On my 18th brithday in Chillicothe Ohio I was at the concert at the American Liegon, it was one of my best nights ever. Eric Moore pulled me on stage for one set, went backstage it was a fun and crazy night wish I could do that again. Would love to see them again, they will also be the best in Rock n Roll ever
I saw the The Godz in 1978. They opened for Triumph and Flint. Triumph was fairly unknown as they were new to the U.S. Flint was made up of 2 former members of Grand Funk. The Godz were damn good and I bought their debut album a few days after. Wow! what a show! Good memories........................

i saw the Godz in 1979 in huntington wva. they kicked ass but were shortly escorted off the stage by the cops for smoking weed on stage....those bastards
grew up in P-burg and moved to Massillon heard this band through WMMS, moved back to WV and this band played at my freaking high school. band was pissed because of the low turn out, and eventually just let people in for free, that did not stop them from rockin and rollin. people came were impressed I loved it cause, heard it on the radio, but had a front row seat that day and passed the bottle of jack.
Dig it! I was in a 80's hair-type band from Malta, OH from all fucking places called Play Rough. We opened for Rosie and Molly Hatchet in '89! Rock and Roll aint what it used to be....but it's still alive!!! Thanks for this............
Worst rock band i ever saw live. Can't sing, can't play guitar and the drummer isn't as good as Ringo. I couldn't be drunk or stoned enough for this lame shit.

I'm originally from San Antonio, where this was on regular radio rotation thanks to the legendary DJ Joe Anthony, ¨"The Godfather" (RIP). When I moved to Cleveland, I told a colleague (from Central Ohio) that I knew about The Godz and she was blown away! We´'ve been great friends since...From Texas to Ohio, Godz Rock N Roll ain't dead and it never will be...
It took me awhile to find, but I did it! Saw them in concert in cleveland, ohio along with angel, it was bad ass,by the time it was over we were high and kept r sights on the terminal tower to guide us home! Let the good times roll Hell Yeah

This is real rock -n- roll before glam rock came rock came on the scene. These are real men rocking their hearts out not some guys wearing women's make-up or women's underwear.I put them on a par with Riot's "Fire Down Under."This is real heavy metal,it is no wonder, several years ago Z-Rock wonld not play their song. This is The Godz anthem song "Gotta Keep Running",first heard it back in 1978 or 1979.I heard on 12'' LP before cassette and cds.Like I said this is real heavy mteal to its core.
@jukeking1 First of all, the Godz were no "hair band". And if you were never there, or never saw them live back in the day, then it's possible you might think them "just another....". But they weren't just another ANYTHING... they were Godz.
I used to see the Godz play at The Cove in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio back in the 80's. This is my favorite rock-n-roll song ever. THE GODZ will live forever...
I managed a Dairy Mart in Zanesville, Ohio back in the 90's, Midnight guy called off, I was to see THE GODZ that night but had to cover the hours !! But the band stopped in the store around 3am for beer & rolling papers..lol..I sold past State Law hours & Smoked a joint with the band in the back room....HELL YEAH, Those were the good ole days !! Rock-N-Roll and Smoke A Bowl!!
1979..high school soccer teams pump up song on the bus, traveling to our games..great memories!! Just a awesomes song!! Godz rock and roll machine..machines, machines!! Hell yeah!!
Side one on this album is amazing, I wish they kept up this style of writing! I want this on cd so bad! If they kept up this style, they would have been huge!
This is one of the best hard rock bands to ever come out of Ohio (Columbus). I saw them back in the early 90s at a club in Akron--they were one of the tightest bands I've ever seen...Eric Moore was a riot!
I remember seeing these guys at the old "Flying Machine" on Rt 619 near Portage Lakes. The funniest thing was that when I was in my car for a bit...about every ten minutes, a group of people would walk outside...a fight would start, the winner would go in with his buddies, then the loser would get up...and stagger back in with HIS buddies. This happened so regular that you could set your watch by it,,,haha.
Unbelievable what you can find on youtube these days! I saw The Godz and Flint open for Triumph in 1978 believe it or not. Triumply blew me away with their light show and Rik Emmett's playing but The Godz kicked some ass also. By the way, Flint consisted of two of the original members of Grand Funk (no Mark Farner though). Great show!
LOL. I'm not old enough to remember these guys, but my uncle lent me a copy of this album a few years ago, and I've made a copy for myself that I've kept ever since.
Forgive me RIAA :)
The licensing they put on music, film, software, and books are BS anyways...
It makes no sense to prevent copying, when things can be copied for virtually no cost. Forgive me for my rant. Just got back from a night out :)
I was in my first band when i was 13,we played one of their songs called 714.If you can find it, check it out a great fucking song, long live the GODZ!
Saw them open for Starz and Angel in 1978,Toledo Sports Arena!!They kicked EVERYBODIES ASSES!!!Stole the show!!Have played "Gotta Keep A Runnin' " a thousand times in a cover band years ago.Always a show stopper!!!
This song and Candys Gone Bad are awesome. This was the very first band I ever seen in concert, at the Rockford Illinois Armory, they opened for Angel in 78. Had the album but dont know where it ended up. MACHINEEEEES
Back in 1976 they opened for the Babies and Angel in Cleveland, someone stole one of Angels semis full of there equipment. I plaid drums and drove my Nabors crazy playing to that first album. Several months ago I was driving with my wife, I now live in Phoenix and Got to Keep a running came on and I thought I was going to nut myself. I cranked that sucker up and my wife thought I had lost it.
Brings back memories here, too. Saw them at the Sam Houston Coliseum - no - scratch that - it was the Music Hall next door and bought the album the next day. They opened a three-band show followed by a young band named Judas Priest and Frank Marino And Mohagany Rush closed it out. I was about 15 and it was the first time I ever got sick without the benefit of being medically sick. What a night!! Those guys and Coney Hatch were the best bands not many ever heard before. I loved 'em.
went to see the godz in 78 at vets in cbus along with iggy pop who we booed off the stage. iggy fliped us off and the godz took the stage and rocked, hreat fun in those days.
Man I followed these guys around every weekend from Zanesville to Columbus, Eric Moore signed my high school year book at a performance at Secrest Auditorium in Zanesville. I am so glad they are back again. Got a urban legend party coming up to raise money for a wedding but already booked rif raf. The godz for urban legend party 3 has to be in the plans somehow.
One of the greatest bands ever. These guys are the real deal. Hard rockin, hard ridin gun totin badasses. Everything the 80's hair bands pretended to be.
The current bass player and I used to do jam nights at a place called Michel's in Kent, OH. He later joined The Godz. The Godz used to play the same bar circuit my old band played in Akron, OH. This is a NE Ohio band. They are kind of another Anvil.
This song brings back great memories. I met Glen Cataline at his home in 1978, and met Eric Moore at his home a few years ago. This music made me become a musician!
I heard this song on Eddie Trunk's show on sirius a few months ago. A revelations to me. Gotta love the classic hard rock vibe!

Great show!
ledzep0620 1 year ago

This song and Candys Gone Bad are awesome. This was the very first band I ever seen in concert, at the Rockford Illinois Armory, they opened for Angel in 78. Had the album but dont know where it ended up. MACHINEEEEES
exelonty 1 year ago

I am so glad they are back again. Got a urban legend party coming up to raise money for a wedding but already booked rif raf. The godz for urban legend party 3 has to be in the plans somehow.

The current bass player and I used to do jam nights at a place called Michel's in Kent, OH. He later joined The Godz. The Godz used to play the same bar circuit my old band played in Akron, OH. This is a NE Ohio band. They are kind of another Anvil.

It just doesn't get better. I can't count how many parties I've rocked to the Godz. The movie about Anvil should be about the Gdoz.

This song brings back great memories. I met Glen Cataline at his home in 1978, and met Eric Moore at his home a few years ago. This music made me become a musician!
