obviously the words are understood by the shipibo, nacho. feeling them is just as important, but,Language is sacred. You have this big problem with westerners, but apparently no problem with adopting their language, or sitting on the laptops THEY MADE. It seems you need a good ceremony to release your ridiculous amount of arrogance. If you understand with the heart so much, maybe you should get off your facebook, and go help someone else to understand, instead of sounding like a plastic asshole.
@giovannis11607 - you should have taken a deep breath before saying that, but you have a point; there is a lot of anti-western feeling in Latin America and nacho sums it up. I remember an Indonesian guy telling me to stop thinking with my head and start thinking with my heart. Thought about that for a long time...but I think they are just as confused. Thinking is for the head. Feeling is for the "heart". The heart leads, the head follows...trying to make sense of it all. Don't confuse the two.
Something in me feels great sadness when I hear this. It's as if the lineage in my DNA calls out to me begging me to understand. I look at the world around me and my spirit feels sadness. I feel like I belong more with my ancestors, like I'm suppose to bring something back to them from this accelerated time in the present.
Entrancing. This brings me there, to the jungle. Thank you for posting this. It makes me want to wish Peace & Love to all. ( so I do). Peace & love to ALL.
In ayahuasca Icaros the words are sacred, and they heal. You don't need to "understand" them, you have to feel them. Westerns think that things need to be UNDERSTOOD in a rational way. Here in Southamerica we understand things with the heart, but you won't understand that.. peace.
The problem with this is the language - I don't understand a word of it. I imagine that the words are carefully chosen to add to the experience. It's more than just the sounds. So, are you in a position to provide a translation?
Sadly the web site shamansoftheamazon does not now exist.

@giovannis11607 This anger is not good for your spirit. Perhaps you could try to help someone understand instead of berating them.
-much love

I think I'll listen to this when I use my ayahuasca brew about two hours or so from now.

Where in Peru did you shoot the footage? We just did an interview with Vegetalista Orlando Chujandama outside of Iquitos.

Beautiful. I am looking forward to my own (first) trip to the jungle and meeting the Shipibo. Thanks for sharing.
