hi m8 i would like to ask you a q.my sister has the same model and she had some problems logically with video card...she took the machine in a crap technician who claimed that was a power supply problem and he said that he took a coin and put it somewhere inside for the power supply, now the machine doesn't even open it;s the same model like the video ....i ldon't think he knew what he was doing,i mean now it dosen't even open......any chance know what he was trying to do or a solution?ty
im getting ready to do this to my lap top and every body is telling me about static electricity what should i use to help eliminate that problem? thanks.

hi my friend..very good your video..i have a problem with my hp dv9000..I don`t know what is hapenning with the screen because the screen is well and suddenly appear blue or purple strips and small black square above all screen..I have done tests on my laptop changing the display but the problem continue..i have disarmed all my laptop thinking of cleaning but i don't give any solution. I hava a Compaq Presario V6000 with 4gb ram and an Intel Core Duo processor (T2250), Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit. If not can you recomend some motherboards that will do the job but still work on my Compaq Presario V6000 laptop.
hi, very nice video. I had a couple of questions. One, do you have to use the same motherboard from your model computer, or for laptops are they able to have options of which one you want? Also, I want to change my processor and video card in my hp g62 and how do i make sure everything is compatible? I have tried hp and haven't found anything. Also, will i have to buy a new chipset. This type of stuff is so much harder on a laptop. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
@reply4reply NEED YOUR HELP I did the copper sheet and grease like you said and made holes. But now that everything is back together my computer randomly shuts off completely. Heres the things i did different though. I made 3 stack sheets of copper for one of the chips and also used brake grease for cars i figured it would be the same thing.
my computer problem is similar to thedemoniaco's. however my DV9000 lights up the Power Strip Lights Up, Beeps,Shuts Down all in a lapse of about 2 seconds. at first i thought it was a power strip issue and i got a new one. do you think replicating the steps from the video above fix my problem? even though my computer does not turn on at all? do you think purchasing a new motherboard would fix the problem?

Hi. You says that you have web site with a longer video. What is the URL of your web site? I have a DV9000 I am rebuilding right now. Thanks for the great video.
Will a motherboard from another 17 inch dv9000 model work or must it be the exact one? For example, I have a dv9574, must I replace the motherboard with the exact one for a dv9574?
@mrabingdon not really, the diffrences between them are AMD or Intel processor
and graphic chip type. but makesure the graphic card heatsink will fit, some are triangle and some are a square. you should use the hp part number underneath the rams to find same one.
@mrabingdon It doesn't have to be the same. I had a 9535nr with Intel Core 2 Duo and 256 MB Nvidia Graphics. I got a dv9700 motherboard with a Core 2 Duo slot and 512MB Nvidia memory. If you are replacing the board, why not upgrade at the same time :).

@reply4reply So I will have to get the reballing balls and that heating gun? What is that thing that people use to hold the chips? I help people with Viruses for Free and such and some people give me laptops to fix and i encountered that problem that I mentioned before.
Your Instructions are pretty clear and understandable.
I am looking on your stream to see how can i do this. HPs are one of the messy laptops I have ever seen. Should I recommend people to use a can Air Compresor every..cont.
I am afraid reballing is not for everyone, especially on laptops. before doing reballing you'll need to be 100% perfect at removing and soldering back the smallest component on the motherboard using a microscope. then u can look into reballing
@reply4reply I will open the laptop and see if the balls are not in their proper place. I dont want to charge the person the money companies charge to get pcs fixed as I mostly fix them for free as i have spare time. so I am looking for a solution where i can fix it without charging this person any money. Unless I buy a motherboard then i will have to charge the person that price and that is all. what would you recommend me? I have experiences at installing hardware and software.
They seem to do absolutely nothing in this video to prevent the unit from breaking down again. Replacing these motherboards is a waste in most cases, but then again so is ruining the board using some crude repair technique found online.
There's a good Q & A at PrecisionDivision . com about this problem - and it explains it in detail. Before you start tearing apart and ruining your laptop, you might want to read it.
Try my copper shim to lower gpu temps in hp dv and tx series laptop 15%. Only $5 and comes with thermal paste free. Search for "tx1000 copper shim" on ebay.

i have the dv9000, i had taken apart everything and done a little bit of heating up of the GPU. after that when i press the power button it just blinks once the blue light and then goes off. have i actually fried the GPU or is it something else? If its the GPU how much and where can i purchase one GPU MCP69D-A3 chip. i have tried all ebay as well as teh whole internet, no luck. could you please help?
The issue with the DV2000, DV6000, DV9000, TX1000, F500, F700 laptops happens to be both your fan, video memory, and video card.
If you do not update these files, you will need to have a BGA reflow service to fix your chipsets to restore your wireless and video. What will happen is you will get no video, all blue lights, and the system will cycle on and off every 1 to 2 minutes.
BGA reflow is a simple fix that doesnt last long, it lasts maximum 4 months its delaying the problem from re-occuring the permanent fix is reballing which I am working on hard to do. the issue is (lead free solder) which is used and cracks and melts easy. reballing means replacing lead free solder with old type solder that doesnt melt or crack in high tempretures.
guys who do reflow would know that. I do reflow for my clients and I tell them it will last just 2 to 3 months.
hey do u know how i can stop my computer from going on for 2 seconds then going off and repeating that cycle for days?cause iv tried so many peoples methods to fix it but still nothing
Your video is very helpful and I've managed to remove the motherboard of my HP DV9000 laptop, but I'm still in the process of finding a place to buy another.
Are there any reliable websites or places that you can recommend me to buy a new motherboard from?
Thanks again! This video was perfect for an amateur like me.
hi, i've HP DV9750ev notebook and i have VGA problem.
when turning on NB first of all appear white line between top and bottom sides and there are two bios widow and desktop. i know it's VGA problem but if you give me solution i'll be glad...
if you feel stressed leave it, then comeback to it when you relax, removing boards needs patience and consontration if I spelt the last correct. Reply
nice video, but you know guy, with the video, people tried to burn our their HP laps, and trying to repair your dv2000 or 6000 or 9000 at home like that is killing the motherbroad or sensible components without ground protection. some end up throwing it away, some re-send the shit result to tech repair and pay more expensif, a few ones lucky but sure that can stand still for 2 months ? or end up with lying people on ebay when saling ?
And something else I must say, these problems have absolutely nothing to do with dust as the video description says - google "Nvidia Defect" and you'll see...
I currently have a hp that had a bad nvdia card go and took the motherboard with it. It is a 444002 001 model motherboard and I was wondering do I have to replace it with that exact one or could I get another mother board with a different serial number.
Hi, I've been following this video trying to do this myself. Do i need to buy new thermal paste and it appears i'm missing some screws should i buy these to attach aswell?
I think I had that dust problem you were talking about and fried my video card because its doing some weird stuff. Not sure if I have to replace just the vc, or the whole motherboard yet but... do you know the best website to buy replacement parts in the States?
Ok so my laptop just died the other day and I have no clue why, when I turn it on it gives me that thing where i click which option as in start windows normally, safe mode, safe mode with networking and something else. Then it loads and brings me to a black screen where you can only see the cursor and it stays like that forever. Please help!
Also where do you put the thermal paste you talked about on inserting the processor. I'm thinking about buying a motherboard off ebay and fix my notebook. Thanks for uploading such a helpful video!
Hey man i have the black screen problem on my hp pavilion dv9005us laptop and i was told it was the motherboard. I want to replace the motherboard by watching your video but i am really scared to remove the processor. Would you please tell me if is too dangerous to remove the processor and if you could give me some tips on how to remove and insert it onto the new motherboard safely. Thanks in advance, your video might actually save my notebook. :)
Hi, I spilled water on my keyboard and then the laptop turned off. It won't turn on anymore. What do you think would be the major damage? What would I need to replace?
hey dude i have a question for you! I have hp laptop 6810us. In ode day my sound stopped working.I reinstalled the driver but no luck. Then i a installed my operating system and the drivers and again no luck. Sometimes when i restart it installs the drivers automatically and my sound is working for 1 hour or more and it stops.
question: my laptop charger got messed up and my father made one all it needed was a new tip it was working good until i saw a spark and it turned off then it wouldnt turn on anymore so is this the mother board or something else?
I am exactly facing with this same problem with my dv6000 and wandering about opening the laptop and try to clean the noisy fan. But you suggest to replace whole motherboard? It shuts down after 30min or 3 hrs of noisy operation.
thank man.. very helpfull videos... i took my motherboard out without a problem... we'll see how i do putting it back together once i get my new mother board.... I'm having issues finding this part.... woul dyou be able to tell me where to find and which one is fo rmy laptop?? i have the dv2000 with intel.... is it part # 440777-001 or 440778-001 .. im not sure what the difference is...
the best way is to watch my other video on hp custom solution, drill holes under the graphic card and put an air cooler right under. also replace the thermal paste and tighten the heatsink screws very hard, do not add 1penny like others say, if you want just add a flat copper plate.
is the motherboard for a dv2000 similar to this one? easier? also is there a way to make the laptop not over heat? can i install a better fan or an additional?
as long as it has a silver palm rest its pretty much the same, the diffrence between 2000 and 6000 is graphic card is better and 2000 has the power button board on the actual heatsink rather than on the pannel. the rest is same.
I bellive my graphics chip has come unsoldered or blown .I may as well try the heating trick to re solder it back in .. But Where is the chip ,, Is it the VGA ? I was thinking of the term GPU ....
you can get from any ebay seller that provides 90 days warranty, usualy they're good from hongkong cause its cheaper but find who sends them without declaring full price to custom. the thing is these laptops overheat naturaly so a new mobo wont last long anyway..
Can you email a link to the longer video ? I'm trying to figure out what cable goes into the four white slots on mboard : (from left to right) : keybard, touchpad, display cable, (what is 4th one ?)
after disassembling and putting parts back my laptop wont power up, anybody have same problem?

The issue with the DV2000, DV6000, DV9000, TX1000, F500, F700 laptops happens to be both your fan, video memory, and video card.
If you do not update these files, you will need to have a BGA reflow service to fix your chipsets to restore your wireless and video. What will happen is you will get no video, all blue lights, and the system will cycle on and off every 1 to 2 minutes.
Check Doubleclickittofixit on Google to fix it.
BGAReflow 2 years ago
BGA reflow is a simple fix that doesnt last long, it lasts maximum 4 months its delaying the problem from re-occuring the permanent fix is reballing which I am working on hard to do. the issue is (lead free solder) which is used and cracks and melts easy. reballing means replacing lead free solder with old type solder that doesnt melt or crack in high tempretures.
guys who do reflow would know that. I do reflow for my clients and I tell them it will last just 2 to 3 months.

Your video is very helpful and I've managed to remove the motherboard of my HP DV9000 laptop, but I'm still in the process of finding a place to buy another.
Are there any reliable websites or places that you can recommend me to buy a new motherboard from?
Thanks again! This video was perfect for an amateur like me.

if another human being can do it, you can
if you feel stressed leave it, then comeback to it when you relax, removing boards needs patience and consontration if I spelt the last correct. Reply

nice video, but you know guy, with the video, people tried to burn our their HP laps, and trying to repair your dv2000 or 6000 or 9000 at home like that is killing the motherbroad or sensible components without ground protection. some end up throwing it away, some re-send the shit result to tech repair and pay more expensif, a few ones lucky but sure that can stand still for 2 months ? or end up with lying people on ebay when saling ?
HP(s) with chipset nvidia and AMD are su**k !

Ok so my laptop just died the other day and I have no clue why, when I turn it on it gives me that thing where i click which option as in start windows normally, safe mode, safe mode with networking and something else. Then it loads and brings me to a black screen where you can only see the cursor and it stays like that forever. Please help!
TimeVex 2 years ago

I am exactly facing with this same problem with my dv6000 and wandering about opening the laptop and try to clean the noisy fan. But you suggest to replace whole motherboard? It shuts down after 30min or 3 hrs of noisy operation.

the best way is to watch my other video on hp custom solution, drill holes under the graphic card and put an air cooler right under. also replace the thermal paste and tighten the heatsink screws very hard, do not add 1penny like others say, if you want just add a flat copper plate.
reply4reply 2 years ago
is the motherboard for a dv2000 similar to this one? easier? also is there a way to make the laptop not over heat? can i install a better fan or an additional?
ELBEBEGTRS 2 years ago
as long as it has a silver palm rest its pretty much the same, the diffrence between 2000 and 6000 is graphic card is better and 2000 has the power button board on the actual heatsink rather than on the pannel. the rest is same.

I bellive my graphics chip has come unsoldered or blown .I may as well try the heating trick to re solder it back in .. But Where is the chip ,, Is it the VGA ? I was thinking of the term GPU ....
Many thanks for posting this !!
ZED74 2 years ago
the chip is the GPU graphic processing unit
which is near the processor, it will have either "nvidia logo on it"
some series have 2 of them. one smaller the other.

Great video. I live in the US. Can you recommend any good places to buy a new motherboard?
dvdragon 2 years ago
you can get from any ebay seller that provides 90 days warranty, usualy they're good from hongkong cause its cheaper but find who sends them without declaring full price to custom. the thing is these laptops overheat naturaly so a new mobo wont last long anyway..

I am realy sorry but I decided not to put the extended version online due to the time it takes to upload hd video.

Can you email a link to the longer video ? I'm trying to figure out what cable goes into the four white slots on mboard : (from left to right) : keybard, touchpad, display cable, (what is 4th one ?)
aalandan 2 years ago
laptop cables only fit into 1 place, there can never be 2 cables that fit same place
its like puzzle.
