poem was a literal event that actually took place, but in areality it was a poem using a metaphorical story. Occams razor is a good rule of thumb but the simplest answer isn't always the right answer.
That it was an actual event would not be the simplest answer. THe simplest answer based on nothing but the original text would be "we don't know if this happened". Only after there is substantial corroborating evidence could one conclude that it was an actual event. And then it would be simpler than saying parts are real and parts metaphorical based on some arbitrary system to tell the two apart.
Also, that isn't what Occam's Razor is. The simplest answer certainly is not always correct, and the razor does not suggest so. The razor states that if given the choice between multiple explanations with equal explanatory power, the explanation requiring the least assumptions is more likely to be true. Quite a different thing.
@jamsessionification The problem with this concept is clear but most theists don't realize it. If you accept evolution, you give up Genesis as fact. You give up Genesis as fact, you give up original sin. Without that there is no need for a saviour.
BTW- I find if very refreshing to see an African American that is also an atheist. Where was god when their ancestors (some of them) were shackled to the bottom of ship, left only to ly in thier own fecal matter while being transported to wherever to be a slave! Families broken up! 2500 children a day die in Africa today. Where is god. Anybody that has a child knows the pain I am addressing. There is no god! I wish others could see that!
Well stated Sir but, religion closes minds and it's doubtful any religious nut job is getting any of your points but, hey you may grab a few. :) Keep up the good work! Your vid made me laugh a few times as I agreed with you. Too funny!
good point. there usually is some flaw in the theists argument, whether it's calling a scientific theory "just a theory" or whatever, but the funny thing is even after you correct the misconception, they still cling to the belief. so it's pretty clear that they don't believe based on evidence, they just think they can convert others based on misinformation
Well, its because they were taught at an early age that you can have beliefs that are unjustified. So ALL of their beliefs are unjustified, not just he ones about the metaphysical.
When they use all of these "explosion" arguments against the Big Bang, they are really out of the ballpark. For one thing, the Big Bang was not an explosion in the same sense of an IED going off. Also, even if it were that type of explosion, they would still be comparing apples to oranges. They would be comparing an explosion here on Earth to an explosion out in space where there is no gravity, atmosphere, etc.
Quran says God is the evolver aka je is responsible for evolution, makes sence becase if there was no god then evolution would be random changes and anything random cannot produce inteligence no matter how much time it takes
Order and Chaos are needed to define each other, and turn into each other on a regular basis. The hot chaotic quark-gluon plasmas of the early universe turned into(at least on this scale) galaxies and star systems which consists of planets. I know that you need God, but I failed to see why you have to 'prove' that he exists? A personal truth can be 'true' without it being a scientific truth.
dangerously ingnorant...and they seem to think the bible can be used as a scientific source...you some creationists up the best with one simple line "you're just not looking"
I apologize for any scathing generalizations. There just seems to be a community of people out there who believe that because they can't(and in most cases won't) understand science it must be wrong.
Awesome video! I know you may not have as many subscribers as someone like thunderf00t, but you're really good at what you do and I'm a huge fan of your work.

Humans are rarely rational and intellectual yes true but the reason why seems to be how we choose we based on feelings not the logical or rational choice but how it makes us feel from it ment/phys
marclee82 1 year ago
@gsusreloded Not only that, but research on the morality of animals has been turning up some interesting findings lately. To say that ALL animals act ALWAYS on instinct is pretty premature and ignorant.

Here's my point the only time in the bible when everything GOD saw was good was at the beginning of what he says is the days of creation...Through the bible it states we fell away from him numerous and if we are not with Good(God) we are Bad left/right yin/yang um soo him still being God (as he states in the bible) yes he planned for what happened to try and save us from or yourselves in the end(as it states: Im trying to be bias for parties sake) But yes that means we are in his plan.....
marclee82 2 years ago
Okay first no religious battle here i believe in God though i believe in created evolution because nobody can just say it just happened because energy is always transfered am i correct can't be created or destroyed is the law right. Anywho, your point "If everything is in God's plan and God is the greatest good then isn't everything good." What does good mean. Okay don't know your knowledge of God and the Bible but if your going to talk on God i hoped you studied just as much of GOD.......

listen to your statement at 2:06. You said it as a statement, but it sounds a lot like a question to me, lol. That proves God is real. :P

You say something like. "That proves evolution is true."...but it sounds more like "That proves evolution is true?"

Atheism and theism is a true dichotomy.
One is either theist, or not theist(a-theist).

Hey gsus : I've watched 3 of your responses so far, and just wanted to say,"keep those responses coming!!" Your doing a great job. It's a hard thing to try and explain to someone that they are ignorant...in a nice way. : )

So is there no possibility that evolution was part of God's means of creation?
jamsessionification 2 years ago
I have no problem with this concept. Its other devout theist who imply that this is not possible.
gsusreloded 2 years ago
Theist's fear evolution because the Bible says the earth was created in 6 days. What they miss is that the author of Genisis wrote the book 2000 years after the events of Genisis. This means it must've been written poetically. It still can be God inspired as much poetry and metaphorical writing is, or so I believe it is. They also neglect 2 Peter 3:8 - "With God one day is a thousand years and a thousand years is one day." Christains have to look at context and timing of Biblical writings.
jamsessionification 2 years ago
Yeah, but....Occam's Razor. WHy have a big morass of Biblical stuff that is only metaphorical when naturalistic explanations work just as well, and actually produce usable results?
ctvwr 2 years ago
So if someone 6000 years from now read the poem by Robert Frost, "The road not taken", where he uses imagery for two roads that someone could take to make a point about choosing the road of life that most people dont... it would be easier for them to aaume that the poem was a literal event that actually took place, but in areality it was a poem using a metaphorical story. Occams razor is a good rule of thumb but the simplest answer isn't always the right answer.
jamsessionification 2 years ago
That it was an actual event would not be the simplest answer. THe simplest answer based on nothing but the original text would be "we don't know if this happened". Only after there is substantial corroborating evidence could one conclude that it was an actual event. And then it would be simpler than saying parts are real and parts metaphorical based on some arbitrary system to tell the two apart.
ctvwr 2 years ago
Also, that isn't what Occam's Razor is. The simplest answer certainly is not always correct, and the razor does not suggest so. The razor states that if given the choice between multiple explanations with equal explanatory power, the explanation requiring the least assumptions is more likely to be true. Quite a different thing.
ctvwr 2 years ago
@jamsessionification what parts?
ilovetheview47 1 year ago

I wish others could see that!

gsusreloded -
good point. there usually is some flaw in the theists argument, whether it's calling a scientific theory "just a theory" or whatever, but the funny thing is even after you correct the misconception, they still cling to the belief. so it's pretty clear that they don't believe based on evidence, they just think they can convert others based on misinformation
TheEarthAbides 2 years ago

A personal truth can be 'true' without it being a scientific truth.
gsusreloded 3 years ago

I apologize for any scathing generalizations. There just seems to be a community of people out there who believe that because they can't(and in most cases won't) understand science it must be wrong.

+1 to nick underneath, i agree fully, i'm wondering under what rock i was hiding since i didn't notice your (gsus) video's before..
If i may propose:
I think we can argue that evolution is based on birth rather then death.
The notebook's quite unreadable (or it's my eyes:)
God is genocidal, at least the god of the OT is, no denying that :)
But i dig your nice courteous style very much.
I don't think Andromeda is moving away though ;p
