Thank you very much for posting this sir. I own a copy of "Up Front" by Bill Mauldin. I inherited it from my Daddy, who roamed around with the 2nd Armored Division for a while. He told me about General Patton's distaste for Mauldin. Pops claimed to have driven General Patton for a spell. Knowing my old man, and his lifelong disdain for authority, I can't imagine that that arrangement lasted very long.
Anyways, that book is one of my prized possessions, as it was to Dad.
