I saw it in Dublin. Got in to the point theatre and they had no support band, just big plush velvet curtains in front of the stage with some low level ambient sound playing. Women in the audience were wearing pearls and the like - major anticipation then the curtains opened... in my top three gigs of the decade. a treasured memory.
This performance was recorded in 2001 - it's from the "Roxy Music Live At The Apollo" DVD. The original version is from the early 70s (see some early performances on youtube. The Blonde is Julia Thornton - I think she has her own website.
Can you do it better micksharp then or just wanted to input your bull on purpose here? - To me this only proves that you can update any old piece & still recogise it from freaking 35 odd years ago man! Look at them, still the full on rocker!
Rubbish apart from TGPT's drumming. Manzanera is having a wank, Wilkins doesn't know what she's doing with her synth and Mackay botches his oboe solo.
TGPT is still one of the greatest rock drummers around. I would put the sound down to a horrible video mix - he was definitely heavy enough if you saw him live!
What bugs me more are the 'style' victims in the 'band', mainly Julia Thornton and those ridiculous glasses and Lucy Wilkins' useless bleeps and burps.
why are you being so harsh and hurtful? dont you realize that you are hurting my feelings? i was 25yo when i drove 5 hours to make my dream come true to see them live! you are being just way harsh...are u sure you aint brian eno being nasty once again?
Yep, Phil really enjoyed the great guitar work near end. Andy mackay was also very good on oboe thoughtout the song , rates as 10/10 for me. - Excellent !

Eno does look great fo his age, but you won't see him in this clip. He was the only original member who didn't do this re-union tour.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Is that Paul Thompson with a horrible drum sound? He used to have a killer beat in the 70s. This sounds like some stiff copycat hired hand.
