thats kind of what my sisters house looks like,but she has 2 floors,the top floors hallways are much more spacious and we used to all sleep upstairs in case some one broke into the home.

I love that in traditional japanese culture - they take their shoes off when they go in the home. It's just cleaner than American style of bringing the outdoors in.

@VideoGuyNC Umm, i'm absolutley American. My mother is Sicilian-American and my father is Black/Puerto Rican. No asian what so ever. And since i was born its been an absolute rule to take off the shoes at the door before walking around the house. Its not just "Japanese Culture" to take shoes off.

yeah it's called a washitsu. There's no good room for it so I call it the versatile room because that storage is for putting the various sets of furniture use to change it from a living room to a dining room to a den, etc.
