This now a fav..I have been a fan of Carl since the Cosmos series was shown on tv in the 80's in Aust. He opened my eyes to humanisim and to reject religion, to look to the universe as it really is. For that Carl will never be forgotten by me...THank you
Much like the poetry of the Genesis creation story was read during the Apollo 8 mission, this should be spoken either on our next foray to the moon or our first to Mars.
yes, i agree with many comments posted here, it is beautiful; and although Sagan was perhaps the most famous for popularizing astronomy for the "rest of us," there is, in every backyard astronomer, a little philosopher awaiting to wake up to the vastness of space and its implications.
excellent dude. Carl is a poet. You didn't need to do much since the oratory is perfect... but your additions were very tasteful. Kudos and long live Carl's spirit.

[He is] The Originator of the heavens and Earth. When He decides on something, He just says to it, "Be!" and it is.

Praise belongs to God Who created the heavens and the Earth and appointed darkness and light. Then those who do not believe make others equal to their Lord! (Qur'an, 6:1)

Imagine how much better our world would be if everyone watched this video, or even just read this quote.

"Every human being that ever was, lived there - on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam." That line gets me every time

Carl Sagan now has a posse. A wonderful tribute. Favorited.
If you want to, have a look at my home-brew Sagan-related vidoes shot in his adopted hometown of Ithaca, NY.
