  • hi m8 i would like to ask you a q.my sister has the same model and she had some problems logically with video card...she took the machine in a crap technician who claimed that was a power supply problem and he said that he took a coin and put it somewhere inside for the power supply, now the machine doesn't even open it;s the same model like the video ....i ldon't think he knew what he was doing,i mean now it dosen't even open......any chance know what he was trying to do or a solution?ty

  • im getting ready to do this to my lap top and every body is telling me about static electricity what should i use to help eliminate that problem? thanks.

  • @chuntcorey those who talk about static electricity tell them to take their Sh*t elsewhere :) like thunder it only kills once in 1 million chance, I've handled over 5000 laptops in my life and never wore antistatic wrisp and never had them going dead.

  • @reply4reply thanks

  • @reply4reply do you have any suggestions who to buy the board from? I've saw a lot on ebay but im a little cautious from them.

  • hi my friend..very good your video..i have a problem with my hp dv9000..I don`t know what is hapenning with the screen because the screen is well and suddenly appear blue or purple strips and small black square above all screen..I have done tests on my laptop changing the display but the problem continue..i have disarmed all my laptop thinking of cleaning but i don't give any solution. Please can you help me with this problem??

  • Amazing channel. I paid HP to replace the motherboard of my Pavilion dv6000 for $250.

  • That appears to be waaaaaayy too much thermal paste

these compounds are made to fill tiny imperfections in the surfaces they touch, not to conduct all heat. (physics student and PC builder)

  • i have a hp probook 4530 and i want to replace the motherboard. Can you make a video?

  • where you can buy a motherboard for DV6000 where have you bought from your

  • I hava a Compaq Presario V6000 with 4gb ram and an Intel Core Duo processor (T2250), Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit. I want to know if my motherboard can support the Intel Core i3 processor 2.93GHz, 4MB, S1156. I also want to know if the socket will fit (if the processor can fit). If not can you recomend some motherboards that will do the job but still work on my Compaq Presario V6000 laptop.

    Thanks

  • hi, very nice video. I had a couple of questions. One, do you have to use the same motherboard from your model computer, or for laptops are they able to have options of which one you want? Also, I want to change my processor and video card in my hp g62 and how do i make sure everything is compatible? I have tried hp and haven't found anything. Also, will i have to buy a new chipset. This type of stuff is so much harder on a laptop. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • Did you use 1 screw driver for every screw?

If so do you know what size it is.

    Thanks

  • I have a HP Elitebook 8730w. It needs a new motherboard. I've built desktop PCs before, how hard would it be to replace the motherboard?

  • Circuit-Level Laptop Motherboard Repair:

    PrecisionDivision . com

  • works!!! thank you!

  • nevermind i found the problem i forgot to connect the fan back on

  • @reply4reply NEED YOUR HELP I did the copper sheet and grease like you said and made holes. But now that everything is back together my computer randomly shuts off completely. Heres the things i did different though. I made 3 stack sheets of copper for one of the chips and also used brake grease for cars i figured it would be the same thing.

  • simple

  • I have a dv9605eo, and need to change the processor. The problem is i can't find out where to buy a new one..

the original processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK55.

  • Brilliant video. I managed to revive a dead laptop using this. Thanks!

  • my computer problem is similar to thedemoniaco's. however my DV9000 lights up the Power Strip Lights Up, Beeps,Shuts Down all in a lapse of about 2 seconds. at first i thought it was a power strip issue and i got a new one. do you think replicating the steps from the video above fix my problem? even though my computer does not turn on at all? do you think purchasing a new motherboard would fix the problem?

    thanks

  • fuck that. You lost me at motherboard haha.

  • This video is pretty transparent to comprehent...

My dv9000 have the common problem of blank scree.... Now there is an additional problem with it--> Once I turned it ON it works for a few seconds and then restarts, then again the same procedure and then it repeats this restarting process without any limit...

Can U explain me about how to fix this mess..

HP laps are a night mare for me. My brother's DV3000 too started this epidemic last month which costs nothing less than a MOBO replacement

  • Did you guys all get one of these duds like me? Let me guess, it broke just out of warranty? I made a petition for these to be recalled, here petitionspot (dot) com (slash) petitions (slash) igotadvdud

replace (dot) with . (slash) with / and remove spaces

  • Para empesar no esta usando el adecuado material para evitar la ESD (pulsera y alfombra).

Retirar la bateria, la memoria, disco duro tarjeta wireless y lectora para no tener que volver a dar vuelta al equipo

  • Hi. You says that you have web site with a longer video. What is the URL of your web site? I have a DV9000 I am rebuilding right now. Thanks for the great video.

    jack

  • Will a motherboard from another 17 inch dv9000 model work or must it be the exact one? For example, I have a dv9574, must I replace the motherboard with the exact one for a dv9574?

  • @mrabingdon not really, the diffrences between them are AMD or Intel processor

and graphic chip type. but makesure the graphic card heatsink will fit, some are triangle and some are a square. you should use the hp part number underneath the rams to find same one.

  • @reply4reply I have a DV9574ea but I cant find an exact replacement motherboard anywhere. Unfortunately my gpu had died.

  • @mrabingdon It doesn't have to be the same. I had a 9535nr with Intel Core 2 Duo and 256 MB Nvidia Graphics. I got a dv9700 motherboard with a Core 2 Duo slot and 512MB Nvidia memory. If you are replacing the board, why not upgrade at the same time :).

  • @jamerican347 can you give me the part number for the motherboard that you got for the preplacment?

  • @iivanov09 "HP Pavilion DV9000 DV9500 Motherboard 461069-001" Look for it on eBay. Should be cheaper now. I paid $155 in January.

  • I have a DV9000 and it keeps giving me a display error 'NVLDDMKM' it will stop working and then recover is the chip related or a software issue?

  • which way does the power cord go in. like two red toward the DVD drive.. or the two black.

  • Great video, works a charm. Repaired a few laptops with the Nvida chip problem using this video. If you live in Manchester UK and you have the Nvida chip problem get a quote from me.

  • Okay, I got the Charger beeping at me when i plug it in to the laptop now.. wtf did i miss.

  • Very good tutorial, other then that wash your hair

  • Can you guide me with what tools I would need for reballing?

  • I have a HP dv7 and it stoped working as in no lights at all no noise and I tested the power cord with another laptop and the powercord is okay. could it be the motherboard?

  • your motherboard needs reballing service then it'll work fine for ever.

  • @reply4reply So I will have to get the reballing balls and that heating gun? What is that thing that people use to hold the chips? I help people with Viruses for Free and such and some people give me laptops to fix and i encountered that problem that I mentioned before.

Your Instructions are pretty clear and understandable.

I am looking on your stream to see how can i do this. HPs are one of the messy laptops I have ever seen. Should I recommend people to use a can Air Compresor every..cont.

  • I am afraid reballing is not for everyone, especially on laptops. before doing reballing you'll need to be 100% perfect at removing and soldering back the smallest component on the motherboard using a microscope. then u can look into reballing

  • @reply4reply I will open the laptop and see if the balls are not in their proper place. I dont want to charge the person the money companies charge to get pcs fixed as I mostly fix them for free as i have spare time. so I am looking for a solution where i can fix it without charging this person any money. Unless I buy a motherboard then i will have to charge the person that price and that is all. what would you recommend me? I have experiences at installing hardware and software.

  • @thedemoniaco reballing is an ASSHOLE of a job if you dont have gray hair when you started you will (IF) you finish

  • @thedemoniaco

They seem to do absolutely nothing in this video to prevent the unit from breaking down again. Replacing these motherboards is a waste in most cases, but then again so is ruining the board using some crude repair technique found online.

There's a good Q & A at PrecisionDivision . com about this problem - and it explains it in detail. Before you start tearing apart and ruining your laptop, you might want to read it.

  • do ps3 and this laptop have the same mother board?

  • I just recently disassembled my dv9000(dv9628nr) in prep for motherboard replacement and I broke 2 cables in the process. Anyway or place I'd be able to pick these up other then buying a spare dv9000 for parts?

  • Hi, I resently instaled the motherboard exacrly like on the video and you video is great, the only thing is that when I turned on the laptop I never got the HP logo, the screen stayed blank and the lights on the power botton flicker then restarts, have any sugestions ???

  • @zyverEJ the motherboard is faulty. its gpu requires reballing.

or you haven't installed the processor or ram properly.

  • @reply4reply . Ok, ill see what went wrong, Thanks again for your video and your advise. Absolutly very helpfull

  • Hi, how much do you think it would cost to replace the motherboard in a Dell inspiron 5150 (2004 model)

  • Cool thats for posting, the speed is just right too.

  • I have a dv9925nr - Turion will this work for this model?

  • GREAT video you helped me a lot (belive me)

ok where i can find the "full version" ? (the slowest one)??

    PLease answere me ok?

    thanks

  • @SIMON23196 view other videos in my channel and u'll find it

  • do you know of a good site to buy hp motherboards looking for dv9854ca

  • Any suggestion from you where to buy a good one ? I have a Cu that needs one.

  • i have the dv9000, i had taken apart everything and done a little bit of heating up of the GPU. after that when i press the power button it just blinks once the blue light and then goes off. have i actually fried the GPU or is it something else? If its the GPU how much and where can i purchase one GPU MCP69D-A3 chip. i have tried all ebay as well as teh whole internet, no luck. could you please help?

  • Try my copper shim to greatly lower your gpu temps. Only $6 and comes with free thermal paste. Search for "dv9000 copper shim" on ebay.

  • Quick question. Is the processor soldered on to the motherboard?

  • @larepublica1 no its with pins like desktops, u can change it

  • once the laptop is apart is it possible to upgrade the graphics card? or is it hard wired to the motherboard?

  • @robbo654321 is it possible for you to upgrade? NO

is it possible to upgrade? yes (but using $2000 worth equipments) and super tech powers.."I done it" reply

  • @giliganfan LOL! You can find HP keybord on ebay for 10$

  • i have a problem with my laptop :(

  • what is your website url that has the full length video for replacing the dv9500 motherboard?

    thanks

  • The issue with the DV2000, DV6000, DV9000, TX1000, F500, F700 laptops happens to be both your fan, video memory, and video card.

If you do not update these files, you will need to have a BGA reflow service to fix your chipsets to restore your wireless and video. What will happen is you will get no video, all blue lights, and the system will cycle on and off every 1 to 2 minutes.

Check Doubleclickittofixit on Google to fix it.

  • BGA reflow is a simple fix that doesnt last long, it lasts maximum 4 months its delaying the problem from re-occuring the permanent fix is reballing which I am working on hard to do. the issue is (lead free solder) which is used and cracks and melts easy. reballing means replacing lead free solder with old type solder that doesnt melt or crack in high tempretures.

guys who do reflow would know that. I do reflow for my clients and I tell them it will last just 2 to 3 months.

  • hey do u know how i can stop my computer from going on for 2 seconds then going off and repeating that cycle for days?cause iv tried so many peoples methods to fix it but still nothing

  • either the heatsink isnt connected properly or the motherboard is dead.

  • Your video is very helpful and I've managed to remove the motherboard of my HP DV9000 laptop, but I'm still in the process of finding a place to buy another.

Are there any reliable websites or places that you can recommend me to buy a new motherboard from?

Thanks again! This video was perfect for an amateur like me.

  • hi, i've HP DV9750ev notebook and i have VGA problem.

when turning on NB first of all appear white line between top and bottom sides and there are two bios widow and desktop. i know it's VGA problem but if you give me solution i'll be glad...

  • is dv9500's video chip integred or dedicated?

  • great video man thanks a lot this company try to charge me 285.00 to do a 100.00 I CAN DO IT BY MY SELF work =D

  • if another human being can do it, you can

if you feel stressed leave it, then comeback to it when you relax, removing boards needs patience and consontration if I spelt the last correct. Reply

  • Concentration.

  • nice video, but you know guy, with the video, people tried to burn our their HP laps, and trying to repair your dv2000 or 6000 or 9000 at home like that is killing the motherbroad or sensible components without ground protection. some end up throwing it away, some re-send the shit result to tech repair and pay more expensif, a few ones lucky but sure that can stand still for 2 months ? or end up with lying people on ebay when saling ?

HP(s) with chipset nvidia and AMD are su**k !

  • the motherboard is too expansive for change, i will buy a tecra , pavillion model are fragile

  • And something else I must say, these problems have absolutely nothing to do with dust as the video description says - google "Nvidia Defect" and you'll see...

  • I sent this back for three repairs, 4th time went wrong got a £1100 replacement unit. long ride though...

  • i have a HP DV9500 and every time i try to boot i get Operating System not found? help lol

  • looks like you need a new hard drive.

  • I currently have a hp that had a bad nvdia card go and took the motherboard with it. It is a 444002 001 model motherboard and I was wondering do I have to replace it with that exact one or could I get another mother board with a different serial number.

  • yeah exact one. ebay it by 444002

  • You dont need any Gun. only a penny and better push point. are all here stupid. all repair is temp....

  • Followed the video, now when I press the start button it makes three or four loud beeps, and then does nothing, black screen, no cursor nothing.

This is fairly advanced for a newbie, imo.

  • Hi, I've been following this video trying to do this myself. Do i need to buy new thermal paste and it appears i'm missing some screws should i buy these to attach aswell?

  • yes

  • I think I had that dust problem you were talking about and fried my video card because its doing some weird stuff. Not sure if I have to replace just the vc, or the whole motherboard yet but... do you know the best website to buy replacement parts in the States?

  • Ok so my laptop just died the other day and I have no clue why, when I turn it on it gives me that thing where i click which option as in start windows normally, safe mode, safe mode with networking and something else. Then it loads and brings me to a black screen where you can only see the cursor and it stays like that forever. Please help!

  • Also where do you put the thermal paste you talked about on inserting the processor. I'm thinking about buying a motherboard off ebay and fix my notebook. Thanks for uploading such a helpful video!

  • Hey man i have the black screen problem on my hp pavilion dv9005us laptop and i was told it was the motherboard. I want to replace the motherboard by watching your video but i am really scared to remove the processor. Would you please tell me if is too dangerous to remove the processor and if you could give me some tips on how to remove and insert it onto the new motherboard safely. Thanks in advance, your video might actually save my notebook. :)

  • Hi, I spilled water on my keyboard and then the laptop turned off. It won't turn on anymore. What do you think would be the major damage? What would I need to replace?

  • leave it to dry for 3 days, if still the same problem watch my video on how to wash motherboards if still the same replace motherboard

  • Thanks, i'll definitely try it out!

  • hey dude i have a question for you! I have hp laptop 6810us. In ode day my sound stopped working.I reinstalled the driver but no luck. Then i a installed my operating system and the drivers and again no luck. Sometimes when i restart it installs the drivers automatically and my sound is working for 1 hour or more and it stops.

  • some motherboards have these defects. sofar no fix found yet.

  • question: my laptop charger got messed up and my father made one all it needed was a new tip it was working good until i saw a spark and it turned off then it wouldnt turn on anymore so is this the mother board or something else?

  • did u try another charger?

  • yes i have used another charger

  • I am exactly facing with this same problem with my dv6000 and wandering about opening the laptop and try to clean the noisy fan. But you suggest to replace whole motherboard? It shuts down after 30min or 3 hrs of noisy operation.

  • if you check my channel, ive put a video how to clean hp fans properly, don't change motherboard

the same will happen. there will be a very good video on that this monday comeback then to see

  • Thanks! I'll be Backkk. ;D

  • i just inherited a disassembled hp dv9000 and i am trying to reassemble it. it also needs a new hard drive. could u give me any tips?

  • what kind of screw driver did you use

  • thank man.. very helpfull videos... i took my motherboard out without a problem... we'll see how i do putting it back together once i get my new mother board.... I'm having issues finding this part.... woul dyou be able to tell me where to find and which one is fo rmy laptop?? i have the dv2000 with intel.... is it part # 440777-001 or 440778-001 .. im not sure what the difference is...

  • the best way is to watch my other video on hp custom solution, drill holes under the graphic card and put an air cooler right under. also replace the thermal paste and tighten the heatsink screws very hard, do not add 1penny like others say, if you want just add a flat copper plate.

  • is the motherboard for a dv2000 similar to this one? easier? also is there a way to make the laptop not over heat? can i install a better fan or an additional?

  • as long as it has a silver palm rest its pretty much the same, the diffrence between 2000 and 6000 is graphic card is better and 2000 has the power button board on the actual heatsink rather than on the pannel. the rest is same.

  • I bellive my graphics chip has come unsoldered or blown .I may as well try the heating trick to re solder it back in .. But Where is the chip ,, Is it the VGA ? I was thinking of the term GPU ....

Many thanks for posting this !!

  • the chip is the GPU graphic processing unit

which is near the processor, it will have either "nvidia logo on it"

some series have 2 of them. one smaller the other.

  • Great video. I live in the US. Can you recommend any good places to buy a new motherboard?

  • you can get from any ebay seller that provides 90 days warranty, usualy they're good from hongkong cause its cheaper but find who sends them without declaring full price to custom. the thing is these laptops overheat naturaly so a new mobo wont last long anyway..

  • I think i have a problem where i have to replace my mother board too but I was just wondering where I can buy a replacement mother board?

  • which country you live in?

  • United States

  • Hi Lofti,

I want to have a look on the longer version of you video...but what is your website URL ?

    Thks

  • I am realy sorry but I decided not to put the extended version online due to the time it takes to upload hd video.

  • No problem Lotfi but your short version is really very good and very helpfull.

  • Can you email a link to the longer video ? I'm trying to figure out what cable goes into the four white slots on mboard : (from left to right) : keybard, touchpad, display cable, (what is 4th one ?)

  • laptop cables only fit into 1 place, there can never be 2 cables that fit same place

    its like puzzle.
