The batterys are HAZARDOUS WASTE and destroy the nature! When I was a child a battery (ni-cd) falls in my aquarium. After a weak all the fishes were dead. I think hydrogen cars are much better for the nature. I do not like the cars in the Video remind me on a wheel chair - seach for Citroen Survolt

actually you are wrong here in pt the power stations are totallty solar based ones not gas, or even tuned with electric grid, i woukld like to say also theres elecvtric cars already made 100% here but need investors to make them cheaper and for mass production cars like the futi or others, total electric cars prototypes, i think it would be wie to invest here because 1. gov supports them and made alredy electric stations supplyed by solar all over the country, 2.we have alot solar power

We will only have zero emission electric cars when all the electricity for them comes from wind, solar, hydro and other renewable sources. We are currently a million miles from that.

To me a car is only about two things.... safety and emissions, though safety cames first, but these eletric cars are not known for their awsome speed, there actually slower than most cars wich gives them even more security when added to the fact that these cars are ultra confortable and super safe when it comes to materials resistance, airbags everywere and the most advanced tracion control technics and tecnologies...

From my point of view the electric car is more eco friendly and the problem have solutions, but not the problems of internal combustion engines.

You right, high number of electric power station use petrol to work. But consider also, that you need petrol to use petrol. You need a lot of energy to take the petrol from the earth, refine, transport to the petrol station (ships and trucks), and so on. Further more, you need more energy to make a internal combustion engine (hundreds of pieces in friction) than a electric motor (tens of pieces)

A the uranium have to mined then enriched from u238 to a higher % u235 using cenrifuges or gas diffusion that all takes energy and co2. it also has to processed after and stored.

The car is electric so it produces no emission from the exhaust, but when it runs out of power, where do it get its power from? If you plug in in to the mains, where is that electricity generated?

IN POWER STATIONS Most of which has emissions, plus It's not 100% efficient to produce the electricity and transport it, then charge the battery

Hence it still has co2 emissions

But even when you drive your electric car with electricity from coal, the CO2 emission is lower than with an crapy average US car.

If u mean by rotation It s simply because u need spend some energy to rotate the wheel. U always spend more energy than u make :) if not, is perpetuum mobile first degree.

If u mean charge the battery from surface thru the wheels is great idea, they work on something like this in South Korea I thing.
