  • Every day, I prepare a good cup of tea with fresh leaves of wormwood (called Shaybah).

I find it in an arab grocery store, near my house. They sell in clumps.

Tonic, appetizer and digestive. In this way, I avoid alcohol completely and I taste the flavor of grass. Simple, isn'it?

  • fail

  • that bottle has illuminati all over it

  • lol you only get hallucinations if it isn't made correctly, mainly when they add copper mixtures for color. and absinthe isn't the crazy alcohol content everybody says i drink the stuff straight. you want something crazy go get some moonshine

  • it was actually lifted in 2002.

  • This vid was made in '06, but in '07 the ban in the US was lifted. Also, it isn't wormwood that made it 'hallucinogenic', but the chemical known as thujone. Absinthes sold in the US are thujone-free, as far as I know.

  • @LizofLamont The levels of thujone are strictly regulated in the US, I believe.

  • @LizofLamont It's not thujone that made it 'hallucinogenic'. No absinthe drinkers were ever reported to have hallucinations except for end-stage alcoholics in asylums. The idea was that absinthe drinking drives you mental sooner than other alcohol, but its real goal was to ban the most fashionable alcoholic drink (chronic alcoholism raged like plague back then).

Thujone-free in US means < 10 ppm. Many of the old absinthes had only as little as that, and they had 25 ppm on average.

  • @nalyib ...hence why I put 'hallucinogenic' in quotations.

  • @LizofLamont thujone distills out of the wormwood. And the chemical affects of thujone are convulsions, not halucinations.

  • Absinthe smells like Jagermeister??? Dude, Jagermeister smells like Absinthe!!!

  • The burning of the sugar and alcohol create a certain chemical reaction that actually helps make the drink more potent.

  • @thegohan I see, so destroying BOTH alcohol and herbal essences gives something extra... pray tell, how does it make a drink more potent? Are we supposed to trip ballz on water and caramel? It's just another urban legend spread by desperate companies who make money by selling liquid crap.

  • Okay, If this was a original preparation, He would be lighting the sugar cube on fire. The proper way is: Take a cup and put a sugar cube on the special spoon that has holes in it and sit the spoon on the rim of the glass. Take 2 ounces of Absinthe and gently pour it over the sugar cube, slowly. After that, Ignite the sugar cube and let burn for about 25 seconds. Blow the fire out and stir the spoon and sugar remains into the drink.

  • @thegohan no that's not the original way to make it, that would be a Bohemian Absinthe. but this schmuck didn't use enough Absinthe, to much water and a lump of granulated sugar instead of a cube

  • YAY absinth is legal:D I don't fucking care i live in Denmark it was legal all along..

  • The best flavour is: 1 part Absinthe/2 Parts Water/Zero (0) Suger.

Suger ruins the experience and was originally added to inferior, cheap adulterated Absinthe in the 19th century. There is no reason to continue this polluting unhealthy detraction!

  • @MushroomedAnymore Pernod Fils was advertised and usually drunk with sugar and 5 parts water. Guess it was 'inferior', then.

I started off with 2 parts too, but realised it won't really blossom. Most people refuse to dilute it 'properly' only because they expect absinthe to remain somewhat alcoholic and liqueur-ish (20-25% ABV). But absinthe is intended to be wine-ish, actually. (I understand, though, that some will never like it that way.)

  • way way to much whater according to me but im not an expert. and also you might wana try to lit the sugar on fire ad then poor the whater. oh well hope it tasted good anyways : )

  • Its not hallucinogenic, the only thing special about it, is its very high alcohol/volume ca 70 % in some varieties. so drinking a lot of it isnt recommended

  • I, I drank the rest of it....

  • look at the bottom of the glas, then did u see a devil face? that is proper glas for it

  • don't water it down you pussy :D

  • Absinthe is like any other booz.. lol

  • You can buy Absinthe in the states, it is no longer banned.

  • Ok you are a drunk idiot XD

  • i'll stick with mtn dew thx

  • is it worse than 151 if you drink it strait?

  • @65c the lowest proof absinthe ive seen is 138 proof which is almost 70%, it can go up to 190 proof, so yea, it is definitely not recommended to drink absinthe straight.

  • Get some real drugs, be peaceful and have fun :) DMT is the future...

  • God, he's so cool I'm going to explode... Sounds like the DJ from Pulp Fiction...

  • I'm an absinthe drinker. I don't hallucinate.

  • @TheLechugasBarabas Because Wormwood isn't in it anymore.

  • @bskdopeboy Artemisia absinthium is now allowed in the manufacture of Absynthe sold in the United States. Not sure when this was changed, but it is the case now. Prior to this, companies manufactured Absynthe with petite wormwood because it contained little or no Thujone.

  • @TheLechugasBarabas I have never hallucinated. But I have experienced quite vivid and lucid dreams. Whether this is because of the thujone, the alcohol, or the experience of the evening I can not say. But when consuming Absynthe the effect is always there.

  • Absinthe is legal in the states. Nothing unpredictable about it.

  • Why would you drink something so unpredictable, and risky. It sounds dangerous.

  • La Fée is not a real Absinthe but something that's a bit similar to it.

You should go for Libertine 72°, it's still not absolutely historical correct, but cheap and tastes acceptable. Verté des Fougerollés is still not to expensive, but correctly produced and very good Absinthe.

The real deal would be the Absinthe from Duplais and Jade, as well as Matter-Luginbuehl.

And Absinthe doesn't have any toxic effects at all, it's only the high proof that makes people quickly drunk...

  • Naa drink it neat its lush i got the blue one and its nice neat however it evapirates befor it gets down to my belly mine is 160 proof 80 percent alcohole

  • you're doing it wrong

  • pause, then press 6. i can see a creepy face in the absinthe. Anyone else see it?

  • @KylesAwesomeVids its part of the glass hes using you can see it even before he pours the absinthe

  • @TheWarbeast60 oh i see it now. my bad.

  • @KylesAwesomeVids Yea but you can see the face in the bottom of the glass before he pours in the absinthe. Probably just the design of the glass.

  • You might want to consider taking this misinformation off Youtube, or edit it to bring it up to date, like the fact that there is no medical, scientific or psyhological proof that the wormwood, or any element that goes into absinthe produces any hallucinogenic effects. You were clever to state those as purported claims. Perhaps a bit more learned research on your part will bring about more educated video presentations about this magnificent drink. Respect the drink is all, like any alcohol.

  • People like you are the reason absinthe was banned. There is not one shred of medical evidence that supports your/(anyone's) claim that wormwood is a hallucinogenic compound. Don't believe me?Prove me wrong. You can drink a case of the stuff and not suffer anything more than a wicked drunk and worse hangover. Videos of this nature are misleading, filled with error and contribute to absinthe's villainy.

  • @therealmcdickson There's nothing wrong with relating the lore behind absinthe, he's not making an assertion that it does cause hallucinations

  • @therealmcdickson Google alcohol poisoning--surprise! Drinking a case of absinthe? Not so safe after all. You start out with a great point, and end with a sputtering cough, spewing the last remnants of a point across the room, far away from you.

  • @therealmcdickson, to befair, he said "supposedly".

  • @therealmcdickson You wont have a hangover from it- but you'll put yourself under the table before betting even close to having enough hallucination to take effect. It was hella outlawed because of CHEAP shit absinthe which was filled with all sorts of poisons

  • @therealmcdickson Wormwood contains Thujone. Thujone is hallucinogenic in MUCH larger amounts than is normally contained in modern absinthe. The "study" that was done for absinthe was like the "study" done for cannabis. Mice were given alcohol, and a different batch were given shit tons of pure thujone vapor. The mice seized and convulsed, and the rest was very false history. Let's not forget about the millions who go home and beat their family when drinking regular alcohol. Absinthe =/= worse.

  • @therealmcdickson you are not right, wormwood .. and thujone exactly is the name of compound which is hallucinogenic, however there is not enough of it in absinth, you will get poisoned by alcohol before you will be able to have any halucinations ..

here are some refs: Deutsche Lebensmittel-Rundschau

Volume 102, Issue 10, October 2006, Pages 457-463 or Sucht

Volume 51, Issue 1, February 2005, Pages 19-25 (both are in english) and many more..

  • @sandtr00per Actually, it's a ridiculous misunderstanding. French doctors thought that thujone makes people crazy, and THEN they begin to hallucinate. They knew that alcohol does the same, but they thought the process is faster with wormwood. Absinthe wasn't believed to have direct hallucinogenic effects before the 1970's, when some idiots missed the whole point of absinthism and made a false paralel between thujone and THC. There are no records of anyone hallucinating on any amount of thujone.

  • @therealmcdickson im drinking a mugfull of absinthii herba tea and it took care of my heartburn prblem. Never had any halucinations though, wtf?

  • @therealmcdickson - so let me get this straight, you are saying that the drink was banned in your country, NOT because there was any medical evidence to support its effects, but rather because people think it has some?

Sorry dude, that makes no sense

  • @ugli1 Actually, countries banned absinthe because it was "well known to be poisonous". They just believed French scientists and banned it. There was no way actually proving that absinthe was poisonous or harmless, so it "had" to be done as precaution, and rather, as a precursor of general alcohol prohibition.

  • @therealmcdickson actually traditional old Absinthe really is damaging to health in the long term. Many countries don't even sell the old style Absinthe today, but adjusted versions due to this fact. Perhaps you should do some research.

  • @ccollins90 Actually you guys better come up with some evidence because that theory was never proven, but it was was proven WRONG years ago. Perhaps you should do some research.

Some countries restrict thujon levels below 10 ppm (not out of any reasonable consideration; they just want it to be thujone-free) instead of the perfectly safe ≈35 ppm EU-standard, but many Belle Époque absinthes were also <10 ppm.

  • @therealmcdickson If you drank a case of the stuff...you'd probably die from alcohol poisoning...but yea you won't go mad or any of that BS

  • @therealmcdickson is it still possible to get visions from it though

  • @therealmcdickson lol, its hot hallucinogenic, and it wasn't said that it is.. its psychoactive

  • That being said, legends are fun to perpetuate. They did at the turn of the last Century which led both to its popularity and subsequent demise.

  • lol absinthe hasent been eligal for the last 10 years. The american absinthe is the same as spanish and french. Thair are a lot of silly superstissions about it if you are experincing huluitinations or thoughts of suicide you are an end stage alcoholic and should seak help. It just makes you feal more awake so you remember and feal more awake on the drunk.

  • @moondood90 The only comment needed on the video :-) Thank You, for being informed.

  • Absinth in France is not distilled like in the old days. It's illegal over here. I think you can still find REAL absinthe in Switzerland, and Spain. The one that makes people crazy, I mean.

  • @EivomSeb2011 Plus, in order to experience adverse affects from the thujon, you'll need to have drunk enough of this 140+ proof liquor to have fatal alcohol poisoning.

  • @EivomSeb2011 Absinthe has been legal in France since 1988; they just weren't allowed to label it Absinthe (now they are). Traditional absinthe have been distilled in France for at least 8 years now. (And some mixed swill is also made there, like in almost every other country, of course.)

  • wormwood does not make you hallucinate wtf????? get it right people

  • i did use a dropper when preparing mine. i prefer it.

  • i'm drinkin this right now.

  • Van Gogh had lead poisoning from his paints that made his ears ring... driving him mad which is why he cut off his ear...

  • Where u get absinth thats make u see green things??

  • not illegal anymore

  • on absinthe, thats like saying i was on vodka

  • That's a weak dose man....try double

  • Making absinth is no rocket science. I've made it in the past and it bloody tastes awful. I have to say that it does not what it claims to do. It will get you drunk and probably kill any parasitic warms you might have in your tummy. I think historically absinth's reputation was built more on the bad chemicals that made it look artificially green rather than the wormwood itself. Dont buy absinth that looks radioactive green. True absinth is more like a dark green colour. Good luck.

  • @maximon72 Well, it's quite rocket science, and that's why your absinthe tasted awful. If I distill my own Cognac, it's going to taste afwul at first, too:P

You're right about it's bad reputation, btw. The quality (and quantity!) of alcohol and the chemical providing a fake louche effect were also serious and overlooked issues.

  • This isn't the correct way of preparing absinthe. First you must pour that whole little bottle into the glass. Then... you drink it.. no sugar.. no water.. it kills the absinthe..

  • @ShaolinDeadlyGamers Too bad that no absinthe distiller ever heard about your theory. They still adjust their recipes in a way that they'll taste best when diluted.

@The28thEstate It's 3-6 part depending on initial ABV.

You shoudn't expect the character of a liquor when drinking absinthe; rather that of a good wine. It'll still taste good when poorly diluted, but somewhat dull.

  • @ShaolinDeadlyGamers

    You are soo wrong there.

  • BAHHAHAHAHA!

This guy is wrong about everything! One he says pour slowly....yeah you do so why didnt you do it you idiot? haha

Second it is not 6 part water its 3 parts ice water, 1 part absinthe.

I suggest 'loa Coquette for absinthe drinkers fairly pricey, but gets the job done.

this man is a fool, and a tool.

ALSO! dont expect to halucinate that usually does not happen. i have drinken absinthe multiple times and it is more of a giggly happy sensation than a trip.

  • sloooowly pour water....... BOOM = waterfalls

  • I need to ask someone who has tried the Euro stuff with 30 mg and what you felt trying it. I have tried Lucid -and I have read up on it the recipe is correct, so you get the authentic flavor and ingredients but in the US the Thujone is limited to 30 PPM (filtered out) possibly like coffee without the caffeine I suppose -then it is debated whether or not the 100 year old stuff EVER had that much Thujone in it. For my part I did notice I had a happier buzz and I felt very energetic and focused.

  • as a frequent visitor to amsterdam, it is very popular over there. There is even a absinthe bar. Van Gogh was a famous person who loved absinthe. In fact he was using it when he cut off his ear.

  • Where is the lightnin? Try 2 get absinth from the originators: swiss and/or austria...

I figured out three ways of highness, on dope, on alc, on absinth...

    =)

  • He said it was a sugar cube, were you not paying attention?

  • Did you put cocaine on the spoon?

  • i mixed my absinthe with sprite last week and it had a great louche and a great taste.

  • You pour the water waaaay too fast. It has to be almost drop by drop.

  • whats the difference between burning the sugar and not?

  • @Orlandorod409

yeah, cuz burned sugar = carmel = brown... but in the taste.. i dont think so nor in the effects

  • Yea, and we cannot see tits on regular TV... Go figure...

  • Comment removed

  • Also, everybody OUTSIDE of the states knows that if you hallucinate on absinthe... you've had some pretty bad stuff, or it was spiked.

  • Hemmingway fought through World War I and the Spanish Civil War... and was admitted to a mental asylum after a long bout of alcoholism (one of his drinks happened to be absinthe)... He committed suicide a few days after getting out. Asylums in that day were absolutely terrible. Hemmingway was also found to have a genetic brain-degenerating disease. With everything Hemmingway saw and experienced in his life... Absinthe was the LEAST of the cause of his suicide.

  • the u.s is so petty in it's laws

  • didn't even mix it...

  • stupid american!!! guns you can buy legally !!! go shoot your self !!! it tastes like jagermiester !!! yep get that legal gun and pop your self in the head !!! absinthe is a dream please go get some sort of education cos ya american one is !!! well basically shite xxxxx big love and keep using your legal guns !!!!!

  • van gogh actually also tasted his paints and paint thinner... so you know he had other things going on other than drinking absinthe

  • what if i drink it right out of the bottle with no preparation?????????

  • @xXeMiLlXxPL aooo sheet, you waste a premium spirit, then?????? ;) The recipes are optimized to 11-12% ABV when it comes to real absinthe.

  • Yes but absinthe dosen't have wormwood in anymore

  • @JayDan2010 The stuff sold as 'absinthe' in the USA doesn't, but European absinthe does - albeit with the wormwood content strictly regulated. Czech and Swiss absinthe is more like the drink of artists and bohemians. Absinthe was never banned in Swizerland, Czechaslovakia (Czech republic today) or the United Kingdom but many countries including France did ban it.

  • @absinthedude And where the F did u check that?Had you got any idea about distillation and wormwood, you'd know that most of the thujone doesn't make it through the 'brandy-method', so real US absinthe is distilled with wormwood.

'Czech absinth' has nothing to do with absinthe anyway.

Absinthe WAS banned in Switzerland 1907-2005... congrats on your research. Oh and absinthe was a common drink, like beer today, not only that of artists and bohemians. Stop trolling around with urban legends pls. :/

  • ewwwwwww smells like yayger? im not trying this shit now.

  • Better is Czech absinth Huffing Ritual :) This is weak ;-)

  • We drikning Absinthe without water... and on a differend way.. A WAY MORE BETTER THEN THIS!

  • I take it it's not the kind of thing you can just have with coke and a slice of lemon? ^_^ haha

  • @lippy88lizzy The Green Fairy is all about freedom and creativity, prepare it how you wish. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it. If you want it neat you can, use the bohemian method of setting the sugar cube alight. Or if you want to try it with coke and a slice of lemon go for it :p

It's only the traditionalists that will say this is the correct method.

  • so...what happens if you drink straight absinthe????

  • @jasmin452 nothing..

  • @jasmin452 You waste it since you won't feel most of its taste.

  • What are the effects that you have experienced?

  • honestly this tastes like listerine! but with a burning effect on your throat. thats how I can explain it

  • oh, I got a big bottle of that right beside me now...

  • LOL so you can legaly buy guns in the states but absinthe is illegal....

  • @G00n3r4Life haha only in America !

  • @G00n3r4Life LOL

  • @G00n3r4Life As well as when a girl turns 18 she is not old enough to drink, but she is old enough to get gang banged.

  • @G00n3r4Life actually it's not illegal in the states at all. i just bought some at the liquor store the other day. it's just harder to find good quality absinthe in the states unless you shop online.

  • @G00n3r4Life why shouldn't you be able to buy guns or anything else for that matter

  • its legal now

  • @G00n3r4Life It's legal in the UK. You can just buy a bottle of it from Tesco XD

  • Absinthe is legal now.

  • @G00n3r4Life Absinthe im legal in my country :D

  • @DrSeronja Do you want your blue peter badge through the post...

  • @G00n3r4Life Not anymore.

  • @G00n3r4Life guns dont kill people. stupid people with guns kill people. its not like the gun gets up and says hmmm im gonna go shoot someone today

  • @G00n3r4Life Yeah its bullshit, we get cheap knockoff guns (semi-automatic only) and low alcoholic absinthe. I want fully automatic and fully potent absinthe. Fuck bureaucrats.

  • @xxxxAXIxxxx Good marksmen don't need automatic guns for personal purposes. Also, one of the most traditional (let's say, "potent") type of absinthes (Swiss la Bleue) is bottled only 100-110 proof. The 19th century adulterated crap that drove drunkards sick and crazy was, again, typically 100 proof. So, what is it you actually want?... (Btw I thought that most states has no limitations on ABV.)

  • @nalyib the 2nd Amendment is not to ensure "personal" purposes, it ensures people can defend off a police state/invasion (cartel) and only a moron would think otherwise

I live in California unfortunately, one of the states that do :( The chemicals they drank at the turn of the century were many, the alcohol played a part but the process they would use to dye the drink green would often include some pretty bad stuff. Most select-fire have a mode for single shot btw, so it shouldn't be a problem

  • @xxxxAXIxxxx Ah, I see. So booze above 153 proof is illegal in CA, if I got it right. Well, most brands stronger than that are not actually absinthes but gimmick brands. Absinthe was historically 90–150 proof, and it is absolutely supposed to be diluted to 22-24 proof before drinking it, anyway. There are some real absinthes in Europe as strong as 160 proof, but very-very rare. Believe me, you're not left out from anything with that restriction:)

  • @G00n3r4Life Weed is illegal aswell, and the herb in absinthe is similar to cannabis.

  • @tudvemppi Formerly thought to be similar. A myth busted years ago.

  • i bought a bottle from whiskey exchange.com ... hapsburg yellow label 89.9 %...the strongest we can get in uk which blows your head off ... this drink aint for fools ...dont under-estimate this drink period !!!!!... good shit though lol !... but respect it

  • for more info on absinthe, watch this documentary: absinthefilm. c o m

  • Dude....I once drinked 2 shots and I got wasted a lot.I warn you don't drink too much.IT IS DANGEROUS!!!!!!!

  • would anyone here consider lsd a drink?

  • Legal in Australia ;)

  • The absinthe sold in the states is missing some critical ingredients that are still illegal. They just took out the stuff that was illegal and sell it as absinthe so its not really the same stuff.

  • @antireaper132413 That's a myth that you've heard somewhere, yet you don't even know what are those 'critical ingredients'.. Thujone is about the only substance that is controlled in absinthe, but it's technically possible to make real absinthe with such a low thujone content. It also happened in pre-ban times.

  • @nalyib not to mention the tests they've done in the past couple years comparing like Lucid in the US to pre-ban absinthe overseas shows the thujone content is the same. I bet those rumors were started by people who wished to remain elitist after their favorite illegal import was legalized.

It IS true some absinthe in the US lacks wormwood but is sold as absinthe anyway..but again something like Lucid is lacking nothing.

  • @Ikarimalice I think there are some misdirections at both sides. While US absinthe is absolutely real, the 10 ppm restriction also narrows the variety of absinthes legally available. There are some excellent styles of traditional absinthe here in Europe that -- I suppose -- cannot be produced thujone-free. (Duplais, e.g., produces different batches for the US, instead of making all absinthes <10 ppm.)

Companies making US-compatible absinthes will certainly fight against the above conception.

  • @nalyib Good point as well. All of these issues could be solved with a little bit of research. We do have restrictions here sadly, yes, though thankfully there are still good brands who's formulas in both the US and the UK are identical(Mansinthe and Clandestine, for example)

  • @antireaper132413 Not true at all...do your research and if you really want to get nitty grtitty do a mass spec on it...you will find it all in line.

  • @antireaper132413 Like what if I may ask? As far as I can tell the brands available in the states are IDENTICAL to authentic Absinthe.

  • @antireaper132413 Not from what I've seen. I think you're completely wrong here.

  • The absinthe sold in the states is missing some critical ingrediants that are still illegal. They just took out the stuff that was illegal and sell it as absinthe so its not really the same stuff.

  • @antireaper132413 Different species of wormwood. I'm not sure that's entirely still the case, though. There's a distiilery in Washington (Pacific Distillery) that makes a REALLY highly-rated absinthe. It uses an old pre-ban French recipe, Grande Wormwood and everything.

  • @antireaper132413 Well yes ofcourse... Nobody in America likes green fairies so yeah... Why would they use them to produce Absinthe...

  • @antireaper132413 I am fairly sure that the absinthe in the United States is not missing any critical ingredients. The only main difference is the difference in the wormwood concentrations. Thujon, the ingredient released by the oil of the wormwood plant is the component that gets you the clarity/buzz. In European countries 35mg of thujon in an Absinthe are legal. In the US only 10mg (or less) are legal. So it's all about the concentrations of Thujon.

  • @antireaper132413 yeah the absinth is the illegal now ingredientfrom which the drink took his name

  • @antireaper132413 you can still buy pre-ban absinthe made before 1915 for a very very very high price lol. most people buy a bottle and use a syringe to taste a very small bit without having to pop the cork. i don't know how different it really is from the stuff you can buy today because there's so much mythology surrounding the drink it's hard to tell what's true and what isn't

  • @jeffers0315 Several absintheurs who tasted different pre-ban samples testify that today's traditional brands are usually the same style as pre-ban, and some of them are almost up to par with the old ones. (Actually, it may be that old ones are only better due to 100 years of aging.)

Also, it's a myth that it's easier to find good absinthe in Europe... most countries are full of dyed vodkas and anise liqueurs labeled as absinthe! Even the French has such brands....

  • @antireaper132413 It's the same in Australia. I bought two bottles from France couple years ago and customs at the airport kept it because it had woodworm in the ingredients . Now they have Absinthe in Australia but it's filtered or doesn't contain the illegal ingredients. PS: Those customs officers said they burn the alcohol and throw the bottles away, yeah right. I'll bet they drank those two bottles after work and had a hell of a time.

  • LEGAL IN SEGBIA AND IM DRINKING IT RIGH NOW

  • legal in the Slovak Republic too

  • Too much water. Try drinking it raw, that way it will suddendly take over you after a couple of hours.

  • @OattiM That's a real waste. You can get drunk on other stuff and save the absinthe for a special occasion rather than just downing it.

  • Legal In the States now.

  • it is now legal in WA state....happy dance!

  • This is ball's! I lived in prague for three years and they would always pour the absinthe over a spoon with a sugar cube on it, into a glass with some water, then set fire to the lot! much more intresting :)

  • @MrMellowfellow21 The louche of most premium brands (unlike La Fée's) are way more interesting than igniting a cube...flaming mouthwash (i.e. "absinth") is indeed more fitting in a bar/disco than louching absinthe, though.

  • Pour some more water with it and it will be as strong (in alcohol) as a normal beer:P

  • smells like...hmmm violence

  • It's not illegal in the us and does not cause hallucinations. What people went "insane"from was what we now call chronic alcoholism. Your mind will still play tricks though if you believe it will alter your state of mind.

As far as being illegal, the ban was lifted in the US after nearly a century. So enjoy your absinthe guilt and worry free!

  • why is it illegal ?

  • get ahold of a really old witches book that has this in it and make it that way. the stuff we have now is junk. water! lol make the real stuff that is illegal every where's then come and post on here

  • @jgaudio69 yep, the "real stuff" was made of the "junk's" heads and tails after distillation by mixing in copper salts and antimony. If that's "real stuff" for you, then ... cheers:D

  • Legal in Serbia.

  • @UREoneIRS wormwood is actually not a wood literally, it is the name of a bitter shrub, a plant. And i believe the last time a CREDIBLE source reported hallucinating was in the 1800s. If search absinthe on YouTube, there is a video of a distiller who admits that there are no such effects.

  • Legal in the U.S. also
