  • This isn't Conway. It's David Houston.

  • @BaronTurco yes, David Houston had a good version of this song; butl lsten to the voice and the band. It is Conway. Go back and listen to the versiion by David..

  • @BaronTurco

    This is Conway Twitty!

  • CONWAY HAD THE BEST PEDAL STEEL GUITAR PLAYER EVER (PAPA JOHN HUGHEY)

  • I'm 18 and wish he was still around so I could meet him.... it seems there's not many good people like him that kids can look up to these days

  • @aannnnaa2 .....I was lucky enough to meet Conway at the Indian Rock Nightclub in Knoxville Tennessee. A true Southern Gentleman and a great singer. Wish you could have had the chance to meet him to. He was something else and a great loss to all of us.

  • Love this song...thanks for the post

  • Love the steel guitar

  • "Gonna do this one as an Elvis version today. I feel I owe it to him for all the others I sing of his. I feel he gave me his voice when he died!"

  • What a song. They dont make em like this anymore.

  • this is what country music was sounding like. Dam i miss that.

  • Excellent version by the late Conway, , check out my version ,under arinvests ~ Arthur, its pretty good !

  • love this song but think george jones is better i like the softer music in jones but both great legends and have tons of respect for both

  • this is ALMOST as good as back in the day when me , mamaw and whoever would gather in the middle room ., pull out the records and play ., love those memories ...

  • @shanhughes1971 I have those memories too. George Jones, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Freddy Hart, Hank Williams Jr. etc. Mama used to play them all and I still do now. Mama is 72 and just listens and tells me how to play them now. She's still the boss. LOL

  • there is nothing better than conway singing what a great singer we lost.you know where he singing now.

  • Conway can do any song, any time and make it so sexy sounding. Love him..

  • Conway does it great but David Houstons version unbeatable...

    Both sadly missed..

  • @joemanpjg I agree, but check out my version , under arinvests , its pretty good, let me know ! ~ Arthur

  • i like conway alot...But i heard hank jr.s version before and it rocks. This makes me want to go to sleep. No offense to Conway though one of the alltime greats.

  • VERY GOOD LOVE YOU CONWAY RIP

  • LOVE YOU CONWAY TWITTY .

  • Now this is a true country song w/ a true country singer. Conway did ever song he sang a favor....He sings them all like he lived each one. Truly "The Best Song A Friend Ever Had!"

A Die Hard Conway Fan From NE PA.

  • this deffo conway....lovely song:x

  • This proves that Conway Twitty was, is, and always will be "The Best Friend A Song Ever Had".

  • David Houston might have had the hit, but Conway Twiity puts more emotion in this version. In the 1960s many country artists would record their versions of the top songs in country music on their albums, this being a good example. However, kudos to David and Conway. You two are sorely missed. Rest in Peace David Houston and Conway Twitty.

  • This IS CONWAY! There are a few people who do this song wonderfully, and one is Conway Twitty, Etta James, Tammy Wynette and David Houston. I love Conway's voice!

  • this isn't conway. this is a recording done by bill ramsey done in 1967...

  • this is not conway ,i am a BIG fan and there is nothing of his voice in this .love you conway and you are one of the best .R.N.P

  • sorry i have to say i now think this is conway the more i hear it ,i love this song and conway ................R.I.P xxxx

  • Great song Conway, now you sing with the Angels. Goodbye til we all see you there.

  • You can tell when Conway sings his voice is unmistakeable. He is the king of country music in my book and always will be. Very sadly missed by all one of the best if not the best ever country singer ever. I will always love Conway!

  • Thats not Conway

  • yes it is Conway .He was really young when this was recorded. Listen closely and you can hear his growl sound he is known for and the tones matched Conway .Great song by a great performer.

  • I truly don't believe this is Conway

  • I got to see Conway over 100 times and this brings back a lot of memories thanks

CONWAY YOU ARE SO LOVED AND MISSED

  • Conway Twitty, The High Priest of Country Music. You truly where and still are the best friend a song ever had. This is the Conway I remember...so is every other song he did...Classic truly classic. RIP

  • is this really Conway Twitty? the voice seems very different from what I remember, or is this back in his very early years?

  • Great Song! Brings Back momoies! Thanks for Posting!

  • What a beautiful tribute to Conway. Conway is sadly missed, but will never be forgotten. I am grateful I had the chance to see him perform live and also treasured memories of a cruise with him and Loretta and family.

  • this is great the first time i heard conway sing this song i do love the original by david huston but i will admit conway does ir even better.. conway is so sadly missed, one of the best . veracarole

  • where can i find this song

  • Before he went CW Conway was a teen idol and an excellent rocker. My favorites by Conway are Is A Bluebird Blue and Lonely Blue Boy. This song and Slow Hand are probably my favorites of his country recordings.

  • We saw Conway live in Lake Ozark, Mo in the 80's and that was one helluva show. He came on stage at the opening and did not leave until the show was over. He sang and sang and sang, tt was the best show I've ever seen. Country Music lost a fantastic performer when he passed away.

  • Wonderful.

So much better than George Jones's version of this song.

  • Conway does have his way with a song! Thanks for listening!

  • @livingadream2 Also better than the original by David Houston's. Although David had the hit with his distinctive high tenor voice, Conway's version is more soulful with his trademark growl and it puts you in his place as the one being "Almost Persuaded".

  • @livingadream2 thanks for uploading this song favorite song artist ever

  • i met conway before become country ,, rip conway

  • Thanks for posting this great song by Conway. I have record albums of him and also some CDS. I always loved to hear him sing. I give U 5 *****. May God Bless You. It is my first and I give God all of the Glory for it.
