  • bien por mexico felicidades para ese bello pais

  • Very, very sad....All these trucks and parts should be made in America!... Dam rich polliticians in power, and thier greedy big-bussiness freinds, sold most all of this once great country, down the river, along time ago, while most real Americans were asleep-at-the-wheel, watching our reality tv shows on our big screen tv's, living the good life! Time to turn it all around, create jobs for our selves, and start makeing it in America once again!

  • Daimler trucks Plant saltillo es un negocio que tiene futuro solo para los alemanes porque alos trabajadores operarios no

    SOY TRABAJADOR DE DAIMLER

  • this is the way capitalism works: they will give you the opporutnity to make dollars over pennies, IF YOU HAVE SOME MONEY TO INVEST,,, IT WOULD BE ON THE COUNTRIES OR PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE NEED OF MAKE SOME INCOME FOR SURVIVAL, DO NOT HATE THESE PEOPLE, THEY WILL VIOLATE ANY SAFETY RULE TO BRING SOME FOOD TO THE TABLE, GO TO THE ROOT OF THE PEOPLE THAT CREATES THIS ENVIROMENT, IN THE USA THIS INVESTOR WOULD PAY A UNION WORKER ABOUT 30 DOLLARS AN HOUR....GREED IS TO BLAME HERE

  • Funny info about Saltillo The municipality of Saltillo had a population of 648,929. The Gross Domestic Product per capita in the Metropolitan Zone of Saltillo is $13,936 USD

So basically 1 single American workers entire year of unemployment is more cash than the entire GDP of 650 thousand workers in Saltillo

WOW THATS BAD........NO WONDER THEIR GOING FROM 13TH TO 16TH IN WORLD GDP. (COUPLED WITH 15% INFLATION.) (AND SEVER TRAVEL ADVISORY'S)

  • Saltillo absolute sham, both Portland and Gastonia plant trumped this plant hands down, last report only (8 truck daily) stopping the line constantly for problems because the removed offline. quality poor ,supply poor, market poor.

another Daimler mistake atop the 4 billion loss in Portland, 36 billion loss at Chrysler and now the future closing of Gastonia. (how can These Germans keep losing money and keep investors they must be stupid.)???

Old Portland dude out in 96. Saltillo is doomed!

  • I wonder what happened all of the plants got great contracts.I think the consumers aren't happy with the quality of the products they're receiving. I hope the government finally realizes we need to build things in this country and votes Nafta out.We can't compete with 2.50 an hour and no EPA regulations and no benefits.

  • Nicely quoted Accountability101. Im sure FreightLiar will be paying you a sizable amount for your echoing their claims and blaming the American workers. Its apparent that you are affiliated with FreightLiar to some degree and that you believe the average American worker cant see through your smoke screen of propaganda. FreightLiar lied to the employees many times and tried to do the same to the Labor Dept. but it didnt work. Enjoy your FreightLiar patriotism while it lasts.

  • I got laid off from freightliner in gastonia, I didnt think our plant needed a union at all ,one of the best jobs in the area . but after a suspicous revote the uaw got in , I never joined the union and I never needed them. I think that the companys greed and uaw ruined freight liner in gastonia.if they called me back i dont think i would go back. I cant afford to start over again.

  • @panther7140 You idiot, what would you have without the UNION, now they are building a parts plant over there, maybe Mexico is hiring

  • first of all im not an idiot . our union is not the same as the mt holly union.if it were i would probably join .I have seen the union in our plant disrespect paying union members, seen the company tell union reps what they can do,and recently a union saftey inspecter which was not educated whatsoever on machine saftey features shut down machines for "saftey reasons" sending needed work to contractors"Mexicans in gastonia"so keep your stupid little opinion to yourself.

  • @panther7140 I shut the machine down because it was not locked or taged out according to osha cfr1910.147 dumbass. If you have any thing else to say lets talk face to face. I am a certified safety specialist from Ferris State University I am an expert in safety according to every arbritrator in the country. I wish you knew your facts before you shoot your mouth off. The other safety person has a PHD in safety and is also an expert. You hide behind your screen name and leave safety to the experts

  • @panther7140

Learn how to spell also ( SAFETY)

  • ACCOUNT 101

I apoligize for calling you an idiot.

You where civil in your response.

  • zx2012 - I 'm sorry you're so bitter. A propaganda machine? No. Many of my friends & family have been affected by this layoff -many in Cleveland. This is not a Daimler issue - it is a US issue. If you truly believe the people in the US work as hard, have the same attendance & appreciation for their jobs as those in Mexico - than it is you who needs to travel more. We, as a country are greedy - we want to get paid the most for doing the least amount of work. It's why we're no longer competive.

  • I still say it is management . Ask yourself this.. If "bad time" were only 10 hours instead of 50 . How many employes would have 11 hours of bad time? And do you think for one moment that our mexican friends can accrew 50 hrs and still be employed? These assinine rules were in effect long before they went union. Again managment .

Travel?? I worked IN Germany fpr over 8 years and boy didn't I meet alot of germans who knew haw to game the system...Again..MANAGEMENT..

  • @Accountability101 How can we be competive with 4.50 a hour, or whats that in pesos. You fool

  • @Accountability101

then why is this plant only producing 8 trucks daily?

Portland was doing 57-80 trucks daily sleeping.

  • zx2012 - First of all, I am truly sorry for your job loss. I hope you're called back soon. I mostly agree with you about laziness being a mgmt issue. Unfortunately, it has become a union issue, 'cause regardless of the doc. before mgmt. disiplines or fires an employee, the union almost always finds a way to get them hired back,. This takes the authority away from the mgmt. I'm not saying the union is all bad - but they seem to be more about lining their own pockets than protectingemployees.

  • account101

I must beg to differ . Long before there was a union at cleveland I had seen people keep there jobs that should have been let go . As you know, a drowning man will grasp at a straw.

If you are familiar with Cleveland than you know that freightliner did many things to help the plant vote union.

  • Part 3: FTL pays the empls in Mex. the top wage the gov. allows. They didnt go for cheap lbr. Ive worked at the FTL plant, & saw 1st hand the laziness of some union empls, & the others who busts their ass to make up for it. To bad theyll suffer for the group who wants to get paid the most for doing the least. We have to stand up & take accountability for our own actions & stop crying about how big & bad corp. America is.

  • Account 101

Ive recently been layed off from TMP Cleveland NC. Freightliner

The laziness you mention is a management problem. A problem that affects any bussiness , anywhere ... Anywhere in the whole world... If you don't agree , you need to travel more.

I saw some of this at Freightliner ... but than again I saw some of this in the USMC ... How about that..

Multi national Corps. though NAFTA are being allowed to pee in the same pond that they drink from.

  • Part 2: In the US, theres no incentive to work hard & do your best; youll still get paid the same as Joe twiddling his thumbs all day. FTL US cant fire union empls. when justified cause its a big legal battle w/ the union, & theyll have to hire them back w/ back wages. When FTL first went to Mex., it tried to pay the same wage as the US. They werent allowed by the Mex. gov., cause the wages were so much higher then other jobs, it would start a riot and possible murders.

  • Accout 101

    THAT IS A LIE...

Any fool with one credit in Economics knows you can't do this . It would distroy the local economy. If , in fact Diamler offered this , they did so knowing full well that it would be turned down by the Mexican Government.

What are you ? Some kind of PROPAGANDA machine for Diamler Trucks.

  • Part 1: People - pls see the whole picture. It IS our greed as a country causing these issues. Co.s like Boeing, who are the highest paid machinist in the US strike because they "don't make enough". Freightliner has the same issues. Empls take sick leave as soon as theyve earned 8hrs whether theyre sick or not. Absenteeism in the US is 20%, in Mexico its 1.5%. In the US, they work maybe 6 of 8hrs/day. In Mex., they work their entire shifts.

  • Account 101

People .. Dont let this Idiot misguide you .

Its about CHEAP LBR.. Corporatons being aloud to treat labour as a commoudity. With NAFTA Corps can now find the cheapest labor markets and ship things here tax free. Our government is allowing corperations the screw us.

  • What about textiles? Half or more of them weren"t union shops and they went east. I think we are all concerened about this type of stuff happening but we can"t blame it all on the union. We need to look at the bigger picture. I wouldn"t doubt this plant will be union before long and then maybe they will move it back to the good old USA. What do you think?

  • $40.00 an hour average Vs. $4.00an hour in Mexico you do the math they don't have to pay for the union bottom line no unions more jobs

  • 5th group

I was at top pay, at Freightliner TMP Cleveland NC , four weeks ago . I have been layed off , after 13 years. Building Cascadias... Top pay is $23.50 And you are a uninformed IDIOT.

    open your eyes..

  • @5thgroup18Bravo they pay them less because they do less only the robots will work hard in mexico

  • Freightliner had to pay the UAW? Corporate greed is why there is a new plant in Mexico. All they look at is the year end bonuses the big wheels receive. Until the American people start sticking together and hold our elected officials accountable for allowing this to happen then we are doomed.

  • I wish we could have had some new equipment like that to work with.

  • Freightliner could not afford new equipment they had to pay the UAW

  • 5th group

New equipment is a tax writeoff...

    open your eyes...

  • This is why my husband an I lost our jobs. We need to stand up for our jobs in America. If we don't whats gonna happen next? I think on the same line as you guys......we should refuse any and everything made in Mexico. First they come here and take jobs....now the jobs are going to them!!!!!

  • Send the UAW to Mexico they will go out of business faster

  • 5th group

The union has nothing to do with a Corp. fishing for a place to pay statvation wages.

    open your eyes....

  • America needs to refuse these trucks what happened to made in america

  • Maybe if america stands up and refuses all the mexico vehicles workers might have a chance

  • Should I be happy about this? After all of my family and I lost my job? Freightliner, I hope you fail in this economy.....

  • The union and your greed is why Freightliner and a lot of others are going to Mexico You want to ruin it for Freightliner in Mexico just send the UAW

  • 5th group

Freightliner and NAFTA treat labour as a commodity. Thats why there in Mexico.

    Open your eyes.
