@MrChow69 obviously he has sang some songs before doing this one, so right there is voice would be getting weak and tired. I love the little bit of change in the vocals before recorded the release version.
Rattlehead757 Hey thanks they could use the notations hey may this or things like this explain song list during shows?and or?also great name Rattlehead There is someone back in...
@69suffocation Listen to "Mama I'm comming home" live. Geezer Buttler said that singing high was a killer for Ozz ever. That's why he never wanted to sing "Symptom of the universe" live, unless the rest of the Sabbath tortured him to do this :D I guess in this case singing it was a torture itself :D
Ozzy sings in full voice all the time...and at the extreme high end of his voice. It's a very physically involved and difficult to do. Hell, most singers don't sing that way. In this particular recording, his problems is that he's backing off on the high notes (not supporting with enough strength), causing his voice to crack. But singing those high notes F4-B4 gets old and tires you out real fast, especially after a few song takes. Just sayin'.
Wow, what an great example how Ozzy can't sing for shit! But wait - there is eleven different versions of "Now You See It"? Bwaahaahaa! God, that song sucks! This whole album sucked - no offense to Jake E. because that guy is really good. But that's what Ozzy does - get's a great guitarist to balance out his own short-comings. All of his "great" songs were written by someone else - mostly RR and BD
This is badass! I appreciate most the clarity of the bass. I gotta say though the weakest part of this is Ozzy himself. I would prefer these rougher and untouched vocals over the album version... if only he didn't sound like he was going through puberty on some notes.
Good track... I do prefer the guitaring the album version. Sounds like the lyrics are different on this version than the version that was released, but I'm can't work out the lyrics on this version! Ozzys voice is funny, breaking all over the place, then again I guess he was quite possibly off his tits when he did it :-) Thanx for sharing!
I like demotapes where you can here different versions of your favorite songs.
And Ozzy was one of my first metal heros, too. It all started with a live video of Shot In The Dark on Mtv. Guess it was from Moscow Music Peace Festival. Saw this video and the next day/months i had to spend all my pocket money for more Ozzy ! But unfortunately No More Tears was his last good record. After this he became some figur of fun. The prince of darknes, as sympathetic as he is, became the clown of darkness.
@mantelmann13 I agree-somewhat. In my opinion, on the strength of Lightning Strikes and Never Know Why, my interest in Ozzy stops at the Ultimate Sin. In my opinion, despite his controversial or rebellious past or reputation, Ozzy's has SOMEWHAT, if not COMPLETELY, toned down his image. Right now, he's more Mr. Mainstream instead of Mr. Metal!
I love this, i love this song..one of his best songs and so interesting to hear his vocals here. His voice is so unique. On paper ozzy's not scoring high as a live performer but strangley he totally does it live...He's our godfather and long may he rein.
I know Ozzy has been involved with dozens and dozens of classic songs, but for some reason, this song (or at least the final "Bark at the Moon" version) is what got me hooked on Ozzy back when I was like 13. Since hearing this song, I've pretty much bought all his CDs, bought some DVDs, and been listening to his music religiously. I have to say, "Bark at the Moon" and "No More Tears" are my two favorite albums of all time now.
