In my opinion, if Athrun and Kira did fight, it would be a draw. I think that Athrun just underestimated Kira during the fight.

@CoolAlvin1 They did fight seriously in Seed and it was technically a draw since Athrun had to resort to latching onto Kira's gundam and self destructing since they were so evenly matched.

I cant believe they killed off Nicole in the fanfic. totally unfair. not only did he pilot one of my favorite mobile suits in SEED, but he was like one of the best characters!

Oh well, there's plenty of fanfiction where he does survive, so I'll live with that for now.

gundam seed is indeed one of the best ANIME in my opinion.. it's characters were for me, believable.. I cried.. and I will always love gundam seed forever!!! this brings back so much memories!!! I don't know why some HATE gundam seed.. but I LOVED it.. it's not just about the GUNDAMS.. it was about the characters

You know if i remember right, Nicol's dream was to play piano in concert. It's a dream he never got to see since he was killed. Now it's almost as if I can imagine him playing this song on the piano in front of a huge audience at a theatre.

Why did you put Kira's wallpaper? You should put Nicol's instead. Yea this scene was heartwrenching. I remember gasping when Nicol died. Shed a tear when Asuran opened his locker. Went OMG you can't be serious when Asuran said he's gonna have his revenge. Ah great show.

More background on song: This is also called Nicol's theme because he is the first one seen playing this song. He was like Quatre in Gundam Wing in that he fought with peace in mind. Hence when he was killed it brought me to tears. One of the best songs i have ever heard.

Easily one of the saddest moments in Gundam SEED. Nicol was such a kind kid that I'd be surprised if anyone outright hated him, and that made his death even more tragic.

He's one of Athrun Zala's best friends and is part of his 4-man team.

Nicol sacrifices his life to save Athrun when Athrun is in a duel (that he loses) with Kira Yamato (Kira and Athrun are very close childhood friends) in the Strike Gundam. The Strike's sword slices through the cockpit and embeds itself halfway through Nicol's stomach. Nicol says "Athrun...r-run..." before his helmet fills with blood, his visor shatters, and Nicol's Blitz Gundam explodes.

@gamester512 yeah i couldn't but agree on this. :) it was more like kira had no choice, if his mobile suit didn't sort of crouched and "accidentally sliced" through the cockpit of blitz well it could have been kira and the strike blowing up the place over.

war picks no one, with that being said, even your own blood is not exempted.

@gunplamac18 Yeah, and IMO the worst part is that Nicol might have been part of the reason the sword cut as deep as it did. If he had been able to stop the Blitz and have it back off just a little bit, Nicol might just have survived the attack, but in the end the forward momentum of the Blitz may have been what got Nicol killed.

@gamester512 and let's not forget how athrun killed kira's friend who was piloting the skygrasper, i'm not sure but when aegis' shield hit tolle, i think his head was decapitated? such a tragedy.

@gamester512 yes, i did pause the moment, to see if tolle got really decapitated due to the impact of the shield onto the skygrasper.

that scene was by far one of the brutal and saddest moments in seed. nicol was sure cut in half and tolle was decapitated.

fate of the soldiers sure is unfortunate.

@karasuuuuuuuuuuu The Aegis was laying on it's pack completely prone and it's phase shift armor ran out of power, while the Strike was still standing and had it's big *bleep*ing sword still in it's hands. That makes me say Athrun lost. Yes, it was a close fight, but I still say Athrun lost. It only resulted in a 'draw' due to Nicol's intervention. If he hadn't intervened, Kira would have had ample time to perform a finishing blow on the Aegis.

@karasuuuuuuuuuuu Maybe so, but everyone is still entitled to their own opinion, and I still say Athrun lost that fight with the Strike. All Kira had to do was swing the Strike's sword down at the Aegis and Athrun would not just have lost but likely died as well. I just don't think Kira or Athrun's hearts were really in the fight until after Tolle died.

@karasuuuuuuuuuuu because the wiki is always correct.... if i remember correctly Athrun hadn't even activated his seed when Kira defeated him - i think he doesn't activate his seed until after he kills Tolle.
