this was NOT better than ovechkin's goal, it was just two toe-drags and some luck that when the goalie poke-checked him it hit him and came back to his stick. i mean, its a great goal, but ovechkin's was absolutely RIDICULOUS.
@PhasersLocked Rick Nash is underrated in the NHL. I saw him many times at the World Championships and I was at awe. The Olympics only solidified my appreciation of his skill level. Unlike Ovechkin, Kovalchuk and other Russian superstars, our stars can play secondary roles if asked and they did so well. I'm so proud of them.
@canuck21 Definitely. Rick Nash has nearly all of Ovechkin's skill and none of the Russian's arrogance (I bet no other player celebrates routine goals like Ovie). Nash is one of my favourite players, and his line stopped Ovie & Friends cold in Vancouver.
@canuck21 Ovie's wasn't luck. I'm not a Cap's fan by any means, but Ovie's was better. It was more unique. But this, as a pure skill goal, is fucking awesome.
When they are on their game the Jackets can bang with anyone in the West. Their Achilles heel may be their youth. Realisticly, I'd say they may make it into round two of the playoffs, if they don't draw the Red Wings in round 1.
Ok..i know they are one of the good team in the West but..the playoffs are not the same...look at peinguins last year they was very good...but they got eliminated..in playoffs we can't tell anything.
one of the best dekes ever...easily top 5

Ovechkin's goal was better. He was on his ass. They are both legendary.

Who cares? That was Melrose that said that.
No one here is making any comparisons.
It was some sweet moves and a sick goal...appreciate seeing some good hockey and stop kissing the Russian's ass.

I disagree, I think this is way better than Ovechkin's goal which was pure luck.

@canuck21 I've seen Ovechkin's goal. That was good, but it was lucky. This was just skill from Rick Nash.

lol yea man...rick nash rock...but you guys are not going to win the stanley cup haha....

Most people's teams won't win the Cup, but he only said play-offs. Nothing wrong with someone routing for their team going to the play-offs.

do u really think blue jackets gonna go far far...

I'm a Pens fan but I'd like to see them do well as it's good for hockey. Columbus is a great town with good fans.
Why put-down the guy's enthusiasm for his team?
He only said "PLAY-OFFS" not Stanley Cup.
