  • true story guy, when I was an embryo yet unborn, I lived this song thru Gilmour's guitar. My mom played it to me thru her tummy and I was born, bred, to LOVE this song.

So now at the tender age of 12 I can not only identify with the song, but I genuinely hate anything that is not this song.

Beiby baby and all that slack auto tune shit can fuck off.

    GiMme my FLOYD!

Well, at least the last sentence is true! :)

  • my idol love u

  • shh God is playing.

  • nice

  • one wicked track, i luv this, makes me cry xx

  • do you know which year it was?

  • No matter how old David get's, he still sings and plays with true passion.

I wish that the current artists would learn from bands like these.

  • Is it me or does Gilmour even know the words to his solo?

  • I'm just swimming in that fishbowl ... What a sweet/shinning soul... what a fantastic musican...what a time we've had when this song came out ...what have we missed without this superb song, sang by David G.

my 5 golden stars are shinning up there :-)

  • Wow...look at the way he bends those strings into the next county!

  • if there is ONE piece of music that can make me cry...this is it!

  • david gilmour really is a god, you can even see the rays from heavon shine down on him

  • may this legend live on..he should be immortilised!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 people wished they were here

  • 4 dislikes? 4 dickheads that wouldn't know shit from clay unless they licked it.

  • Wish you were here at my studio playing this live

  • This song should be played so loud that everybody in the world will hear it. Then people will realize how shitty rap and techno is.

  • @56goldlespaul I love pink floyd, all kinds of metal, blues, jazz, classical guitar, flamenco guitar, I have love for all good music and I can tell you, that good rap/hip hop exists.

  • @56goldlespaul I know that it exists. It's hard to find though. And it's nowhere near as amazing as something like this. And it's not nearly as creative as this.

  • @56goldlespaul Why so negative? I actually don't really mind techno. And the goal shouldn't be getting people to realize how bad one style of music is...it should be getting people to realize how great another is. As far as I've known, no one was ever a bad person for loving many types of music.

  • It's tragic that a generation of youngsters are growing up thinking that the X-Factor karaoke singers represent talent. I just hope they see the light one day and don't miss out on geniune musical genius forever.

  • 4 igorants will not go to the great gig in heaven

  • piano solo,,,,down right beautiful

  • @brent4292 gilmour looks at him like this is your time to shine for a solo buddy!! hahaha

  • David, Please come back to the states !!!! A small tour , anything !!!!

  • Wish you were here Rick!

  • i always like to sing the last chorus two times....and to replace the word "fears" by "tears"....during the final one.

  • Great version of a classic. Dave Gilmour=guitar legend

  • Shivers and tears. Each and every time <3

  • Beautifully simple, and simply beautiful!

  • ...no comment

  • True story guys - when i was younger i went to watch gilmour and whilst he was swapping guitars i shouted out "your the daddy!" to which he replied "well thats a new one!" Something i will remember forever..and as im sure you will agree..it will always be the truth! i was about 15 at the time and my dad sat open mouthed next to my mum shaking his head saying "our daughter just spoke to david gilmour!" lol

  • god, how I love this song

  • He's the best, next to Dallas Green. But no musican in the world will ever be such a great singer.

Hearing the Pulse live dvd every friday together with my dad & dreamin' away...

  • I have to agree with all, David's voice does get better. When you listen to this live version, it sounds every bit as good as the album version. Who else can do that?

  • Maestro Sir Gilmour!

  • r.i.p rick wright

  • grande davide!:)

  • david ,the master...

  • Wonderful vid. Great scenery. good fun in the Czech Republic. Love the Goons remind me of when I was young. Thanks K.K. I really enjoyed it. TeeJay

  • @Venturadreams concordo...hehehehehehehe

  • the piano bit really adds a lot to the song

  • Just can't get this song out of my mind today. To all our Syd's that we've lost over the years and to Richard - you will be missed.

  • Yeah Im 15 and started listening to pink floyd when i was 12. I heard echoes on the radio as we arrived home one day and refused to get out the car until i'd heard who the band was.

  • Good for you mate :) (FilmaMike that is)

Passion is a large part of what makes music truly great

  • They haven't built an arena big enough to hold all the Floyd fans of the world.....

  • trunk516 put it the best way.

they haven't built one big enough, and the fact is, they never will... the only one is the great gig in the sky we'll all eventually see

  • Put it this way....I'm 58 and am a huuuge Floyd fan...but I see 28 yr olds with Floyd shirts...hell 18 year olds love their music...There is a hand full of groups that can withstand this test of time...The Stones..Led Zep..maybe AC/Dc....but no one really captures music like Pink Floyd...IMHO..

  • 18? i was 13 when i first started getting into floyd, now im 17, have everyone of there albums and live albums,i built a guitar in tribute to them, And consider myself there nomber one fan(i know wer all there number one fans) unfortunatly i was born too late to have the plesure of seeing them live, I belive pink floyd and bands like them such as Hendrix expirience, Led Zeppelin, Eagles and the such well stay forever, but the modern music will be forgotten by the middle of next week,,

  • Let me say, as a 23 year old I agree with you somewhat, the bands you have mentioned are def fantastic. But I also ask of you to give some modern music a chance, because there are GREAT bands out there at the time.....but don't expect to find them on the radio. You will have to dig deeper depending on what music you like.

  • i have to agree,, Thanx

  • It doesn't matter how many great bands are out there if they're not promoted. You can dig deeper, I can, a thousand, maybe more people can dig deeper, but there will never be as many guys digging for good music as they are watching MTV. Sure there will be bands playing good music like Chickenfoot is right now that will be promoted well and will get big. But there will never be bands like Floyd that created songs which still are, now, after more than 30 years, standards in music, like Shine.

  • @amontoya86

Couldn't agree more. The trouble is there is a lot more crap to sort through to find them. Also, I think the music industry puts too much pressure on new starting bands to produce an album as quickly as possible and so what they produce tends to be under done and they never get the opportunity to mature and perfect their music. We are in effect trending to the music equivalent of fast food.

  • gilmour is the word for MUSIC

  • legends

  • matate gil

  • wish i can take my dad to a david gilmour show, hes a big Dave enthusiast...

  • epic !

  • Rick's touch on this one is astonishing!

  • It is hard to believe that is has been 15 years since I saw them live on the Pulse tour, and I remember every minute like it was just last week.

This is the kind of music that will live on forever.

    David Gilmour is the master!

  • you saw pulse live? my god i would give ANYTHING to have beign there

  • i was like 3 when my parents took me in 94' haha

  • 1994's (PULSE tour), the thunderous intro by the audience before this song was amazing, but this isn't just thunderous ... it's another type of wonderful phenomenon -- UTMOST RESPECT for THE MAESTRO himself! Love you David!

  • I would give anything to have been there, to be alongside all those people listening to them in absolute silence.

Simply mesmerizing. Sometimes I feel very frustrated of being too young to see them live at least once in my life.

Pink Floyd live and swimming with dolphins should never be missed in one's lifetime.

  • I know how u feel. I missed too much. :(

  • que canción tan padre , a mi hijo y a mi nos gusta las canciones de Pink Floyd en especial esta ,confortabilidad, hey tu etc.

  • Great LIVE vibe and feel. Pure magic!!

  • my favorite part is when david sings "A cold comfort for change" so warm

  • This was few days after Syd died I think

  • its about a month

  • the older he gets, the better his voice sounds!

  • I agree, Clapton is the same way they both sound better as they age.

  • Indeed very good to see Rick again, if i might add i loved his work on The Great Gig in the Sky.

Plus his voice on a lot of great Pink Floyd Classics, like Wearing the inside out. (And i think the Remastered CD version of that song is way better with the backing vocals but thats my opinion)

Rick we miss you, as much as i miss Pink Floyd as a whole!

    rest in peace Richard Wright!

  • this is such a beautiful song played in an amazin venue

  • This song is about Syd. Sad he went crazy but I am glad to see that David is growing more and more healthy in mind body spirit and music. Roger God help him I think is still trying to do stuff with the wall. He needs to grow past that. Gilmour is brilliant and inspirational. RIP..Rick I will miss his soft voice and keyboards

  • Brilliant song, brings back memories.

Nice to see Rick again (RIP).

  • Wish I was there

  • i wish i was there too mate....brilliant

  • royal albert hall is an amazing venue, the sound is fantastic, love the words, so moving and full of feeling

  • A classic take. Sir David is great. I felt so inspired when I saw him play live that I did my own take on this wonderful song..... WISH U Were Here.

  • Gilmour never lost his voice on the songs. AMAZING!

  • Rick, Dawe I will love you forever

  • this song is the single greatest compostion of acoustic music ever to be written bar none

  • Best version of this song I've heard in a long time. That piano solo just adds to it.

  • the best band ever

  • man , the Wright looked so fine!

    hard to believe he's dead , R.I.P

  • how i wish i was there..

  • How I wish...how I wish U were here...

    My song...for ever.

  • RIP wright :(

  • Gilmour jestes ZAJEBISTY !!!!! SŁUCHAM patrze i to co widze i słysze to cos PIĘKNEGO!!!!!!!!!

  • rick wright added piano solo. great stuff.

  • If you notice pink floyd does a lot of weird stuff...which oddly comes out very good. Its probably what happended with money they were interviewing people about certain things and decided to throw it in ...of course thats the great thing about pink floyd it comes out good because its not intentional its just all with creativity.

  • The interveiws with people through out DSotM were intentional. What you don't hear on the records is Waters asking the questions.DSotM Is their best album

  • Can anyone tell what the thing before the song starts is? When you hear a male and a female voice, and then a quick music plays and then the song starts. What is this?

  • it's part of the song.

  • It's supposed to display someone whos zapping through the radioprogramme on the original recording and eventually he stucks hearing the introductional chrods of wish you were here.

    as far as I know

  • It represents someone changing radio channels until he hears the beginning tune of Wish You Were Here.

  • It was recorded from David Gilmour's radio in his car right out in front of Abbey Road studio. It is actual radio transmissions and turning the dial quickly from station to station. Remember, in the early 1970's car radios were actually just radios with dials and big buttons.

  • 4.38 priceless

  • :-) richard

    r.i.p.

  • Hi. Pinkclimax - you should be a huge fan of all this show of 40 years meaning Pink Floyd.

    Thanks for posting. Peace.

  • Richard,,, Wish you were here.....

  • To rick wright...

  • Best Song Ever !!!!

  • love how David can still hit the high notes with his voice pretty well considering his age. such a true musician. And for Richard - really wish he was still here. Hope they do Gilmouire/Mason/Waters tribute show to honor Richard. Death has a odd way of bringin people together...

  • Richard Wright passed...

  • ...his music to the world....

  • R.I.P Richard Wright see you on the dark side of the moon

  • R.I.P Richard,we all wish you were here..

  • Another great musician gone. But will live on forever. R.I.P. Rick... this smoke is for you.

  • i would sell me soul to see dave gilmour live on stage.

  • I totally agree , there is no other band/musician I would truely say that about

  • I'll be in line right behind you.

  • Me too.

    Gilmour forever

  • Hell yeah.. Cause you're gonna get your soul back, when you listen to that sound..

  • everybody wants a rick wright in there band a great musician who is ego less and is a good person and easy to get along with

  • This is better than the studio version I think. And Rick's solo was a very nice touch.
