This makes me wonder if Monticello, Indiana has any other Federal Model 500ATs around? I bet this siren was purchased with DCPA matching fund grants, in the wake of the April 3, 1974 tornado. The storm that tore through that town, and was a 1 kilometer wide monstrous F4 killer tornado. It completely devastated the city.

Nice find, I live in South Bend, just to the north east, There is a Thunderbolt at Indiana beach, think its on top of one of the rides if I am not mistaken. Can't imagine it going off while people are at the top, lol.

That is definitely a Federal Signal 500A(T), great find! You should try and record it someday, if you ever get the chance!

The control boxes give it away. ACA always used more compact boxes that had gasketing around the edges of the door. Also, the P-10s have a narrower horn and a taller narrower motor housing.
