  • youngsters listen good

    we call this a song

it's about something it has a melody

    it's original, unique

they all know how to play

and there's an artist in front

    your grandfather

  • saw the show twice in detroit 01 and 03...FANTASTIC

  • GOD! I wish I could have seen this show! They just keep getting better with age!

    VIVA ROXY MUSIC!!!

  • I saw it in Dublin. Got in to the point theatre and they had no support band, just big plush velvet curtains in front of the stage with some low level ambient sound playing. Women in the audience were wearing pearls and the like - major anticipation then the curtains opened... in my top three gigs of the decade. a treasured memory.

  • Eno does look great fo his age, but you won't see him in this clip. He was the only original member who didn't do this re-union tour.

  • Brian Eno hasn't aged a bit !

  • Stunned!He sings exactly as year 1972

  • well u have nerves to talk about the great paul like that..the nerves!!!

  • The older he gets, the better he looks.

  • What year was this recorded and who is the blonde(wearing shades)

  • This performance was recorded in 2001 - it's from the "Roxy Music Live At The Apollo" DVD. The original version is from the early 70s (see some early performances on youtube. The Blonde is Julia Thornton - I think she has her own website.

  • This is from the dvd from 2001 at the Apollo in Hammersmith Its worth every penny getting this brilliant

  • Mick, you old bugger, nice to know you are still around and causing trouble!

  • Can you do it better micksharp then or just wanted to input your bull on purpose here? - To me this only proves that you can update any old piece & still recogise it from freaking 35 odd years ago man! Look at them, still the full on rocker!

  • Rubbish apart from TGPT's drumming. Manzanera is having a wank, Wilkins doesn't know what she's doing with her synth and Mackay botches his oboe solo.

  • uhhmmm, FUCK YOU.

  • TGPT is still one of the greatest rock drummers around. I would put the sound down to a horrible video mix - he was definitely heavy enough if you saw him live!

  • What bugs me more are the 'style' victims in the 'band', mainly Julia Thornton and those ridiculous glasses and Lucy Wilkins' useless bleeps and burps.

  • why are you being so harsh and hurtful? dont you realize that you are hurting my feelings? i was 25yo when i drove 5 hours to make my dream come true to see them live! you are being just way harsh...are u sure you aint brian eno being nasty once again?

  • The world would be a poorer place if Roxy Music had not happened.

  • Fab!!

  • This was amazing! Thanks for posting!

  • Enjoying Manzanera's guitar freakout at the end there

  • Yep, Phil really enjoyed the great guitar work near end. Andy mackay was also very good on oboe thoughtout the song , rates as 10/10 for me. - Excellent !

  • A tour de force. This performance just about brought me to tears. These guys are pretty old, but they ROCK.

  • Stunned!!!!!! - I used to listen to that over and over and over years ago. It's still brilliant.

  • The song that inspired the namesake group. Nice live version.

    *****

  • Yeah, ha ha, let's not forget there would be no U2 without Roxy Music (*grimace*).
