America will always favour Israel, whilst Britain (and France) tend to favour the Arabs, most notably Jordan. The UK has provided military support to Jordan as many times as the USA has to Israel.

I think the middle-east is an issue we will never agree on. When Palastine wanted for membership of a UN group, USA voted against, UK abstained and France supported. Usually we three vote in tandem.
