People with varied views who happen to agree on one point doesn't conclude that they agree on all points.
Return on investments from other candidates means they literally will do things to appease those investors. Clearly Ron Paul won't be doing that, so the fact that they both have similar economic views is the reason Thiel is supporting him.
Cmon man, not everything is a conspiracy, sometimes the most obvious reason IS the reason.
The political systems have indeed been only aggravating every situation, as if they intentionally goof up every cycle in the history of our economy to pocket a coin or two.. and just maybe much more than that. So when educated people talk of the US economy and what it will be in net worth, what they are essentially spelling out is *What the youth of Today inevitably will inherit, and Who they are indentured to fast, tighten and plan for Tomorrow*.
"During these economic bubbles It was like shouting in to a hurricane, nobody was willing to listen" . The past generation ( adults now in their 50's , 60's ) have proven to be narcissistic and selfish , as the past decades have shown us evidence, they are a mob without protocol for the future or it's eventual status quo. For any of you who studied Latin, Ipso facto, aka as night follows day, the populace of our age ( adults 20's , 30's )will be left only to mitigate their losses and fantasies.
I feel like we just got the introduction to a longer thought. He basically says the Tech and housing bubble were a result of the rest of the economy not growing so there was nothing backing up the growth in tech and housing. So in 1968 the world looked like we would be on the moon and going to mars and have 4 day work weeks with French vacations ... but instead ... "everything went the other way" (down). So ... WHY? - seemed like he thought he knew the answer but wanted the audience to say.
@RVAepiphanyseeker 68 was the great society, and the government and taxpayers taking on too large a role in prosperity, in which it was doomed to fail. leadership from the gov't will quite naturally inhibit innovation (ultimately education and science) and personal responsibility, as the get their policy ideas from the special interest groups that seek to maintain yesterday.
so he's an education expert and now he's an economist...great. i guess just having a lot of money in your pocket gets people listening even if you are a giant arsehole like peter. what a sad world we live in.
@IAmSoRich A lot of the Nazi leadership was gay, especially the founders and the "brown shirts" who were later phased out of prominence. He's not "openly" gay, its an open secret in the valley that he is, and perhaps he admits to it (ie in Newsweek). None of his republican/libertarian friends would talk to him anymore if he was open about it, and his arab investors would possibly not invest with him
This man is a Bilderberg member.
He donates to Ron Paul's campaign.
